      • hey rep, any chance, you can change the price to $300? for trs purposes.

        • +2

          this was done for you.

Good guys has the clear cases and glass screen protectors for the G5+ for $5 each.

  • Anyone going for the new Moto's

    It's G5 not G5S series

keeping that aside, these phones are really great.

    • +5

yes your correct.. but correct me if i am wrong .. this one still has 2 sim card PLUS micro-SD .. as compared to the newer one that is 1 sim PLUS 2nd sim OR microSD.

      • you are correct

    • I used to have moto, now have LG V20, next phone will be moto again, great value and clean android.

  • Cool

  • Whats the difference between this (the G5 Plus) and the G5s Plus?

    • Which is the one with the removable battery?

I was hoping to wait out on purchasing a new smartphone until Oreo (Project Treble) phones are in the pipeline but if the Moto G6 and beyond all have sealed batteries, I may pick up one of the older models.

      • neither

      • +1

The Moto G5+ and G5S+ both have sealed batteries. The one you want with removable battery still is the G5. Not sure what's happening with regards battery removal for next G6 series yet.

        • +1

Is Removable Battery really such a big deal?

        • @datzed: I've actually always wanted it and it's a "nice to have" but I've just come to accept that it's extremely rare and not really a thing anymore.

In addition, in my mind, you normally wouldn't change the battery of a phone until at least 2 years, by which point you might already be looking to change anyway.

        • @datzed: I take it you've never followed a 15 step instructional video on replacing your phone's battery?

For optimal life, phone batteries need replacing every couple of years and it was much simpler just slipping off the back cover on my Mum's old phone than following said video for my own.

Or you could pay some guy at a shopping mall upwards of $50 - your choice.

@illumination: The Moto G series were one of the few remaining options, so if they've dropped the feature then one incentive to buy Motorola just disappeared.

        • +1

@pcox: They were indeed. But I've realised it really is a non-issue to me, and based on the trends, I assume most others.

As I said, by the time you'd need to replace your battery, you're probably in the mood for changing your phone by then.

I can only imagine this not being the case for older folks.

        • @pcox: It would definitely be a nice feature to be able to replace batteries, but I don't think it would be high on my list of priorities. Especially considering the number of apps on a phone would have more bearing on phone performance than a fresh battery after 18 months.

        • same …. 3rd part batteries are crap, genuine are expensive so when it's time for new battery, might be time for a new phone.

Don't think we will see Android suppliers offering the Apple $35 new battery deal.

        • @garage sale: It was $10 delivered off ebay for a genuine Samsung battery for Mum's phone. I wouldn't call that expensive.

      • +1

Removable battery is a nice option when your phone completely freezes.

OP, your website clearly shows "Free Shipping" so why is it $308.50 shipped and not $300 shipped?

    • +2

Imported EU version, it only has 3GB of RAM.

The Asia Pacific version, (which this is), has 4GB.

    $260 delivered here: https://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/motorola-moto-g5-pl…

From experience, I had a phone delivered in 2 days from these guys.

    • +4

That's grey import though, would definitely be worth paying the premium to have Local Warranty.

      • They do a 24 month warranty. You just have to mail it back to them. Not living in Sydney, I take I'd have to do the same with these guys.

EDIT: Yeah, okay. Grey import is a different matter.

        • +5

It comes with a Motorola Aus Warranty, which can be repaired at any Authorised Dealer, much better than returning to HK and being out of a phone for ages. Aus repairs take a lot less time.

        • +1

@doweyy: Also, the one I linked has 3GB RAM, as opposed to the 4GB one posted here. Had a quick look. No other model has a 4GB RAM, so this is pretty good then.

        • @flaminglemon: Actually there's a US version, (XT1687), which is 4GB/64GB if you don't mind missing out on Dual SIM, B28 and NFC, (but you do get a compass and CDMA).

Special Price is NOW over!! Thank you for the support.. you can still buy at normal pricing if needed.

    • +1

Keep the Moto deals coming …. I'm sure Lenovo want more market share in Australia, and Moto have limited Australian retailers (sad).

I'm sure the Moto AM or BDM would like to see some Moto promotion leadership from a dealer.

  • I'm confused, OP has put in the title "Reduced to clear" but they were for sale for less than 4 hours and you can now purchase them at normal price?

    • hi,
yes we had about 15 units to CLEAR which all sold.

  • just missed out - sure you dont have one more at this price?

    • +1

Call the office and ask for chris… and he MAY be able to get you a deal.
      I CANNOT guarantee it.

  • Thanks OP for the deal. Me and my dad ordered one each. Was a bit confused to find an Invisible Shield squeegee, cloth and application solution. Did you throw this in by accident?
