20% off Mattresses: Double: $212 Queen: $244, King: $276 (Free Shipping for Most) @ ZZZ Atelier eBay

PRAWNS

Cheap mattress in a box prices, especially good for those in places where local selections are overpriced or limited.

I actually bought one of these last weekend with the 5% off code am waiting for it to arrive so unfortunately I can't comment on quality/experience yet. I will update when I can. From reading online, there doesn't seem to be too much info but mainly happy customers, eg. http://whrl.pl/Re4AbD For the price I reckon it seems like a pretty good thing.

Unfortunately no free shipping for: QLD South East, Northern Territory, QLD Regional, Perth Metro, QLD Far North, WA Regional, SA Regional, Tasmania, WA Remote, PO Box

However, I'm in Darwin and they charged an additional $51 for shipping for a double or $75 for a queen, which I found reasonable. Still came in well under most mattress in a box competitors.

Don't forget Cashrewards!

…sitting on mine right now whilst reading your post :)
you wont be disappointed…well worth the retail price they charge let alone ebay outlet & discount
basically feels like a $1000-1500 mattress for a fraction of the price

    • +1

Awesome news, I'm still disappointed though because I bought one weekend too early and missed this coupon! Oh well, that's the way the bargains crumble :P

  • +1

The same mattress (black label) in a queen is 839 on their website. Even with the 20% off and outlet pricing, surely this is way too different? Do you think they might have listed the black label by mistake on ebay and will send something else? This mattress looks like the bees knees especially for that price.

    • nope same stock. ive bought 3x for me and family and they are all 100% with no defects etc.

      • that's amazing then! i'm very tempted

        • if you need a mattress then go for it…theyre plush yet firm. amazing quality to the fabric and construction. no regrets here whatsoever…other family members using them have also echoed the same sentiment.

    • I wasn't sure myself and decided to just jump in, the official site was selling mattresses at approx these prices for boxing day sales though: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/351835

Could just be crazy mark up, and selling them quickly through ebay because the slightly older stock maybe can't stay stored too long?

My girlfriend bought this a few weeks ago… Sooo good for that price. We had it on the floor until we found a base cheaper than the mattress but so far very much worth the price for the King.

  • +1

Yeah Got one around 2 years ago for the price I cant complain

    • +1

Have you noticed any sagging or unevenness when you're sleeping on it? Tempted to give this a try just based on price.

I bought a no name mattress from a store for about 1000 which was supposedly a good value. It's been nearly 2 years and i can basically feel myself rolling to side because it's sagged so much.

All mattresses feel great at first, the real test is after 1-2 years.

      • +1

I noticed alittle but I didnt rotate it so I have started doing that now. And I also lost a ton of weight lol

      • get the assured firm for $30 cheaper

lose the euro top which tend to lose its evenness ?

        • You're probably right. The springs are probably ok and it's the euro top padding that's gone soft. Thanks will see how i go.

        • Got a link to that assured firm?

        • @phunkydude:

ThHanks for advice bingomango, I bought one without the pillow top for $255 delivered

It is my favourite vacuum packed mattress now and I sleep like a baby now

Works fine with mattress on the floor

Looks same to other similar brands, doesn't have handles like the previous one I bought

  • I have used Marce blanc for over a year, and though I don't like it I cannot complaint for the price.
I recently used Ecosa for three weeks, it is the worst mattress I ever used.

    • I bought the lazybed, they are just HORRIBLE!!! Deserving all the caps. And if there are anything wrong with the mattress, takes about 20 emails for 1 reply maybe. No one ever picks up the phone etc etc. Had to finally threaten with consumers affairs before anything is resolved. I somehow suspect ecosa, lazybed and koala wadever bed are from same factory. But I might be wrong.

Bite the bullet and ordered one of this. Hopefully it's good!

  • Thanks OP. Bought one. Was going to buy one from Costco on Sunday (sealy premium for $499) but will take a punt on this one.

    • Which size is $499 at Costco? It is way cheaper than other mattress shop.

      • Queen size

  • I have a Giselle on that looks the same -very comfortable for a cheap mattress but be warned it’s very soft! Very comfy and luxurious though.

    • prolly different stuff , quite a few said this to be on firm side.

    • very bumpy matress how do i make flat again

  • I was looking at this yesterday! Glad I waited, thanks OP.

  • Does anyone know what kind of firmness this is?

  • Got a question on how delivery works?

I live on the third level of a apartment building so how would they deliver it to me????

    • It comes in a very movable box with a handle on it - not hard for a courier to get it to your door :~)

  • +1

Grabbed one, let's see how it goes :P

  • Thanks just ordered a queen for $240 ish

Was going to grab an IKEA one but they are about 600

This will be for our spare room..

  • G'day

What is the difference between their above mattress and their "5 Zone Pocket Spring Bed"

    It is $10 more

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-KING-Mattress-5-Zone-Pocket-…

    Thanks :-)

Bought one of these a year ago and very happy with it.

    • What is thw firmness level?

      • 6.5/10?

        • Mate, i dont know what that rating means. I wantedto find out from someone who is using it. Thanks

        • @stockastics:
I would say he means it's a bit firm but not hard firm.

        • @Hirolol: thanks

      • I got the model with the euro top, though overall it feels quite firm to me. at least 7 out of 10.

        • thanks

        • @stockastics: I know everyone is different but I've been using it for a year and am happy. Cheap as chips and worked out great.

        • @ninjataki: some of the other mattress in a box brands like koala are charging $800 for a queen. I am sure there is a large markup on these things.

        • @stockastics: oh yes. It's weird though, I found this identical seller at a great price when looking a year back and it was totally ozbargain unrelated. Stumbled onto something good :) I don't think you'll regret it. I noticed Koala back then and also a few other popular ones, thought I'd check ebay and after some research decided to give this 'Atelier' a go.

        • @ninjataki: Sweet, thanks. ordering one now.

  • I ordered one for the spare bedroom a few months ago and have slept in it quite an bit.

    Pros
comes in a small box, easy to move around until you want to open it
Exactly as described - firmness is between a medium and firm feel mattress
    Quick delivery
    Very affordable to garmble in

    Cons
don't think it's made in Australia
Needs time time to air to get rid of box and manufacturing smell
Find the fabric top a bit warm in summer
Thickness of tree mattress so sits quite high on our bed frame

    • I see it comes compressed or whatever. I am curious. How big is the box it comes in before you open it up?

      • +1

Pretty small. I only ordered a single and it was maybe 40cm x 40cm x 120cm? Don't quote me on that, I didn't measure it before unwrapping but it was an ok size for one person to pick up

    • Did you garmble in other brands? Affordability is not the only garmbling metric after all

  • OP, how did you manage to purchase it with a ebay discount code? I'm in regional QLD and ebay doesn't allow me to purchase as the seller does not ship to those various areas including Darwin.

    • +3

I just shot them a message and they said to set the address to something they would deliver to, then they send you a separate paypal request for the additional shipping and you make sure you stipulate your real address.

Best bet is to just send them a message first. They were super responsive, even on a sunday evening!

      • +1

Thanks mate, did just that yesterday. They definitely are responsive!

  • Can anyone recommend a good but cheap cost queen bed frame for the mattress to lay on?

    All help is appreciated.

    • Go to Amart or your local furniture store and check whether they have any clearance stock. Some times it works even cheaper than buying online. The only problem is that they should have that item you are looking for in clearance stock.

A while ago, I was looking to buy one of these mattress, went to local Freedom furniture and found a mattress that I liked, had a bit of black mark- as it was ex display model. Negotiated with the dealer and got it for less than half the price with 10 years warranty- further peace of mind.

As for the black mark, as we all do have put a mattress protector on top it.

    • I am using this https://www.fantasticfurniture.com.au/Categories/Bedroom-%26…
and pretty minimalist, easy to put together, cost is good, and I get to stuff things under the bed hahahah..

      • ..just picked up one of these for myself…mainly for the reasons you mentioned & i think it will be a hell of a lot more durable than their mdf/laminate bases

  • Bought one. Fingers crossed it is everything that people are saying.

    • +1

…youll be a happy camper (hopefully!).
was looking at some sub 1K mattresses today for comparison and the quality of the atelier mattresses far surpasses what i was seeing in store

  • Received mine yesterday (one week shipping to Darwin - not bad!) and unpacked it to 'inflate' for 24 hours. Tonight will be first nights sleep, will report in tomorrow :)

    • +1

congrats…unpacking is fun hey? after the inital 24 hours it takes a little while to…(ahem) 'bed in' :P
will feel noticeably different / fully settled after about 7 days or so…it gets better as it settles & the standard new materials / manufacturing smell goes away…happy sleeping ;)

meanwhile …i finally got a base to replace the old ensemble base i already had and assembled it today. mattress feels quite a bit firmer now i have some new slats and steel frame underneath. should be even better i reckon

      • what base did you get?

      • Yeah it was really cool seeing it restore to its full size. Pretty clever really! Did you find the feel to the mattress did change in the 7 days from unpacking as it says?

        • as i posted above…^ ;)

The mattress is quite a bit firmer than I was expecting but definitely not uncomfortable. First nights sleep was pretty great and uninterrupted, definitely a big step up from the futon I was on before. Mattress didn't seem hot at all which is what I was most worried about.

I did feel like laying on my back put some extra tension on my lower back as my hips sunk more than my torso. Will see if that persists as I sleep on it more.

Overall for the money and painless delivery I'm super happy!

  • I've been using this mattress for five months now. GREAT Mattress.
Buy this mattress from a store and you ill payw $1500 on top of eBay price.
Don't miss out very good quality.

  • Ordered a single matress. Asked for parcel collect delivery at post office. I dont have a car so decide to carry to my place by hand. Driver gets refused at post office because they are a private courier (hunter express). I go to collect at depot but it didnt come in a small box as the ozbargain comments here say… its just folded over and wrapped in plastic.

So yeah thats my experience. A major letdown.

These guys don't seem to respond in any particularly fast manner by phone or email so I am still trying to resolve to no avail.

  • The mattress was lumpy from feeling the springs, sags at the butt and feels hard by morning (2 neighbours said the same, I couldnt even give it away).
And you cant return them, well you can but you wont get jack back. I got the king single for 170, it costs a minimum of 130 to send back, but then coz its over 25kg you have to put it on a crate for forklifts and repack it….who knows how much that would cost and to much hassle for me.
Give the company credit, they helped find out how to send it back and in the end gave me 10 percent back as a partial refund. I dont think Ill ever risk anything online again thats a hassle/expensive to send back.

  • Sharing my experience, as I had trouble finding much online before purchasing. I ordered a queen, had to pay an extra $43 for shipping due to my location. Arrived in a surprisingly small box for such a large mattress. Smell was mild and after leaving it to air for 2 days, I don't notice it when I'm using it. Comfort is decent - mattress is firm enough that I don't feel it much when my partner moves around, but soft enough to be comfortable. Will try and remember to comment again if it degrades quickly or I have any problems.
