      All BMW 3 series and Mercedes C Classes are made in South Africa. If you want a German-made BMW, everything else (1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 plus the X1) are all German made. Although South African made cars are actually better built (fewer errors) and the BMW plant in South Africa has actually won global awards for quality whereas the German factory built cars actually have more errors per no. of cars produced.

    Both brilliant cars. Actually the most reliable 3 series generation to date. Way better than the previous two generations which have a lot of issues. More fun to drive than the A4, XE and C-Class. Interior may be a little boring for some but if you spec it right, it holds up pretty damn well. And servicing is cheap as chips for a German luxury car ($1400 for 5 years).

    Anyone had any luck finding these?

    Called up 5 BMW dealers around and all have been Ozbargained. However, I was able to get a raincheck for 2 though the dealer stated there's a long waiting list. You snooze you lose!

    Interesting to see a BMW deal on ozbargain. F30 is approaching its end of lifecycle. Most bugs / defects have been fixed, optional equipment become standard, good value for money. But I still don't recommend buying new unless u know what u r buying and recalling into it. Buying a pre-owned (2-4 years old, still covered by services plan) is more sensible choice.

    Not sure about the B48 inline 4 cy turbo reliability tho. ZF 8 should be bulletproof already.

    I'll never buy inline 4 cy engine from BMW (currently owning F87).

    Why no deals on 318i? Anyway, a 3-Series, even at that price, is a very poor choice. The resale value on the 3 is shocking. A 3-year-old 2015 model 320i is only worth 56% of it's original value (this equates to over $9000 a year loss in value). This compares with 70% for the equivalent Mercedes C200 (or $6100 a year loss in value).

    C class better residual, however Ive got the 320i plugged a JB4 stage 2 with a downpipe which brings it to the next level engine output and the thing goes pretty good, very happy with it as a daily driver.
    Its no Evo but you can still feel the turbo start pulling light or heavy footed.

    Honestly 3 series is junk compared to C-Class. There will be run out deals too on the current gen W205, to pave way for the 2019 C-Class facelift.

    I've tried the car.. its not bad. quite smooth, relatively fast but honestly doesn't feel like a massive difference between older models.

    However, if you are a BMW lower and don't want to spend the coin. This is a good buy or wait til end of financial year.
