Ever since their WTF deal (Wed Thurs Fri) their prices have been WTF.
I've been there twice - one was a free birthday lunch and one was a burger and chips. Was expensive. Nice food, but if it comes to a crossroads between taste and cost, I'll go the cost every time. But it wasn't that bad I guess because the birthday lunch was free :)I'd buy from there more if it was better value
And if some of the stores kept up their cleanliness.
As i mentioned, been a long time since i was at a Nandos, the few i went to were't too bad, but there was definitely room to improve.
Staff were also a bit impatient from memory.
A 1/4 chicken and one side is about the same price as an upmarket burger or a plate of Thai noodles, but I can see people might want larger portions. They have probably decided which sector to target so just vote with your wallet if it costs too much. I eat about once a month, and membership gets me 10% off, plus I get a birthday meal so that's nearly 20% off over a year. Again, I suspect what people are reacting to is the portion size.
That's a fair comment,
I must agree i was a little let down by portion.
The birthday thing sounds alright, maybe something to look into, can break my 3-5 year Nandos drought!
The local does pre-bottled drinks too which might add to the issue, they're like $3 or $4 for a 600ml.Appreciate the replies, you never know what you're going to get on OZB sometimes, i thought i'd cop hatemail and downvotes.
I just bring my own can of drink (but I drink after leaving the shop to avoid offense).
I find Nando's really expensive as well. I have many friends who love Nando's and I don't see the appeal, especially at the pricing.
Make sure to order the Perinaise chip dip. Its a spicy mayo dip, you cannot eat the chips without it.
Plain chips go well with their peri peri sauce which is free (mild/medium/hot/xtra hot). If you order Peri Peri chips doesn't need dip, just a dash of vinegar.
How do I get this offer?
Asking here as i assume others who like Nando's will be looking…
I tried them a few times about 5 years or so ago and found them really expensive.
The food was really nice, but not special enough to justify the price i thought.
Am i a lone tightarse or are there other people thinking along those lines?
No need to neg people, just putting a thought out for comment.
