Beeswax Wrap - FREE Trial Wrap (Limit 1 Per Household)

1250

Made with pure cotton fabric, pure Australian beeswax, organic coconut oil and tree resin.
Queen B beeswax wraps are a natural, biodegradable alternative to plastic wrap.

Uses: These wraps will stick to themselves using the warmth of your hands. Simply wrap around the food item (cheese, fruit, veggies), bowl or plate of food to create a seal.

Cleaning: Rinse between uses in lukewarm water with a mild dish soap (like sunlight soap).

Refreshing your wraps: Depending on your usage, your wraps should last between 6-12 months. If they start looking a bit haggard, lay between sheets of baking paper and iron (or pop on baking paper in a 110 degree celcius oven for a few minutes).

It's perfect to put over 1/2 of pretty much anything…

I am actually so confused. Why wouldn't you want your food fully covered?
    +1 for being free though!

    • +40

      None of your beeswax

      • +19

        Buzz off!

        • +21

No need to be rude, honey.

        • +15

          @ronnknee: I can't bee-lieve his attitude.

@froodh: I have to admit, these puns are the bee's knees.

        • +4

He has a bee in his bonnet.

        • Got to keep buzzy

        • +8

One person cracks a bee joke and you can't help yourselves. Talk about a hive mind.

        • +2

          Oh Pooh

        • +3

          Ouch what a stinging reply

        • +1

For gods sake just beehive yourselves

        • +3

          @ronnknee: These puns are apollen.

    • +12

I am planning to use them for tomato, cucumber, mango etc as I often have halves left which i currently wrap in plastic wrap. I think that's what they mean by halves of things. One less thing I use plastic for is always good.

    • +1

I think you put it over the leftover half - i.e. you use half an onion/avo/cucumber, you wrap that half in the beeswax.

    • I am actually so confused. Why wouldn't you want your food fully covered?

I believe they mean cut something, that is already covered, in half (eg. a fruit); use this to cover the now exposed half (the other half remains covered by the skin/peel).

    • Hey pennypincher98,

Just in case you haven't realised yet, put the leftover half that you don't use in the beeswax.

      • +3

When you try to help someone, and they just make fun of you, it really stings.

        Hive never seen such rudeness!

        • Thank you but can you not bee such a pest?

To everyone on OzBargain. Queen B is a business of 2 people (and 4 volunteers because we don't make any money). I work an average 80 hour week (and passionately love what I do).

The 'free' Beeswax Wrap offer which we sent out in a newsletter to our customers was put on here and we have received over a thousand orders. As I am a woman of my word, I will honour every order received prior to 6pm (which is when I stated below that I was taking it down). Unfortunately that means that our customers aren't able to take up the offer as it is down.

I, like all of you, love a bargain. Having run a small business for over 15 years I know that nothing in life of value is truly free. If you have taken us up on our offer, please consider that the wrap we're sending has a cost to us (not just the wrap but the envelope, card, information and labour to handwrite the envelope etc etc). It will take this whole week of our time to process these orders (putting everything else on hold for a week).

Even if you don't intend to ever pay for a beeswax wrap and save our oceans and planet at the same time… every single one of you will give a gift at some stage this year, and if you would consider buying that gift on the Queen B website you'll be supporting Australian beekeepers and the regional communities they live in, this small manufacturing business and the many Australian suppliers we have and we can turn this week into a massive positive for the business.

If you do ever place an order, please put OzBargain in the comments field so that we can tell all of our small business friends what a great community you are and that my debacle literally ended up turning this business around. Thanks for your time.

      Cate

PS Please stop emailing me hoping to get the free trial wrap it takes time to respond to every email. If you sign up for our newsletter (queenb.com.au) you will be the first to know if we put this offer live again or more likely tweak it a little and make people at least contribute the cost of postage.

      • +2

        Good on you queen b.

      • +7

I missed out, but am impressed by your response. Good luck to your endeavours!

      • even the chinese web sites charge for postage when they have free offers to se who really wants it and who is just grabbing it because it’s free.

        • If you are talking about Zapals, people normally grab it because it's cheap (just pay "5% of postage") and just think "it might come in handy one day"

      • +1

        Hi Queen B,
I received your wrap yesterday and put it to use straight away to cover a half used home grown cucumber. I'm in love already and will definitely be putting an order in!

I've been wanting to reduce my use of plastics, and this is an easy first step for anyone looking to do the same.

Hope business turns around for you!

  • Worth a try, noting that the sample is half the size of the normal.

    • Seems to be a quarter according to their website.

The trial wrap is 1/4 of the size of our large beeswax wrap.

Edit: NVM, talking about different sizes.

      • You are correct, I became confused with the 1/2 and the 1/4.

        • Lol ok, so they aren't different sizes? Haha right and wrong D:

        • +2

McDonalds tried the 1/3 pound burger but it failed because Americans thought 1/3 is smaller than 1/4.

  • plus shipping?

    • Nope, free shipping

      • sweet! (no pun intended)

    • Free

    • +5

They don't ship to North Korea.

      • +1

not unless i threaten them with bombs

  • Is this vegan?

    • +7

It's halal certified, paleo and vegetarian but I'm not sure about vegan. Sorry about that.

      • +1

rabbi hasn't blessed it so not kosher and you will go to hell if you use it.

    • +5

No. Beeswax is an ingredient, so it can't be considered vegan.

    • anything made by animals is certainly not vegan so more for non vegans?

    • +1

Just don’t eat it, then it’s technically vegan.

      • +1

Using the word "technically" doesn't make you right when you're flat out wrong.

        • +3

          Jeez, don’t have a cow man…

        • technically it does.

    • Technically not but apparently some vegans eat bee products.

      • -1

        No they don't.

    • Do you know how many poor, defenceless bees suffered in order to produce this?

    • The wax created by bees is secreted from glands on the bees and then made into comb. Because it is product from an animal, I highly doubt it is vegan.

  • +2

Limit one per work address and one per house address

    • -8

Also one per PO box, parcel collect locker and Post Office you can be bothered going to. Or you could order your whole street one and intercept the courier/postman :)

      • +43

Please keep in mind we are a small Australian business hand making a product. We are doing the free trial because we're passionate about bees and the planet and making a difference. It may seem clever to try to game the system, but really you're just potentially putting the nail in the coffin of a small business.

We believe in this product and we're hoping that once people try it they will see that not only does it make sense from an environmental point of view, but it also performs better than plastic wrap for its many functions. Like anything, if this turns into a giant fail we would never do anything like this in the future - so if you're not genuinely interested and you're just doing it for a freebie, then please consider this small business, the bees and the planet before going ahead with your purchase.

        • +5

Anyway we can pay for the product if we happy with it.

        • +4

Hopefully they work as advertised as I will definitely become a customer if they do!

        • @Neatoboy:

They work well if used correctly ( which is not hard ). They keep food fresher without that plastic sweat etc. Allows to breathe and non toxic leaching like plastics, yes, even BPA free is potentially bad as just replace the BPA with slightly other toxic Chemical ingredient.

Been using similar for years now.

      • As for the neggers, were you taking me seriously lol? I couldn't try harder to be more sarcastic.

        • Trouble is, some people read it as "what a great idea, thanks."

        • +1

@ozhunter68: Haha right, I get what you are coming from. Well I'll just put a little disclaimer down here saying I don't endorse any of the above practices, but I know that won't stop people.

But seriously, there is someone who would intercept the courier just to take a few trial wraps??

  • +19

Wow this will work much better than my home made version using ear wax.

    • can you make some for me, the site is out of stock now

  • +8

    Website has been Ozbargained.

    • Yep, was just about to post the same. I'll let this one pass though it would have been actually pretty cool.

    • Somehow managed to get my order through despite all the CF errors. What a shit storm haha

      Thanks OP!

      • What are CF errors nurses… I'll see if I can get it fixed.

        • +2

Can't elaborate on the "CF errors", but many of us are unable to add a payment method and therefore can't complete the purchase.

        • +4

Have you tried recently?…. I fixed the payment method issue several hours ago. (although I am not a programmer… I just had to do it by googling how to fix the issue in magenta)! That's small business for you :-)

        • @queenbshive:

          CF = Cloud Fare

  • -2

I have a feeling these won’t be honored.

    • +19

I've never not honoured anything in my life. What I may do it take the promotion down as it is now being gamed on here. I guarantee every single order until I take it down will be honoured.

      • Thanks rep.

We have done it again. Crash the site.

  • +1

    asking for payment method?

  • +4

Wow website crashed 27 mins after posting

  • +6

    Ozbargained. Website is cactus.

  • +14

We have these and they are incredible, keep food so much fresher than plastic. Skipped this so that more people can (hopefully) experience them and make the switch from plastic wrap.

    • +2

Although I don't doubt they are better than using plastic, why would they result in the food being 'fresher'? Cling wrap has a pretty air tight seal…

      • +8

I have to agree with sw00p. Doesn't make sense, but besides using less plastic they keep food fresh for a ridiculously long time. I had half a red onion wrapped (completely) inside a beeswax wrap since November last year. Used it for dinner last night and it was almost as fresh as the day I cut it.

        • +4

Do you have paramedics on standby?

        • +3

@DuckKnight: Haha. I popped an antihistamine just in case. ;)

      • +4

I know, I was sceptical AF when my wife bought them, but I wrapped a tomato in beeswax and a week later it looked like it was freshly cut, not shrivelled on the edges etc. I don't understand how they work, but they are something else!

      • +2

Air tight might be the problem. Some veges etc probably want breath a bit, instead of completely sealed up.

These cloth are literally cloth + wax, and while wax can form a perfect seal in ideal conditions, the way you mould it with your hand and so probably means the wax layer isn't air tight.

        • Moisture fuels the festering process, you see.

  • +1

    The site waxed and waned.

  • +17

Unable to order…keeps telling me to select a payment method but no option.

    • Having the same problem here

      • same

    • +2

I tried bypassing it by ordering some tealights, adding CC details and then removing the tealights.

Did not work. Same message again

      • same

      • ditto :(

    • +1

the site must be running on beeswax

      • +10

LOL… the site is running on my 90 hour weeks and terrible attempts at fixing Magento! We did initially have an issue because it wanted a payment method even though the price was $0 but I fixed that several hours ago and have had a lot of orders since. Feel free to try again… we will need to take this down shortly unfortunately as I had no idea it would be posted publicly and I will need to see if we get a return on the investment prior to throwing more money at it… we're already down several thousand dollars based on the orders that have come in so far. I'll have to see if that converts to sales :-)

        • +7

ha ha sorry :) I'm really with what you're doing and i will definitely support your product, i'm an ethical shopper. Hope your business works out for you :)

        • that said most ethical people can't take a joke, maybe i hang out with the wrong people lol

        • +2

Maybe consider a discounted offer on regular pricing as I have a feeling you will not get a good uptake from all the freebies here.

Those who missed out may buy one if feedback is good from the free ones

  • +1

Not working on Chrome Android. Asking for payment method but it's not allowing me to choose one.

    • Ordering from Chrome on a PC with the same issue.

    • I'm so sorry Carleast… I'm not sure what I can do to fix that. It appears to have worked for around 1000 other people…

  • +1

I'm going to pull the offer down in 5 minutes because we're being crushed by orders… which will be amazing if the interest in genuine :-)

Time for me to get to back to work!!
