Great sale MLN. Very good prices on the sale items. Ignore the people who negged - they've never run a retail outlet before and have no idea of the complexities of stock control during a sale. They remind me of my 2 year old daughter when she's hungry and/or tired. She wants her food/bed NOW and someone better get it - she doesn't know or care how it happens! Well done on braving the comments here too. You kept it all together very well I thought!

A small reminder to those who seem to take pleasure in hounding the MLN rep - if you keep it up, have you considered they may just cease advertising here?

    • +3

just like COTD, people negged them and they left, they were a wonderful business, its just due to previous crashes that people stated negging, we don't want to lose another great business.

    • +15

Well said. There is really no point of pushing the reps here who have worked hard on Christmas day and Boxing day to bring us great deals, when most of us are enjoying ourselves at home & spending time with family.

      • +1

Very good point indeed Scotty, I myself had clean forgotten that the MLN guys who put in the hard work & copped the flak most definitely started on Xmas day and worked thru the night til Boxing day, and most likely will rotate back this arvo/evening! :o

      • +1

Great job from the REP. I think, he has made quite a bit of friends Scotty.
I hope, they will feel the same :)

        • +1

          Yes I do,
          (I'm back from my rest)
I'm so glad you guys can see this part of the business as well,
all in all around 45 people did this,
but we are getting paid so dont feel too sorry!
Glad to have you guys as well.
In relation to the web site,
I just checked, I dont think it actually went down at all,
it just slowed down so much for about an hour that nothing could be done to it.
I was actually expecting it to crash.

        • +2

          great to have you back!!!

  • +4

id just like to commend mln rep for his effort over the past few days, I go past the richmond store a lot and will now frequent more often, also I weathered the downtime on the site and still got what I wanted :)

  • fyi there is a line of 30 at north melbourne as of 1.45pm

    • I just got in at 16:30
and have been advised the line has been prety much like that till now
the wait is about 15 minutes

  • +6

Great job MLN, I should say. Initially they did had some problems and neggs, but after few hours, at least the site was running fine and plenty of stock ( yes, I said plenty of stock.)
We cannot say, it was like COTD They are far far far better than them. At least sale did not end and as the REP said, there was plenty of stock. They started slow, but after that it was smooth.

We at Ozbargain now have a nose, which start smelling fishy for too good sales and thinking too less stock. All thanks to our old friend COTD. We thought the same initiialy, but it was all good later.

But also, Hats off to the REP, who was here with us all the time and gave reasonable explanations. We all are happy finally.

Keep up the good work MLN, your will not face the same things, you did today.

I request ozbargainers, who "Negged" the deal to try again today and revoke their votes.

Season's greetings to all my ozbargain members and reps :)

    • +2

      Nicely written

      • Thanks :)

  • +1

Make sure you guys get charged the prices advertised.

The clerks don't go by the prices on the website, rather, they 'check' their catalogue which is a few dollars more than their advertised prices.

I tried to get sold the 8GB per the 'catalogue' price of $18, and only when I prompted the sales clerk that it was $11 did he change the price. I purchased a few 4GB microSDHC cards which were advertised at $6 dollars, and I again prompted him to check the site and he insisted it was $9. I only got charged the $3 extra for each card but it's the principle of the matter.

If you advertise something then sell it for extra, that is simply not on.

    • When were you there? Was it before the prices were adjusted last night/this am? You could have always said no if you weren't happy with the price or they wouldn't honour it!

FWIW, the 4gb MSDHC are online @ $6, same for 8gb USB @ $11 - no problem adding them to my cart at that price!

      • +1

I went today, before the prices where adjusted, the sales rep entered prices from the catalogue and not their website. He did change the price for the 8GB USB, but I had to ask him to check the site and since he was looking at their own site, and the 4gb MSDHC is right on top of it, it would make sense that he was telling me the truth when he said that $9 was the correct price. I came home and double checked and it is still only $6.

Just a heads up to anyone going in now.

        • Fair enough, I'd email them about a refund though, I'm sure they'll comply…$3 x ? = still your money! ;)

          Surely no longer neg-worthy though???

        • -1

As I have said so many times now,
speak to the staff in store, ask them what else is on sale, every sales person is a different human being we have flexibility on certain products and it will come down to the knowledge of the individual person and the correct questions you ask.
We are humans here as well.
We have been given the green light on everything till midnight tonight.
Prices are adjusted, something things are going down in price, then pulled later on after it has sold out.

  • +3

It's not the $3 x ? that matters, what matters is that they're probably doing this to lots of people who don't suspect a thing. It's more like $3 x how many times they have gotten away with doing this. Remember I was nearly charged an extra $7 for my 8GB usb. If they do indeed have stocks in the thousands, all the extra money they are charging will add up to a huge amount. If this was a one time mistake then fair enough, but while you wait in the store to be served, you see all the staff referring to the catalogue for prices. It is not like staff don't know there is a sale going on and what the actual prices are. Very poor form.

    • -3

Well, you are the first person here to complain about this; although I haven't reread all the other comments for updates! As I said before, you could have said no!

You should have stood up for yourself at the point of sale mate, you knew what the advertised price was, yet you agreed to pay the wrong price…then you come in here for a pointless retrospective whinge. Sorry to say, but I have no sympathy for you in this instance, you have nobody to blame but yourself! HTFU! :p

      • -1

Lol facepalm did you even read anything I wrote, don't worry, because I won't.

        • +2

          Oh, I'm sorry, you said:

"I purchased a few 4GB microSDHC cards which were advertised at $6 dollars, and I again prompted him to check the site and he insisted it was $9. I only got charged the $3 extra for each card but it’s the principle of the matter."

So WTF are you on about??? Did you or did you not knowingly pay $3 above the price you expected for the cards? You sure knew enough to query it; and you knew the advertised price, but you didn't stand your ground! You admitted this occurred before the sale prices had been updated, so you clearly comprehend why the pricing error occurred; yet you don't wanna pursue a refund…you just wanted to have a little whine…good for you! ;)

"did you even read anything I wrote, don’t worry, because I won’t."

So, you're not gonna read anything you wrote??? WTF, seriously, you really should!!! :p

    • if you have been charged anything higher than $6 for the 4gb microsd, you should return for a refund. everyone knows about this price its on their main website.

    • -2

      anarky
seriously, we are not some evil company trying to steal your $3 and everyone elses.
This would be very foolish and dishonust.
it is expected a customer develop some type of a relationshhip with staff.
      Your accusations are not fair.
Prices may have changed after you bought,
yes staff do not know whats going, they cant, prices are being adjusted according to what is selling overall.

I have said it before I will say it again, its a boxing day sale, everything is inteneded to sell out.
Prices may come down on other things as the sale goes along and some staff are not aware of this.

Come back and we will give you your $3

      • +1

Like I have said twice, it's not the $3 dollars that matters, it is the principle of the matter. Your staff tried to over charge me once, and with the second product, even having the product on the site in front of them, insisted that the price they quoted was correct. I didn't argue because I thought the price had gone up, but returning home, the price had not changed.

        You said yourself:

        "$49 hard drive,
+ 2 USB sticks or along those lines.
was a common order, and I am sure they were all pretty much ozbargainers"

If it is so common, then why the sudden confusion over the price?

        • There is no confusion,
if you came to the stores you would have seen the sales people were not sitting around looking at web orders or the webprice.
If you ordered online you got it.

We are not trying to "overcharge" you,

          ohhh
          I give up

        • You're the only one confused mate! :p

Several people here including myself have suggested you contact MLN for a refund; and the rep has clearly offered this, but this doesn't seem to be good enough for you???

WTF is your problem, seriously, carring on about principle over such a trivial error is plain childish. Especially one you could have averted by growing a pair & sticking to your guns, since you knew the sale price when you bought them! Let them make restitution, move on & grow up FFS!!!

  • Darn, missed out on the $49 1TB Samsung drive.

  • +2

why are ppl so worked up about this sale when Centre Com has got a similar sale on

In fact their laptop seem better http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?sort=2a…

    • +3

Yeah I actually like their laptops better but their sale is a 10 days sale :) After we finished commenting on MLN today we'll be discussing CentreCom's offers tomorrow!

      • so, its a 240 hour sale! lol, will we have to wait a few days for them to update their prices on their websites, since its a 10 day sale?

    • I dont think so guys,
look at the bottom line on your receipts.

You can buy the 2GB module for $20-$25
      so $497 + $25
is less, it can be even cheaper if you are paying via credit card and you want to pickup.

Our G560 DM is less by around 6%

Our G560 89m is also less

Our iomega 1tb is also 15% less

I would look a little harder, plus dont forget, you can come in store and buy what you like at whatever price you want, lots of other things are on sale but not really being noticed mentioned.

      For example
      https://www.mln.com.au/product/?itemID=706&typeID=
this is more than a 20% saving on the cheapest staticice price.
      http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=DV7-4012TX&…

The Asus X52 JT for $999 is a bargain on its own, it has the new next generation GPU

Our stock is available at all stores and online.
No credit card surcharge as well
      thats another 2% saving

I cant help but notice all these other retailers directly attacking our deals,
lets see what happens by tonight.

      stay tuned

  • +2

It would be soo much more convineant if you gus had support for paypal…

    • +2

but then the cost of paypal will affect the cost of the products

      • +1

        issh
        yes this is correct.

        • There is a fine line between bargain and good price as you guys appreciate
          ;)

    • +1

paypal and ebay sucks. If you had tried selling something on ebay before, you'll know what i mean. So yes, being the customer you have the advantage but I do feel pity for sellers sometimes (after calculating the losses and possible after sale paypal retribution)

  • GUYS WE HAVE TO SELL IT ALL!
STIL HAVE THOUSANDS OF LAPTOPS, NON OF YOU SEASONED BARGAIN HUNTERS HAVE DISCOVERED YET, THERE A LOT IN STORE TO CHOOSE FROM,
TAKE ADVANTAGE WITH BUYING STUFF AT A LOWER PRICE THAN THE ALREADY LOW STANDARD PRICE.
SPEAK TO YOUR SALES REP IN STORE.
THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL NEXT YEAR.
WE ARE NORMALLY NOT ABLE TO DISCOUNT OUR ALREADY LOW PRICE.

    • Any (unofficial) examples? I realise that you probably can't formally list some of the deals ifs really limited availability etc, but a clue in would help people to get motivated.

      • I would try any of the Asus notebooks,
couple of HP's floating around as well
        Heaps of Toshie stock.

    • Can you make those products with lower prices available online?

      • Sorry after being hammered for possibly selling out,
if we do not have a big quantity, we will not list it.
We cant stop people from ordering.
        Cannot have it both ways.

Instore is best for low quantity items,
when we have less than 100 units.

  • we now have the Samsung S2 1TB portable for $97
if you paid more for them at MLN we will refund you the difference, just go back to the store you made the purchase from.

    • thanks, noticed this as well, edited the HN deal page to reflect this.

    • Just checked how many of these drives we sold at the higher price, and it was not very many,
if you feel as though you have been wronged, we apologise, but will do what is right by you.

All stock must go, we have to sell everything, this sale will end this midnight tonight which is in under 5 hours.

    • -1

Sorry for being so skeptical but you keep blaming other sellers for beating your prices and now you do exactly the same thing by lowering the prices after you notice a better offer elsewhere! Please do not take me wrong, i really like the fact that you give us a better deal, but stop blaming the other competitors for doing the same thing!

      • ok I will stop doing it then
        no more beating prices

        • -1

i'm sure you got my message, so don't try to play dumb with us!
A smart person like you should accept and understand that you have exactly the same rights as any other competitor out there!
threatening like that: "ok I will stop doing it then
no more beating prices" sounds stupid to me!

By just admitting that you were wrong(blaming the competitors while adopting the same strategy) i'm sure it will not harm your company's profile!

        • +3

Being original with a deal, and having the stock is not the same as coming out with the same deal with minimal stock for $1 less.
I have not created any promotions to undercut anyone else in this way, our promotions were created first then these limited stock promos were created after, we simply reacted.

Competition while healthy must be genuine,
putting 10 hard drives in a few stores for $1 less is not the same as selling thousands of hard drives for this price, this is the same as putting 50 laptops online for $1 less as well, there is no risk in doing this rather its intended to actually water down your competitors sales.
We had thousands of units available across the board.
An online sale for $1 less on 8 items that have only probably 10-20 units of each is not a sale.
I wonder why the Iomega drives elsewhere were not dropped to $59 from $68? becuase $9 X 1000's is a lot.
I also wonder why these other retailers did there USB stick price drops on stock they have very little of like Lexar and Samsung hard drives. MLN is a premium Samsung hard drive dealer, whearas these other companies stock little to non in each store.
100% genuine sales are all that we as MLN want, and we are happy to compete against them
defending bait advertisors does not help the bargain community at all.
Customers do not benefit when retailers practise in this way, a sales should be a genuine sale, as we have demonstrated.
I hope you can understand what I am saying.
The purpose of these price drops is only to harm what we are doing by exposing the retailer to enormous losses via inventory quantities, this is just bait advertising in another form.
To be honust I am dissapointed you cant see this, all we did was adjust the prices on products we were already selling at a big loss in reaction to these movements.

You will never see MLN put something for $1 less hoping that we stop others from selling and wishing that we will only sell 10 units, by limiting to people on the website only, or by putting 5 units into each store.

Some dealers and retailers have no integrity, its such a shame that you guys cant see past that.

I as do all MLN employees enjoy buying from genuine resellers when they have genuine specials.
You dont think it strange to have the same product listed a few hours after our sale for a few dollars less on a few limited products?
Doing something for $1 less and hoping you stop your competitor from selling their product while hoping you only sell 5 units yourself is criminal and unethical, it takes all of you for a ride.

  • If you really need to get rid of all stock, lower the price on the Asus X52JT even more and I'll be tempted. Better half won't let me spend that much :( Something about not needing another laptop..I'll keep a watch out on the website (and here) in hope!

    • You will need to go in store for that,
web price is back up to $1146
this is a new model and $999 was already below cost.
This has been a very popular seller.
      It is no longer $999

This may happen to other models as they sell.

      • +1

No problem - thanks anyway..I'd probably have gone into a store if I lived anywhere near one. Open up a store in the ACT before the next big sale!

        • +1

          thank you, we will try
we are a franchised company, so maybe you could?
          ;)

      • Asus X52JT - What is the battery life on this model? Do you know whats going to be changed/updated/different in the new 'sandy gate' cpus coming out next month or so?

        • +1

          No it will not
          from my understanding
Sandy Bridge is not a very good option on the Core i7 range as dedicated cards will be better up here at this price point anyway.
In the Core i5 and i3 range is where sadny bridge is intended to be good, I also think there is not much point to it as the premium on the processor will be around $40-$100 more making it for example more expensive than what we can already offer now on an i3 or i5 with dedicated graphics.
So I cannot see the purpose other than Intel making more out of the overal total system, example, now the board chipsets, wireless cards already have and GPUS will become Intel also,
If you all remember Centrino, prior to that it was just Core 2 duo, and they added a wireless card to the CPU and called it Centrino, the notebook already had a wireless card, there was no overall gain except for intel which muscled out all of the other wireless card makers.
This is intels way of growing their revenue by taking sales away from ATI and Nvidia.
If the prices re-adjust themselves to low, the average sale price overall will be too low and this will affect many aspects of the overal industry as well.
I do not see anything great happening here until May 2011,
by then top of the line cards will go 256 bit and mid range will move to 128 bit so I dont think sandy bridge will do much as nvidia and Ati are not sitting around picking apples either.

Long story short, I dont see any gain overall. There is no technology leap like there was with C2D to Core i technology, this is the general attitude within the hardware industry.

          edit:
i7 processors munch power anyway, I would rather have a proper i7 notebook with a full powered GPU than a watered down version,
thats me of course, the G53 and G73 for example will go full blown GPU's not Intel watererd down HD graphics.
I'm jsut sceptical, been doing this way to long to jump onto this refresh, this early on.
I am not expecting a super fast car that uses no energy to be any good, if the car is going to perform it should be a performance car, in between products just turn out to be no good at anything,
At the end of the day, all of this is only good when it is good value as well

I think its to early to really say, it will take a few months to know. There is always something new coming out next month anyway and when next month comes, something else new is coming out next month again. This is the world of computers.

        • +1

@MLN noo… u get the benefits of integrated switchable graphics increasing battery life of power munching i7 cpus
the arcitecture will be different for this to work, also there is rumour saying that sandybridge users can switch to ivy bridge because the architecture and chipsets will be the same

        • Sandy Bridge not sandy gate =]

        • oh awesome, thanks for that info.

  • so you guys have no more dv6s?

    • we have so many versions,
not all are online, if the quantity is less than 10 units or so per store, its not online

  • MLN, I'm looking at AO532-451G25N - Can you confirm if the 6 cell battery is 4400 mAh or 5900?
Any room to move on this?

    • the only info I have is that it is 6 cell.

  • Why are there no i7 Desktops on sale? Lots of notebooks, but ZERO powerfull desktops.. bit disappointed..!

    • +1

we had asked for what you wanted to see go on sale on our facebook page,
      its too late now.
      sorry

  • -2

What happened to the 1.5TB Samsung HDD for $65

    • +1

it sold out as did many other products.
This sale was intended to sell products out.

Its a boxing day sale to sell out the excess stock we had from december
this is the purpose of this sale.

We are not a clearance website trying to draw people into buying clearance products at clearance prices.

  • -6

yeah yeah it SOLD OUT gimmick!
They ran out of $1 usb sticks as well and were happy to offer the SALE price of $4 sandisk usb key on BOXING DAY!

    • +5

      ozdesi
      its a sale,
      its supposed to sell out
Your negging becuase it sold out? We had over 10,000 sticks available.

The $gb Sandisk sticks are part of our Xmas catalogue, this catalogue is public.

      thousands of people bought.

Im sure there are 100's of Ozbargainers who made it.
You do realise we advertised Lexar stock, when it became unavailable we sold, Toshiba and Sandisk sticks in place,
how genuine do you want an offer to be? How could we be more genuine than this?
We could have very easily just said "sold out", very early on.

I think your remarks are very unfair and unjustified.

our facebook page has the videos of the people lining up,
      see for yourself

      http://www.facebook.com/pages/MLN/205272693812#!/pages/MLN/2…

Imagine how many people across Australia were also ordering at the same time.

    • +4

ozdesi we seriously don't need this sort of crap on here. The rep is doing a fantastic job. Grow the hell up.

  • +3

Gees I kind of feel sorry for the MLN rep, he's doing the best he can. I can't imagine how hard it must be to coordinate this whole thing — and the fact that he has to put in time during this x'mas/boxing day period. You gotta give em a break, it's not like they're intentionally being misleading like COTD.

  • -4

i cant reply to your previous comment so i'll do it here!

1.The fact that you have a massive 24hour sale doesn't mean that other competitors don't have the right to have sales(or last minute sales)!
    2. (repeat from a previous comment that probably you didn't read carefully) you blame the competitors while adopting the same strategy! i'm sure we all can find your advertised items on a previous sale elsewhere. What makes your sale genuine and the others' unethical?
3.the fact that you must sell everything doesn't automatically give you the right to SHOUT in this thread(see a previous comment of yours)
    4. you blame other competitors for having sales without having big stock while we all know what happened to your "thousands" of 1.5TB Samsung HDDs!
    5. you talk about "bait advertising". IMHO advertising products in this thread that are available only in-store(mln) and not on-line(mln) is also "bait advertising".You know what i'm talking about!

There are thousands of people who not only think different to you now
but as this sale draws to an end, are fully aware that our sale was genuine and they did buy.

Lets see how many of you here actually order and receive from these other online shops, and how many of you are happy to drive around to 10 different shops looking for the 5 left over hard drives.

Our website went down for 90 minutes I said it would be ok everything would be available, and it was, it came up and plenty of stock was available for everyone.
The stores had plenty of everything and as everything sold out, there was an equivelant alternative.
You should expect the same from every website and store for every sale.
Why are you content when retailers do this?

thousands of people lined up at our stores and purchased everything with out a problem,
no bait advertising here, and I will defend this strongly becuase simply you are only trying to publically and unjustly defame my company.
      http://www.facebook.com/pages/MLN/205272693812#!/pages/MLN/2…

here are the videos from just two stores who served customers like this for around 18 hours straight then still continued.

I would ask the rest of the ozbargain community to speak out and say something to GregFiona about this.

It is you the customer who is being taken for a ride.
These sales are not genuine that have been posted by other retailers that contain the same specials.

      • 1.You didn't answer to all of my points!
        2. I have nothing personal against you or your company, i haven't even -ved this deal.
3.I'm not trying to defame your company, i didn't even know it existed before this massive sale! I thing you completed your mission successfully in this site and that you have been advertised enough! if your customers are happy(i'm sure most of them are) having bought from you i'm happy for all of you!
4.You are the one who defames other competitors talking about "healthy competition" and "bait advertisement" but you adopt the same strategy!!!
5.You think that only your company has the right to "react" to price drops from other competitors and you think it's unethical when they do the same!
        6. you think that you are the only company that MUST SELL OUT, it's ok for you to sell out and have no stock but you blame the competitors when they sell out and have no stock!

Sorry mate, you have convinced me that you did a good job and got a lot of money out of this sale but you haven't convinced me about the above points!

          I answered these already,
50 units at a saving are not the same as 5000 units, One gets noise and notice, the other gets noise, notice and genuine volume sales.
check the dates on these promotions then check how much stock they have,
This is bait advertising, I simplt responded to these attempts to discredit our genuine sale.

You should be furious about these other posts, rather your accusing me of the same thing,
I responded to a response to our genuine sale even though these sales offered by our competitors large and small were not genuine at all.
50 units vs 5000 is not a like for like sale.

I just sorta think that all your comments against MLN's kinda unfair. I was there at north melbourne last night, and queued for two hours in the cold, without sitting down, a warm drink, a cigarette, whatever sort of amenities that you could think of (in other words, I lacked the comforts of home), and I didn't complain, because at the end of the day, after queuing for TWO friggin hours with close to a hundred people in front of me and another hundred behind me, there were still stock for me.

The 1.5tb hdds were a bargain, almost everyone before me walked out with two of those under their arms. Some even had three! I was actually getting worried that after queuing there for two hours, I won't be getting any rewards, but the fact of the matter is, MLN did have stock, and they had A LOT of stock, so I think the fact that MLN said that they had to sell out, that's a fair comment. They're not like COTD, where specials run out in less than 5 minutes. So there.

This was definitely not bait advertising. They attracted me with their prices, and they did have the goods to back up. If you were actually there queuing physically, you would understand. Get off the comfort of your armchair and stop criticizing the poor rep and staff at MLN who worked during Christmas to make this deal possible.

    • Just give up dude, the caps were clearly to make a emphasis and you are really just arguing semantics

        sorry don't get it
        caps?

        • They are referring to the post you made with the caps lock on, gregfiona felt it was shouting

          oh
          sorry you felt that way

    • I got "baited and out of stock"
Not everyone gets "baited and out of stock" because different people are after different products.

How long did u wait from the start of the sale to actually ordering?

  • I just bought the red toshiba laptop instore, the specials aren't all clearly priced, but
The guy that served me Saul knew the prices and specials even though he started at 11:30am last night. Exceptional service from mln IMHO as I was offered 2 upgrade specials, which I had the 2gb memory upgraded in a few minutes and out the door. Saul even reminded me of the funny foreign guy in family guy that thinks sarcasm is hilarious and that was near the end of his very long day.

Regarding comments of anarky about different prices on the web and in-store. Happened to me today as well. I bought a Belkin USB wireless stick this morning in Essendon store for $29 and went home but later found it on MLN website for just $17. I went back to store and was told that it's actually quite NORMAL that the price on the web is different to the price in store. He even showed me some LCD monitor that was something like $240 on the website and $320 on their shelf. It was just so funny - him trying to convince me that purchasing stuff on their website with shipping will be cheaper than buying it in store.. Anyway I wasn't too worried about the $12 difference so I just left but it felt a bit sour.

    • Go back and get your money back
      that is not right

      • +2

Nah, it's alright. $29 is good anyway. It would be great however if you could tell that guy that lying to customers isn't very nice :-)

Hi MLN, I just bought a laptop from Essendon store 1 hours ago,
before we decided the model, I ask the staff that centre com has a Toshiba i3 370 for $599. He checked the website and said no, that that's duo core. I should have it checked properly before I bought the laptop, because centre com does have the i3 370 for $599 http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?sort=2a…

        • +1

please make all official complaints via the MLN website for it to addressed by the proper people.

        • How much did you end up paying for your laptop?

        • mm, I ended up bought a different brand Lenovo i3 350 with 4G ram(2G extra for free)at $549. But I prefer Toshiba, only if I checked (to be sure) again before I left home. Not feeling too great though.

    • Thats pretty nice of you actually… perhaps its better not to realize these things…

Thanks miken. That's exactly how I felt. To us, the few dollars that we got ripped off doesn't really matter, but obviously it adds up for a supreme profit if it was their intention all along.

  • The festive season has all but ended for some - imagine trying to get such personalized service from one if the majors.
I love grateful people - lifes tobshort to complain about everything.

    Comment for mln

I went to the Essendon store, was there just after midnight. Huge crowd! Paid for goods just before 2am (got to be a bit crazy to partake in these things!). Generally I applaud the deal, but a couple suggestions for next time (if that happens - and take note for any other retailer doing this):

*You might want to have separate lines for notebooks/netbooks and accessories/harddrives/usb/etc. I know the idea is for people to buy the higher end stuff, but the smaller items are easier to push through. The problem with the line was when it was held up by configuring notebooks etc and general stuffing around.

*Have some crowd interaction, at least for the first hour. Do jokes, talk to them, have giveaways, prizes, it doesn't really matter. Engaging the crowd helps offset any anger with the queues.

*Maybe talk to neighbouring buisness' about co-production sales. I reckon the nearby Subway would have done roaring sales on the back of it ;)

*Give the guy who worked on the door a good feed or some beers. He reckons he was only there helping out a cousin. A fine effort on his part!

    • I was a bit shocked to see security, although I heard west melb had a drunk to deal with

    • like a sausage sizzle

  • Sale Officially Ends Now

  • How about extending the sale for another 24 hours? ;-)
