already had 3 of these deals ,all i did was use a different email address
        still used same delivery address
and created a new login with the different email used

        • So you didn't have to port to another carrier first?

        • Can i ask why you purchased 3?

I was going to do the same thing as you because i intermittently need data for my tablet when i'm out then activate when i need it, however i read:

"Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 28/02/2018. Activation must be made before the voucher expiry date. Voucher does not apply to subsequent recharges."

So it doesn't really work like i wanted it to.

        • +1

@sourmango: Not sure he meant 3 at once. I've used these Kogan deals a few times but always ported out first. And then could port back in using the same email address without problem.

        • @BarryTheUnbrave: which provider do you normally port out to? and how long do you keep it running for? From memory, it isn't recommended to port out then port back in straight away.

        • @tempura: Just depends what deals I've picked up. I've got a stack of Lebara and Optus SIMs here that I picked up for $5 at various times. The Optus ones don't appear to have an expiry on them.

        • +3

          I've used
          same email address
          same delivery address
and didn't create a new login with different email used.

I was a new customer every time :)

          @tempura:

I ported out to amaysim 4 months running.
port out to amaysim 5 - 6pm day of expiry.
Port back to Kogan 7am next morning.
worked fine three times. Fourth time it was messed up and took a full next day (3rd day) to resolve.

Since then I have ported out to woolworths for a month and then back.
To Telsta for 5 days with their 5 day $5 deal before christmas.
Planning next port out for late Feb, might be vodafone this time.
I have paid a total of $65 for mobile in the past 12 months (for unlimited calls and texts and 10-23GB every month)

        • @bargainparker: Yes you can order again if you've ordered before as long as you set up a new service/ number.

        • @gikku: how long did u actually need to wait for each port in and port out..

        • +1

@gikku: lol 65 bucks for 12 months, wow you're my idol. Now i just gotta find that 'new provider'.

        • @sourmango: i bought 3 over a period of time(not all at once) i do not have internet on ,so i access the net through my phone ,sometimes i need more data for updates these days everything electronic gets an update…
          so that's the reason …

        • @BarryTheUnbrave: No Barry just use the new number that comes with sim …they give you 2 sim cards so you just use the 2nd sim card when another deal comes up as they send you a code via email to redeem the offer

        • @gikku: But you had to work too hard and you aren't counting the amount worth your time yet. The true OzBargainer longs for a cheaper but long term solution.

        • +1

@gikku: $84 total for two mobiles ($42 each) in the past 12 months using various prepaid offers amaysim, voda, ovo, kogan etc

        • my cousin recieve 2 sims, 1 sims already being use for the kids and parents considering get Kogan deal for her self which both under parent name. can the parent use extra sims that comes with the package for the kids instead of waiting for the sims?

        • @apokalypsez: I certainly don't see any reason why you cannot use any Kogan sim card. It is the activation code you receive in the email that matters, and then up to you which sim card (each comes with mobile number you can use if you wish). In the activation process you decide whether to port your old mobile number or not. Likewise your cousin could have used either of the 2 sim cards. Whether you retain the same mobile number or not you only need a Kogan sim card to activate.

    • As is always explained with these Kogan SIMs, a new customer = a new account, not a new person. Sometimes people do say they couldn't activate more than x accounts, but I've had many of these SIMs without that problem. So who really knows why it happens. The solution is to get more than one bank account.

      • I have 3 accounts that are all in my name, as I was the one to pay the bills. I ported 2 mobile numbers over to Kogan; just made process easier to retain them in my name. Makes no difference really although they do ask in the activation process if you have more than 5 active accounts. Any prepaid account not recharged within a year usually drops out of the system entirely. Not sure how that works with the 365 day accounts though.

        • they do ask in the activation process if you have more than 5 active accounts

are they talking about 5 kogan accounts or any prepaid service?

        • @CVonC: I am not absolutely sure now, but I think it was any 5 accounts (5 sim cards). You should find the question in an early step of the online activation process.

        • @JediJan:

yeah I mean, are they saying 5 kogan prepaid accounts, or 5 prepaid accounts all up from other providers too?

        • @CVonC:
Quick online check … Step 1 of 7 the first question is:

"Do you have four (4) or more active Pre-Paid services and activation this will make that total five (5) or more active Pre-Paid services?"

          https://accounts.koganmobile.com.au/activation

I take that as meaning pre-paid accounts no matter who they are with.

No idea what happens if you do.

    23GB not 32GB

    • +10

      32GB not 23GB

    • +6

No, this isn't the Extra Large 23GB plan. This is the 16GB Large plan with a bonus 16GB for the first month. Both plans currently cost the same $7.90 for "new customers".

      • ppl like me r thinking the ad agency made a typo 23-32GB so clicked to jump before it gets pulled. lol!

But no, the ad agency is Ruslan's in house crew and the deal is real. Doh, won't by it now :X

  • +2
  • Can you get this and then apply a different 365 voucher?

    • +1

Don't see a reason why you cannot. You can use this for the first month and after the first month, add your 365 day voucher. But make sure that your 365 day voucher is not expired by the end of the first month

    • +4

Also, when signing up for the first month, make sure to turn off the auto recharge option. Otherwise it will automatically rollover to the plan that you started on.

    • yes

  • +1

Dang they removed the other 365 day plan discounts already

    • Yeah good thing kogan saved my cart before it expired.

  • Can’t stack the 365 day deal with a $50 voucher anymore?

    • Why not ?

      • The original post description had a link to $50 vouchers from eBay which would lower the price from $152 to $122. That part of the description seems to have been deleted. Also from the kogan mobile website: “Voucher cannot be used in conjunction with any other vouchers or promotional offers.”

        • It should stack fine, not sure why it was removed.

        • +1

Wow.. that seems to be a new development! Can someone confirm if vouchers still work with mobile plans?

        • @virhlpool:

$20 and $30 off vouchers worked me with with 2gb 12 month plan.

        • @design2last:

It means thr combo of vouchers would work too I reckon.

        • +1

          @doweyy:

Maybe it was removed from the OP because if it was to broadly publicized that everyone would do it and Kogan would remove that option.

        • @virhlpool: yep, I bought two plans last night with vouchers bought on ebay :-)

        • @Spizz: Why wouldn't it work only for the OP's (@dfk367) account?

        • @DBMJ: you must have had the $50 discount applied to the original price, not the discounted price?

        • @dfk367:
          No.
It’s probably just that those vouchers expired 31 Jan.

        • @dfk367: You scared my a** off, mate. I saw straight $42 additional expense going out of my pocket. :-)

        • @dfk367:

you must have had the $50 discount applied to the original price, not the discounted price?

It doesn't matter. Voucher is like cash. You can use them irrespective of if price is regular or discounted unless it's a 'recent development'.

        • +1

          @virhlpool:
I used one 2 days ago. Bought $50 off voucher for $7 on ebay and got the 365 day 2gb deal.

    • what $50 voucher?

      • $50 Off $120

        • how do you stock that code to buy mobile plans? Thanks

        • i wonder this aswell about Voucher/Gift Cards…

    • No it can't!

  • Damn, I might port away from Telstra prepaid for a month just to save $22.10, 32GB will more than cover my Apple Music streaming for the month.

  • +1

Maybe it's time to move to the 365 kogan plan if Amaysim doesn't counter offer a better one.

    • you on that 3 month Groupon deal as well?

I've got about a month to find a better deal

  • So is this $7.90 locked in or only for the first month ? I understand the double data is only for the first 30 days.

  • So does this sim only last 30 days or can you recharge 7.90 a month?

    • The SIM only last for 30 days when you recharge, chance is you will pay more than 7.90 .. depends on what the promo is at that time.

      • so if i only use it for 30 days and it'll cancel itself after that?

        • +1

Just like any other prepaid services, you just won't be able to make call, browse the net but I believe you still be able to receive calls.

        • cool, ill just do that then and use the 23gb of data.

        • @BarneyM8: you meant 32?

        • @tempura:
yeah, mistype. But 32gb for $7.90 is good enough for me.

  • no $5 .. good enough $7.90; just need to find a stepping stone before 31/03.

    • me too, expired on 10/02

does anyone know, what will happen with the service number when Pre-Paid plan expired?

need to keep the number -.-

      • +3

I know .. nothing will happen to your MSN .. unless you leave it like that for a period of time.

If you do not recharge your account after your plan expires, you will still be able to receive incoming calls and text messages for 20 days, and make calls to emergency services for 90 days. To assist you to recharge your account, you can call the Kogan Mobile Customer Care team anytime on 12612, even if you don't have an active service. Please note: Your mobile phone number will be reserved for 90 days past plan expiry. If you do not recharge within 90 days, you will not be able to keep your existing mobile phone number, and your account will be deactivated. Once your mobile number is lost Kogan Mobile is unable to retrieve it for you.

I'm new to Kogan, so could someone just sanity check for me:

I purchased a 365 Large voucher a few days ago, and just received the sim card today. Voucher expires on 28 Feb. If I purchase one of these 30 day vouchers, I can load that first, use that until 28 Feb, and then load my 365 Large?

As I understand it, I will lose the last few days of the 30 day voucher, and any remaining data, once I load the 365 Large. But, the first month (well, 28 days) will be cheaper and will way more data.

    Does that sound right?

    • I purchased a 365 Medium voucher a few days ago, and just received the sim card today. Voucher expires on 28 Feb, I believe. If I purchase one of these 30 day vouchers, I can load that first, use that until 28 Feb, and then load my 365 Medium?

Not sure about that man … dunno if that voucher can be used like a recharge kinda thing .. from my understanding (please correct if not correct), you will need different provider in between.

      • Why do you say that?

The 365 voucher says: "Valid for new and existing Kogan Mobile customers" and "Activation or recharge must be made before the voucher expiry date."

So that seems to imply that the 365 prepaid vouchers can be used as a recharge, no?

        • So that seems to imply that the 365 prepaid vouchers can be used as a recharge, no?

          Yup looks right

    • +3

      @caprimulgus - that's exactly what I did. Works fine… :-)

      • +1

        Cheers! :)

        • You can as already pointed out. Just put the 23gb voucher on and then add the 1 year voucher before expiry. You will loose what is left on the first voucher though.

    • yes

  • Damn where was this deal yesterday?! Ended up taking an annual contract :( I'd have jumped all over the yearly deal. Anyways thanks EC.

    • Cooling off period?

    • +1

Expired deal yesterday but $4.90 deal which was on for a couple months at least and was even free a month before that. Seems like they are slowly ramping up the price.

  • No. it can't stack!!!! I used the voucher to recharge and the expiry date changed to 01/02/2019, but my original plan will expire in March. Do not stack!!!!

    • +1

Might be worth contacting support and see if you can get that reversed.

    • +2

If you called them they would had refunded what it left. Call them now they might still refund left allowance (you need original order number )

      • thanks, but nobody answered the phone.

        • +2

Last time took 50 minutes . Just use a mobile on speaker, hopefully they’ll answer.

  • Anyone knows their customer service email?

    • +2

They don't have customer service email. You can raise a ticket on 'contact us' page. You'll need to cross some hurdles of 'standard FAQs' before it will let you do it though. Smart systems these days keep check on incoming communication to the customer service team.

  • Can I use this as a recharge for my current kogan number?

    • No, the 1 month deal is new customers only as per the post.

  • I'm pretty sure the Kogan Small was around 120-130 a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure because I bought my brother it for 150-160 last April and was surprised by the lower price

    • -1

what??? $120-$130 for a Kogan Small for 30 days plan? no way .. even Telstra doesn't cost that much.

      • +1

        That’s $130 for a year, not month.

    • +1

      That would've been with a $20 or $30 voucher. It's never been below $152.10.

      • Kogan small plan has been that price without vouchers before:

Kogan Mobile Yearly Unlimited Plans: $10.90/1.5GB
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/325130

I've never paid much more than $10 a month ever.

        • Yeah that was when it was 1.5GB. But the upgraded 2GB plans have never been below $152.10. Although I suppose you can argue the fact that those on the 1.5GB were upgraded to 2GB for free.

  • +1

I have just bought Small plan 365 days for $152- $50 (50 off 120 spend for only $8.35 link below)= $102 + $8.35 = $110.35 work out $9.20/month. Not bad at all. You will get 2 separate voucher code $30 & $20 but you can still use both voucher for this purchase. I have done this and work absolutely fine. You will received $50 voucher code straight to your inbox after you make the purchase. Best of luck!!!!!

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kogan-50-Off-120-Spend-Voucher-G…

    • all these vouchers were advertised expiry on 31-01-2018. Can you still use them?

      • No.
