  • Display Connections VGA ..can't be right

Dunno, looking at that beauty of a monitor I wouldn't be surprised.

Look closer, you can only see the one plug on the back on the right hand of the interface panel.

Quick google seem to confirm this as well.

For some reason Lenovo think this is 2005.

VGA lives on as a computing zombie standard, it's the connection that will never die.

I actively plug in VGA over DVI sometimes. I am an evil person.

        • @Clear: Eeeew, that's as disgusting as a wicker toilet seat!

        • Its not zombie on this monitor.

Its the only input it has.

No DVI, no HDMI, no Display port or whatever. Just a single VGA.

    • +2

Yes Full HD and VGA only are strange bedfellows.

      • VGA can handle higher resolutions up to 2048×1536px

  • Find the specs a bit confusing. It says Display Connections: VGA, but then further down the page:

    Ports
    Number of HDMI Ports 1

Also : https://www.amazon.in/Lenovo-LI2215s-21-5-Color-Monitor/dp/B… <—- Answers here suggest HDMI port?

Can anyone clarify if there actually IS an input for HDMI?

edit: So I found the user manual here and can't find anything other than D-Sub connection mentioned, so guess it's VGA only?

  • Does anyone have a recommendation for using vertical monitors? Any bargains?

    • Just make sure there are good viewing angles. I recently got some nice ones at OW but they only had 3 left online and I got 2 of them, so I did not post it.

      • What brand and model did you get?

        • https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/philips-23… Really nice, plenty of inputs. I'm stacking 2 one above the other and rotating my older one to vertical on the side for emails.

        • @ShipShapeRC: Thanks for that info!

        • @charlie123: You will have a hard time finding it, I dont think anyone else in OZ ever stocked that model, but they have similar.

        • @ShipShapeRC: Yeah, I'll check the demo versions in store to see if the viewing angles are good or not. Will try to find similar one.

        • @charlie123: Anything 170 degs plus is great, just avoid the cheapies with their 65/90 deg viewing angles, on their side would be awful!

        • @ShipShapeRC: Thanks, that is good info to have. Have you checked any of dell dfo monitors to use vertically?

Probably better off with the Benq 21.5" (GW2270) from MSY for $99 which appears to have DVI.

Just took one out of the box at officeworks, its 100% vga only
