The best part is these are the same ones Sting used to wear in WCW

  • I thought these were gonna be gloves that car mechanics wear. Was thinking, "Hooray, no more skinned knuckles when i loosen a tight nut".

But they are just regular spandex gloves with the word Mechanix obnoxiously emblazoned all over them. Haha.

I am yet to see any of my mechanics using gloves, so i guess that was a red flag.

these have saved me from skinned knuckles many a times. Have good flex and protection where you need it.
They have an OK feel when manually fastening bolts and nut, not too cumbersome and are breathable. If you're using an impact gun all day long, maybe not the gloves for you, but for everything else, they're da bomb.

picked up two pairs. thanks OP.

these have saved me from skinned knuckles many a times.

If I don't wear gloves I always skin my fists.

skinned fists, abrasions, burnt hands, carcinogens in oil, dirt and grime getting lodged into places, where other than a sturdy 10 min scrub or soaking them in laundry soap, is very difficult to get get out. Gloves work.

Protects your fingernails too if you're a classical guitarist.
          * "now where did my nail polish go"

my missus borrows mine to do the gardening ffs. Found this out when I next used them and noticed green smears all over my motorbike.

@nuno: You could get her the women's variety.

        Cheers for the feedback, nuno.

    • my mechanic, who's in his 60's and never used to wear gloves at all, now wears them regularly.

it's still a personal choice, although apprentices these days have it drilled into them that they need to wear PPE.

      • If he's anything like my dearly departed dad, he had old-man thin skin and his heart medication thinned his blood, so the lighest knock would cause a never-clotting stream of blood.

Edit: No, he didn't die from sump plug induced blood loss. Haha.

  • I usually buy these from AliExpress for the fraction of the cost. As someone mentioned, it's just spandex gloves with a writing on it :)

you mean the inferior counterfeit ones that were pulled off aliexpress for obvious reasons ? they were cheap and nasty and didnt last long. the wrist and velcro strap were very ordinary.not to mention the stitching.
Bought two pairs and as soon as they unraveled I let the dogs play with them.

      • Those ones - you are right, they aren't on AliExpress any more :)

Thanks sween, I've been on the prowl for a deal on gloves for a long time.
