We can tell it is your first post by the yellow L plate. (Thanks for not asking us to be gentle.) I was puzzled that you bothered to upload a picture (harder to do) rather than fill in the link.

Congrats on your first post. You've waited long enough. Seven-year itch?

  • Hello first poster. You get my upvote.
I was actually looking for one of these.

Don't expect good result for grinding coffee beans. This type of grinder gives inconsistent and uncontrollable ground size.

      • Any suggestion for a better grinder around this price point?

You'll be looking at manual grinders. Here is a page with some suggestions.

I think alvian is referring to the fact that all the blade grinders are similar in that they chop the beans at high speed and aren't very consistent, designed more for spices or herbs. A proper burr grinder provides much better results.

          @The Bolta:

          This guy grinds.

        • @The Bolta: yeah I'm using this for spices. Don't drink enough coffee to buy freshly roasted beans

  • @man2000 thank you. Got one.

  • I got one last week at this price from JB Home (Price matched)
JB staff was a bit annoyed, but that's their policy!

  • I use one of these for making spice rubs for ribs. Does a good job, but as others have commented probably not consistent enough for coffee due to blade grinder (vs burr grinder).

  • Thanks OP, got one.

  • I have one of these. Does the job.

  • I have one and use it to ground coffee for cold press coffee and does a great job. Also use it to grind fennel seeds

  • I can imagine that these units would be very difficult to clean properly. Certainly wouldn't be going from spices to coffee unless you want chilli coffee

  • Perfect for grinding pepper in bulk. My similar one broke so thank you

  • Yeah I have one. It's paperweight now.

I bought the Smart Grinder Pro that is also on sale now for $160.

    I haven't looked back since.

I need to think of a way to use this paperweight.
