  • never been to event gold class. is this same as recliner seat at hoyts?

can we use event adult voucher and paid extra $5 on this? that makes a good value

    • I’ve never been to hoyts but I think the GC recliner is much bigger

    • Gold class has big space between seats

$5 MORE than you would pay for a standard adult ticket on any session

I would pay $10. So does that mean $15 for gold class? Or does this only apply to idiots who normally buy $20 tickets?

    • I would like to know this as well

      • Just had a look. I normally pay $10 for movie tickets as well. The gold class ticket discounted came to $27. The price of a normal ticket was $22. Looks like it goes off the base price :(

"apply to idiots who normally buy $20 tickets?"

Seriously, you are referring to those who avoid signing up to Cinebuzz as "idiots"?

Please understand nothing in this world is free.

Those who sign up to Cinebuzz agree to
have their information collected and possible sold to other companies.

For some people having a company track or sell their viewing activities is not worth saving a few dollars.

Therefore, not being a Cinebuzz is understandable.

      • I don't have a cinebuzz account just use Telstra thanks for cheap tickets.

        • This requires a person to be with Telstra and so is no grounds to call a person an idiot.

        • @Atazoth616: This is just one many of the ways to get discounted tickets there are HEAPS of options.

        • @knobbs:

          Using the same logic:

There are also various reasons that one might not take advantage of a movie discount besides the reason of being an idiot.

So what exactly is your point?

        • @Atazoth616:

Don't get triggered so easily. We are all 'idiots' sometimes.
A telstra SIM is $2. You can give fake details for cinebuzz. They make it vewry easy to get $10 tickets, except on saturday nights, for obvious reason.

        • @manic:

The post was not a trigger.

What happened was a posted premise was unsound therefore it was challenged.

The premise can be considered unsound as not everyone who pays for a full priced ticket at events cinemas is an idiot.

This style of premise is a logical fallacy known as a hasty generalisation.

Logical fallacies are considered unsound and comments that utilise logical fallacies are considered unsound.

So in essence I was just being pedantic about a comment being unsound because it used a logical fallacy.

          "A telstra SIM is $2."

Requires knowledge that Telstra sims are sold for $2 and can be used to acquire cheap tickets.

Depending on the person they might also consider this a hassle and time waste could outweighed the savings*.

"You can give fake details for cinebuzz."

Some people are not comfortable with being dishonest.

          *Time is commodity.

        • @Atazoth616:
          Hi,

The premise can be considered unsound

          taken literally, yes.

Keep in mind, this is a cinebuzz promo. So its a reasonable assertion that $10 is the normal price for people targeted by this promo.

        • @manic:

Simply put, not all cinebuzz members have access to the same deals.

          Case example:

Event Cinemas at Kotara offers members $20 tickets to any gold class session.

This is not true for the Event Cinemas at Campbelltown.

Therefore, considering this fact it is possible that some Event Cinemas might not offer $10 standard tickets to Cinebuzz members.

Because of this it is better to have stated some or majority instead all.

Still this is just me being pedantic.

  • My question exactly

  • Can't see how to use the deal to book on the event website. Have signed in to cinebuzz, but don't see option anywhere. Would love to use tonight.

  • Logged in and not working for me either. No mention of it in the deals section

  • I don't see this deal in my account.
    Is this a targeted offer?

  • Can't see this offer as well

  • Dont forget the online booking fee !

  • Targeted. Wife got it, I didn't…

  • I received the same email and logged in but the prices all weekend are normal, I have sent Event an email, will report back when I hear from them.

  • Just in time to see Phantom Thread. Daniel Day Lewis' last film and one of the highest rated films of the decade.

    • Just saw it, it was good. It’s no action film, I’m not into love stories or classic style films but this one kept me interested.

  • The offer comes up where you would normally go to buy gold class tickets. It’s up the top for me.

  • I’m cinebuzz and it doesn’t show
