Not as good as the last promo but still decent pricing. Given all the negative reviews and feedback from last years issues I was hesitant in joining Buzz but I figured with no setup fees and no contract it was worth a shot and I must admit, I've been pleasantly surprised and impressed with just how great the customer service has been. No congestion to report yet, no dropouts and certainly value for money in my experience so far.

No company offers prices under cost and continues to have good service.

Geez, can some of you doomsayers on this thread give it a bit of a rest? I hear you. Some have had a rough ride with Buzz. I have ongoing issues with the NBN re my line condition. Name an ISP that does not have issues. Life is full of disappointments. Geez.

Some of us are doing quite nicely on Buzz Telco thank you, and have received superior customer service from an outfit that overtly wants to make amends for the 2017 fracas that was (from reading up) not totally their fault. Some have always done fine on the Buzz service.

I for one are not paying the bargain below floor price flogged by Buzz on OzBargain in January. I don't fit your fictitious revenue model.

Gotta love the contributors on here that think they are privy to confidential customer stats re growth and revenue mix. A lot of crystal ball gazing, hazing - and downright disruptors on here. Allow us happy ones to just move on - allow us to enjoy our savings in true OzBargain fashion with Buzz - even if momentarily and monetarily. Point is, we can walk if things go pear shaped again and so could others.

So yeah, there is minimal risk from a customers point of view in giving Buzz a second go whether you like it or not.

Oh and something else I would like to bring to your attention. By a cruel twist of fate, some of us are locked into shitty infrastructure called the NBN FTTN. That means for some of us, a capped existence on the so called superlative 21st century NBN FTTN - never to exceed 25/5. So while we may have champagne ISP tastes and dreams, by the very fact of the network limitation imposed upon us - we will always receive a D grade service irrespective of what we pay and who we pay. All this shit about CVC and the like means nothing to the few impoverished FTTN customers about the place - who receive a glorifed ADSL 2 service on FTTN.

And if we dare to dream - to avail ourselves of promotional pricing on a so called "blue chip network", you may encounter an insidious denial of service creeping into the FTTN mix. ABB is one of those ISP's that practice "node profiling" whereby their assessment of a 80% node congestion factor denies you their service sign up until such time they are able to to "invite you in". While that is mighty fine and honorable for existing customers in giving them a feeling of a somewhat contentious service guarantee sans congestion (at a high price point), it is something to watch out for in the future in a neighborhood FTTN ghetto near you. ISP profiling may grow along with the NBN customer "haves - aka snobs" putting the boot in for good measure.

So a double whammy for those on shit nodes, and for some of us who have very restricted budgets. So going with a cheaper provider for some of us is a no brainer, but there is no need impose the guilt on us for giving Buzz a go. I am totally happy with the Buzz price point and service delivery, and my needs, taking into consideration the hobbled network at my place. Nothing so far about Buzz feels cheap. Get what I mean?

  • My double data with Aussie BB had run out so back to 100Gb 😒.
I will give these guys a go, Can someone him me up with a referral code?

  • Just switched out of Telstra to Buzz. Got it the next day. After a reboot, my Telstra Gateway modem was working just fine on Buzz, as advised by the support. Even went for the 50mbps tier that I couldn't justify under Telstra. Getting 46Mbps under Fast.com. Pretty happyt so far. Will let you know if it degrades at peaktime on weekdays.

    Good Luck

  • Got my first outage this morning :(.

    • Outages happen, even with the more expensive providers. What’s important is how they communicate and act on it and it looks like they’re aware of it…

      • Even after a week, they couldn't fix my situation. Switched to Mates Communicate and pretty happy so far, $6 cheaper too.

  • Too much gamble with this one. I signed up last offer, got activated 4 days ago, but couldn’t connect. Been in contact with their CS and I guess they have no clue on what’s happening. So, if ur connected on 1st try, ur fine, but otherwise, good luck :(

Yes, Buzz had problems last year. So far, it seems they've learnt a few things and have survived.
My connection is woeful, but that's down to the badly corroded cable (yup, on stupid outdated FTTN). NBN won't replace it no matter what we've done.
However, even with my connection and speed problems, it has been more reliable than Telstra in this area. I know people on Telstra, some have gone days without connection, then when it's working it's slow. They pay about 100% more than I do!

  • Just got my 100MB NBN plan connected today. Sync is according to my modem 32/16 but throughput at 10PM is 9Mb down 3 up … on ADSL 2 I had 8.2 down and 900k up… so I guess its an improvement, lol? Time will tell if this is normal or an outlier. Think they will let me step down to the 50MB plan at the same special rates since I signed up on a plan speed that it won't even sync at (I did do some online research prior to signing up and given the estimated distance to the nearest node ~370m it was estimated I would get 60-70MB).

    • They did it for me moved me to the 50/25 plan my speeds were simaler to yours.33/21

      • in my haste in my numbers above I was getting Mega Bits and Mega Bytes mixed up .. so yeah looks like I am getting most of that 32Mb sync most of the time.

Out of interest have you had any trouble with service like Netflix since you joined? my mobile, iOS, and TV apps don't work - desktop PC/ browser is fine. Online it looks like the router needs to have the MTU adjusted - which I tried to no avail. Got Buzz on the phone and they suggested changing it too .. but nothing seems to work.
