Nokia 6, 5.5" inch Snapdragon 430, 32GB + 3GB RAM, Android 7 Outright Smartphone (Black or Silver) $348 @ JB Hi-Fi

80

Found this at Jb HiFi Melbourne Central. I think it is nationwide and online. Must add shipping if you buy online. The price is similar to the last Harvey Norman deal.

  • Just be aware that this is only the Snapdragon 430 processor…

Also there is a newly released Nokia 6 with a Snapdragon 630 processor that's soon gonna hit the shelves. I reckon this model will get cheaper when the new one comes.

      • Yeah, that is what I meant :)

this isn't good IMO because for $355 you can get the AXON7 from office works with a snapdragon 820 processor… which runs rings around a SD 430

yep, the axon seems to be the current bench mark for phones with good processor, and band 28 …. and it even had australian warranty ……..

I thought it was $299 but was hard to find because it's a clearance item?

      • +2

$299 is the Grey colour model which is well not in stock any where. $355 is the Gold colour model which is in stock online.

  • I bought this for 330$ from Harvey Norman last year around oct'17.. I was offered this price while asking moto g5s.

    Just saying

Finding local stock Axon 7 for $299 is like having a selfie with a unicorn 🦄…

I don't see this as very good value at this stage. Unless you are in dire need for a replacement now I would wait for next gen hardware later this year. The reason being the snapdragon 450 should be the new SoC type used in the cheaper mid tier devices and it's a nice step up over the 430, it's more like a lower clocked snapdragon 625. The other reason is if you buy a phone that shipped with oreo you get treble support.

Anyone interested in what treble is about can read here:

  • Wouldn't you be better off with a Redmi Note 4X for half the price and better cpu?

I guess it depends what you value. Xiaomi phones aren't designed for Australia so end up usually missing bands that are used on our networks. I found typically the camera is poor on their phones, coverage and reception is worse. Then there's the lack of warranty, vendor roms and features missing like no nfc. Some people are happy to forgo these things to get excellent bang for buck hardware. Great battery life, with a good screen and good performance are clearly the Xiaomi strengths.

  • I love "Chinadroid". However, they mostly don't have NFC. I love paying with my phone. I don't need to bring my bulky wallet.

    • Then you haven't heard about the Bankwest paypass ring.

  • I paid $328 for a 64gb/4gb model last year with Australian warranty.

  • you can get htc u ultra with similar price on ebay
