I have this and it is quite slow like a turtle on zuclopenthixol acetate

Might need to bridge with IM olanzapine 10mg and wait 1 hour to give IM midazolam

    • About to buy one thanks for the feedback

    • +1

Can confirm. Basically runs at USB 2.0 speeds. Disappointing flash drive :'(

  • +4

Gets pretty hot when in use

      Sounds like me.

      (I'll show myself out)

        Dad?

        • No, this is Patrick.

  • "Temperature proof"

  • +2

    Is it bulletproof?

    • +7

      It's a bar, so I'm hoping for some 100-proof.

Doesn’t sit flush next to keys. I bought a 64GB one a long time ago but it sits in my safe now, absolutely rubbish for putting on my keychain.

    • How…
      What…?
      Flush… next to keys..
      What the?

    • I don't know what its called, but back then phones use to always come with this loop thing that has a string attached with a clip at the end. You could loop it in if you want it to fit better onto your keychain

    • Works fine with mine, just had to put it next to my bike lock key (which has something of a fob on it, so they sit fairly flush together).

Good for storing crypto that can't be stored on hardware wallets. Wonder if you can have multiple partitions. Never tried on a USB before.

    • +8

You can partition a usb drive.

      • You can but Windows won't let you mount more than one partition at a time on a removable USB drive.

        • +1

Don't think that's an issue. I recall have more than 1 partition mounted on windows when I partitioned 1 of my usb drives.

        • That's not true at all…

        • @Salmando: on a USB hard drive it will happily mount multiple partitions but with a USB stick you are stuck with one at a time. It depends if it detects it as a disk drive or a removable device.

        • +1

@Salmando: there is a way to do it by manually editing some USB drive inf files to make your USB stick come up as a fixed drive but it requires admin rights and can be a pain doing it on every computer. I've also done it in the past with a small tool that let you swap which partition was mounted but it wasn't very reliable and sometimes just unmounted the drive without mounting the other partition. There is a recent thread here about it from last year but nobody had a solution

          https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/727553-how-to-make-wind…

It's a weird Windows limitation as multiple partitions on a USB drive works fine in Linux and Mac OS

        • @Agret:
hmm feel I have one with a split partition that I never had issues with. Though the first partition is set as an active partition, maybe that changed something.

Or maybe I only used it in kubuntu.
Investigation is needed for my curiosity

    • Good compared to what?

      • Exchange, your regularly used PC, printed paper and the list goes on.

I have one. Using USB Flash Speed:

    Read / Write (1MB file size) : 138MB/s / 80MB/s

Although it depends on what USB port I use.

Also, using USBDeview speedtest feature I get 144/35 but the write speed fluctuates between different runs.

Who knows what any of it means.

I use one for the OS in my micro server. Very fast but gets hot

  • Would JB price match this? thanks

    • +8

      You're welcome

    • Might depend on the store and person you speak to, I've had them refuse to price match if they won't still make a significant profit, but also had them price match when I haven't expected them to (Got a google home, a Chromecast and $10 store credit for about $120 by combining a good price match with two promotions they were doing over half a year ago).

      • +2

fair enough, actually remember I had them refuse to price match another jb hi-fi's receipt for a logitech g920, after half an hour speaking to the manager, they finally agreed to do it, went to the computer and it wouldn't let them price match it to $320, and the only other price the computer would allow was like $263.XX so was pretty happy haha they had to settle on that

    • WTF happened to USB sticks?

I havnt bought one for 4 years and decided a needed one and realised they've gone up in price?

      • Not even any eneloops posts anymore? What happened to you guys. You used to be cool.

      • Yeah, I've been waiting for one like this, but it never came. Missed one on MSY site when they had clearance. Only $13 and they still have it there on the site just to salivate on it.

        Well, I am a hard-core Ozbargainer. I'll wait ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • Hmm waterproof you say ? I need a flash drive that is good against certain bodily fluids may check it out

    • Semen for masturbating to pornography stored on the pendrive.

      hur.

Sounds like a USB sticky situation :0

  • X-ray proof? Take that Superman!

I have such drive and I like it a lot because it's indestructible. I used many others before and always ended up with broken plastic where it connects to my key ring. This one is metal and I guess I wouldn't be able to break it even if I wanted to. It does not sit flat with other keys though as someone noted already but for me this is not a big deal.

    • +2

I agree, I've got several of the 16G version and they've been washed, tumble dried multiple times and all still work as new.

  • +1

Has anyone seen any good deals on the 64Gb version lately?

  • Link doesn't work.

    • just tested.. its working.. try different browser or internet..
Edit : looks like some issue while clicking on buy now option..

      • Thanks!

  • Looks like they removed it all together from the search.

  • +1

I had one of these on my keychain, and stopped working after a few months. Bought another one, and same thing. I don't think they can handle the rough life keys go through. Just a heads up, don't store anything super important on there unless it's backed up

    • Why would anyone put a flash drive on a keychain - that is just crazy.

  • +1

Just grabbed one of these to try….

After doing a speedtest, my results were 15-20MB/Sec Max for Writing, and 140MB/Sec Reading… with USB 3.0 and a 5 GIG file.

  • I just used this to get a price match at jb. Thanks BA.
    I don't think it's expired.

    • What did you use? Did you show them this ozbargain post? Because Good Guys seem to have deleted the store page.

      • Ah, I opened the store page in Firefox for Android shortly after the deal was posted, and just had it chilling there all week.

Edit: Shit sorry guys, I don't have the tab anymore, and the link doesn't work.
I would have taken a screen shot for you if I knew.

      • +1

You could give this a try, see if they'll price match it.
I (profanity) out some things in the receipt because I will use it on my tax return, etc: https://imgur.com/a/2FJxO

        • Thanks heaps! I'll give it a go.
I just checked my phone and I also have a chrome tab sitting there with the store page… But chrome automatically reloads old tabs when you go back to them so I'm too scared to try and open it. But the receipt should definitely help.

        • Ok I found a way to open that tab and managed to screenshot it. Here it is for anyone that wants it: https://imgur.com/a/hGZM4

The page states "as advertised price ends 12 March" so I don't see why good guys or JB wouldn't honour it.

    • wow.. cheers :)
