Don’t be a greedy SLURPER: one cup per person

    per location?

    • +11

      Per federal electorate

      • +10

Let’s keep Barnaby Joyce out of this?

        • +16

hes been drinking from another outlet.

        • +1

@tonsta: Slurping from another outlet is probably more accurate.

        • +2

@tonsta: As a supposedly observant Catholic he should have been aware of Proverbs 5:15 “Drink waters out of your own cistern, and running waters out of your own well.”

        • +1

          @Jake Elwood:

Practicing and preaching are clearly two different things to the Beetrooter.

    • +2

I'm bringing a hoodie, sunglasses and a change of clothes on the 28th :)

      • +2

Maybe Barnaby should do the same.

        • Groucho mask FTW

    1. Max dimensions of 23cm (width) x 26cm (height)

    Infinite length?

  • +14

What if there's 2 girls… but only one cup?

    • +7

It's all fun and games till somebody dies from dysentery.

      • +1

Can we perhaps fill the giant cup, then purify it, into a small slurpee of pure syrup :)
Like when Bart simpson found $50 note and got pure syrup slurpee from Mr Nahasapeemapetilon' 24 hr store

    • +6

      No chocolate slurpy

    • -3

What if one girl has A cup and the other has C cup?

    • +2

No one likes a dirty slurp.

      • Oh yes they do.

    • +3

      Username checks out.

  • my 2.2L gym bottle for $1.. hmm..

    • +25

Kind of make the gym pointless doesn’t it ;)

      • He said gym bottle, not the bottle he uses for gym..

        • Gotta ask… what’s the difference?

        • +6

          @coxjon:

One is a bottle he got for the gym

The other is a bottle that he'd use if he actually went to a gym.

Just like my yoga mat, treadmill and generally any exercise equipment.

    Bringing my bathroom tub.

    • +2

Well I guess it is watertight :P

    • +3

      classic broden!
At least you are not bring the kitchen sink too!

      • +6

        Now you can't edit ha

        • +3

          Noooooooooooo

    • +1

Will there be a girl in the tub? Asking for a l friend 😀

  • +4

lmaooo i remember last time 7 11 ran this, some idiot thought it would be cool to bring a funnel and a 20L bucket to my store

    • +1

      Did you kick him out?
I was thinking of doing this just before…doesn't say nothing about using a pipe or hose to get maximum slurpy
Edit: Also if the bucket was outside and the hose went outside you can't yell at me can you?

      • Can you do that for me with the frozen Mountain Dew?

        • Sure through the drive through window

    • Can you confirm or deny if a KFC bucket is considered a cup?

      • +1

I could just imagine it all leaking through the cardboard..

    • +1

      Isn't that kind the idea?!

      https://www.buzzfeed.com/juliareinstein/2016-byoc

Granted this is from the US, but i thought it was a days advertising for 7/11

    • Any cup is fine as long as it fits underneath the slurpee machine nozzle. Yea we told the guy to come back with a smaller cup lool.

  • -8

I hooked up a 900kL water tank onto my trailer and emptied out one outlet last year using 5L buckets. The look on the 30-40 people that came and went while I was there was priceless

    • +1

      900,000L ??? 900 tonnes?

      • +2

We’re gonna need a bigger trailer

    • +8

People like you give Brodenit a bad reputation

    • Idiot

  • Define 'cup'
Might just bring a 3L milk "cup" :)

    • 23 circumference * 26cm height, approx 1.1L max.

      • +3

Width would be diameter not circumference. You’re off by an order of magnitude.

        • +1

Depends if you're willing to argue it when they've obviously made a mistake… For me personally it's as simple as:

1.1L Cup of Slurpee for $1 = Decent bargain
          (Macca's is 945ML $1)
KFC bucket of Slurpee for $1 = WTF?

        • @dyl:

Syrup and water costs nothing, I don't think they care about doing this once a year when they literally give away products through their app or for free on the 7th of the 11th.

          Hardly an 'obvious mistake'.

        • @corbz:

Your comment requires us to ignore the fact of production costs to conclude it's "hardly an obvious mistake".

If one wants to (slightly ignorantly) conclude that, you're free to do so… But again, don't be angry if they refuse your KFC bucket despite it being under the width and height limit.

        • @dyl:

Your comment ignored 2 of my other points about them literally giving away the very product itself for FREE, and then you spout on about ignorance. Rich.

        • @corbz:

You were using this as evidence to low production costs, it again requires a lot of ignorance. It's a pure business decision to give away ~$0.20 of Slurpee in their small cups in hopes you'll make another purchase somewhere.

I don't get how this makes it reasonable for them to offer ~$5+ for $1. This is where ignorance is required - pretending the offering of a free small drink somehow implies it's free for them to produce, then stretching this ignorance to apply for the amount of ~25x more (unsure on exact size of small cup?)

Note the cost of freezing btw. I've seen a ton of shaved ice fetch $400+.

        • Width would be diameter not circumference. You’re off by an order of magnitude

He's off by an order of pi. Or pie. Mmmmm, pie…

  • 23cm (width) x 26cm (height)..

Almost 6L? Did I do the calculation right? Seems like a lot of slurpy.

    • +3

Volume = pie x radius squared x height
      = 3.14 x 11.5^2 x 26
      = 10,796.89 ml

      Convert to litres… about 10.8L

Edit: the above was assuming a cylinder shape…

You're actually better off using a rectangular prism shape.
      Volume = length x width x height
      = 23 x 23 x 26
      = 13,754ml
      = 13.75L

      • Mmmm pie.

    • 23cm circumference I assume. Calculated volume ~1.1L

      • Right… I interpreted width as diameter… can anyone clarify?

        • +3

If the width is diameter you're looking at a KFC bucket, not a cup lol

        • +1

Maybe they shouldn't have used the terminology width. Maybe they should have left dimensions out and just said a maximum of x litres.

        • +1

          @Name:

Nah yeah, I'm in no way defending their marketing team… Just pointing out what I believe they meant. 1.1L sounds quite reasonable imo.

        • +1

@dyl: agree 1.1L for $1 is reasonable… their $2 cup is probably about a litre in volume though.

        • +1

          @dyl:
Yeah agree. Even 1.1L of slurpy would be a lot to drink by yourself.

Maybe I'm getting old but it's way too sweet and I'd get a brain freeze before I'd get anywhere near a litre.

      • Doubt it. They run this promotion every year. If they wanted to sell you 1.1L for $1, they would've just said they're selling the mega size for $1.

Allowing customers to get creative within specified dimensions is a brilliant marketing tactic.

        • Dunno that limiting the cup size to a reasonable size takes away from the marketing tactics though.

  • Don't drink your calories, fatties.

    • What should I do with them then?

      • +6

Leave it in the machine. The largest Slurpee serving has over 150g of sugar in it!

        • +1

wish you hadnt told me that :(

        • +2

@kehuehue: get the slurpie zilched flavours! only like 36 calories per 1L, yea yea insert artificial sweeteners are bad argument here but calories are calories

        • +1

How are they my calories if I leave them in the machine? Someone else will get 'em!

        • @Quantumcat: LOL, a true OzBrgainer.

        • +1

@KeplersLaws: Zilched are still 1% sugar, which is ~10g/l, which is a shitload less, but still a lot :/

I don't buy into the artificial sweetener argument - Pepsi Max is my soft drink of choice!

  • +1

No way I would even bother with this, my local has so many people buying slurpees all the time that you'll often find two of the four machines not ready to use every time you go in

Maybe if they had BYO cup day in winter…

    • Same round here. I rarely want a slurpee, then the 1 day I did want one (was really hot plus had free voucher in app) 3 of 4 was empty. The only 1 running was plain old coke :(

      • -3

So you were in luck then? NFI why anyone wastes their time with flavours other than cola

        • For variety. Plain old coke I have so many times, I guess my taste buds have become tolerant, idk. Some of the new flavours are interesting and delicious.

  • +4

711 slurpee is sugar sweet as hell. might just well ask for eating chunks of icy sugar cubes. 'l need a $1 high blood sugar rush pls. here my infinite length tub!'

  • -1

Does that cup size and specification in terms and conditions mention anything about having a hose into the cup, syphoning slurpee fluid into boot of car and/or into a tanker ?

    • No, but you can sure gear up for some diabetes.

  • +4

Perhaps 7/11 should charge $2 for the slurpee and use the extra $1 to pay their staff the appropriate wage

  • +4

Nice deal. Be kind to the environment and hasten the process of getting Diabetes.

  • -1

bring your own 23cm (width) x 26cm (height) cup? damn!!…..but im asian, im not going all the way down to 7-11 just for half a shot glass of slurpee.

  • Just filled up KFC buckets with a friend.
The actual dimensions that they have in a frame are horseshit.
It's an oval thats 15cm wide and about 25cm tall
Guy told us to just fill it up cos the dimensions listed are dumb
