Dell Inspiron 13-5000 13.3" 2-in-1 FHD Touchscreen Laptop with 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD, i5-8250U $848.30 @ JB Hi-Fi

160

JB HiFi is currently doing a 15% off laptops and this one caught my attention.
Don't be confused, as JB is also selling the 7th gen one with 128GB SSD at the same price.
RAM and SSD should be upgradable if I remember correctly.
Enjoy!

4gb ram is brutal, I have a 5th gen ultrabook and the 4gb of ram is a major bottleneck.

just buy another 4GB RAM and install it…

Even another 2GB of ram.. I think they are like $15 on Kogan lol.

4GB RAM in 2018 is ludacris. For my uses, even 8GB isn't ideal…

I'd put RAM 4GB in title, I wont even look at it if it has 4GB

  • I think it states the wrong graphics chip

RAM for some of these kinds of laptops is soldered on, so not upgradable. Apparently it varies for each model. Best to confirm with Dell, because if 4GB is not upgradable, this is not a good machine to buy.

    • 4GB, DDR4, 2400MHz; upto 32GB (additional memory sold separately)

The 8gb model gets average review at laptopmag.com, though that's at full listed price.

The 4gb one might still be a good buy at -15% , as long as you're ok with the screen.

Pros / Solid performance; Accurate audio; Decent viewing angles

Cons / Stiff keyboard; slow SSD; Dim screen

Verdict / The Dell Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1 offers solid performance and build quality at an affordable price, but a dim screen and stiff keyboard make this machine a mediocre choice.
