Google Home or Echo better?
Depends what you want them for. Major annoyance with the google is you need Chromecast audio to feed through another speaker, echo will connect to anything with Bluetooth. Google announces the full name of my lights (yeelight/lifx bla bla bla model) when responding to commands, alexa does not (maybe issue i haven't resolved with "labels"?). Google can run spotify under free account, alexa requires paid spotify
Google home doesn't do spotify any more from what I've heard?
EDIT: I stand corrected, seems to be working now. Perhaps I read about a temporary thing?
assigning a nickname to your lights in the home app will change it. My yeelight is listed as 'The Lamp'
Google is over eager and triggers off randomly. Alexa just laughs at you for no reason.
Google home is not good for 'conversation' (asking questions etc) IMO if that's something that would be happening in your household.
I have all the echos so I think they are better for me…. but as a noob, I would still say Echo based on the wake word… I feel like saying "hey google …. " is lame, just going "Alexa …" I feel is way more natural. She becomes part of the family in no time.
