Bugaboo prams either love them or hate them are discontinuing their most popular pram in Australia the Buffalo. Bugaboo announced that they are discontinuing the Buffalo as it is not a popular model overseas. They are replacing it with a new model called the Fox which is a cross between the Cameleon and Buffalo prams. The Fox will be released in Australia on 1 February. Baby stores are now clearing out their stocks of Buffalo prams. They hold their value on the second-hand market (this model currently sells for around $850 after being used for 2-3 years). This is the pram only, you will need to buy the tailored fabric (hood and bassinet apron) separately. Comes with bassinet as well so it's suitable from birth to 17kgs. No click and collect but comes with free delivery.

Wow , my 3 kids survived well on $200 prams years ago , this one must be very special!!!
My kids survived on the $1 trolleys from Woolies.
When they get bigger, we need to upgrade to the Costco trolleys.
A thousand for a pram wtf??! Does it have lane change warning and radar cruise control built in?
Thousand dollar pram. Out parenting the other parents 101.
Along with ipad pro for 6 yr olds.
Gotta start the kids early on High Yield Investments if they are to ever get jobs at Westpac.
A true OzBargainer will just borrow prams from friends and family :)
There are many different kinds of ozbargainers. This is for the ones who want to look like a million dollars for just $800k ;)
So would you say this is a high yield investment?
Only if you work at westpac and run a tight ship.
And own a bmw as an investment
And even then you have to ask yourself. Do i earn enough to be able to morally afford car washes?
In my opinion these are the most over priced and ugly prams on the market. I was at a show recently and the Ted Baby prams are much better looking, built and are half the price. Go figure!
The Bugaboo Buffalo is designed specifically for all-terrain performance
It has big wheels
Hey. Leave the work experience student be. They gotta be using the fancy buzz words to impress the would be employers.
Goes well with people who have 4wd all terrain vehicles but never do off road, at least you know you will be better off in crash with a smaller vehicle.
Can i say that the idea of spending $1000 on a pram and then getting FREE DELIVERY…seems a bit laughable
Especially when you could just steal a shopping trolley!
First time mum here, baby due in May. From my online research, most prams cost about $700-$1K. Anyone has suggestion on cheaper prams?
I've looked at Baby Jogger, Steelcraft, Maclaren
Redsbaby has good reviews.
The build quality on a Baby Jogger is excellent and the City Minis and GTs are really practical. Resale value is also good. We all have different requirements with prams so make a list and see what suits your requirements.
Thanks, that's a really good advice. I should definitely think about what my requirements are.
Depends on what you want in a pram. Make a list of your MUST haves, and a list for stuff thats just bonus. If you are planning on walking a lot and using your pram everyday I do think it's worth investing in a good pram- that doesn't mean it has to be expensive, just well made. Go to a baby store and test them out!
I do plan on walking a lot, need to lose all the baby fat I am already putting on.
And don't forget to check out gumtree. We got a $200 mountain buggy urban jungle as a short term solution until we figured out what we really wanted. We figured we could easily resell to recoup out money when we replaced it with a new pram.
Two babies later, it's going strong and we've put the money we had budgeted aside for some of the other unexpected costs involved with being parents.I am definitely keeping an eye on gumtree ads. Didn't realize having a baby is so expensive.
@lusicul: Amazon US tend to ship a lot of the Baby jogger stuff here. We got a hand me down bugaboo that is about 10 years old and about to carry it's 5th kid (our second), and while it's been fine there is no way I'd pay even $500 for it when something like this is about $400.
Woah…that is really cheap. Don’t know why I didn’t think of checking out Amazon. Thank you!
@lusicul: Def keep an eye out on Gumtree, my partner and I picked up a Steelcraft Strider, bassinet and car capsule set for $390 a couple weeks ago - the same amount to buy just the pram brand new at Toysrus
@Jicby2: Will do, thank you. The money saved could be spent on other things for the baby.
Yes they are expensive- but I miss my bugaboo (chameleon) you don't realise how awesome having a well made pram is until you try it. Each to their own though!!
I sold my cam for about $700 and it was 2 years old.We bought our Chameleon in the US where is was less than half the price we would have paid here (back when the $AU was above parity) and all I can say is that, once I used it, I would have gladly paid the full price for it.
If you are having kids, the pram is one thing you don't want to cheap out on. You don't necessarily have to go for a Bugaboo, but definitely don't go for the old-school cheap ones. Your back and your wits will thank you. The last thing you need when you are out and about with children is an uncomfortable child. Those little dirt magnets are annoying enough as it is.
For those saying that $1k for a pram is expensive, it surely is!
However, when you do start looking at prams, you see why it's $1k when you see what you get for only $500….Definitely a good price considering the cost they usually go for, and Bugaboo always has a higher resell value.
Just make sure it fits in the boot as it's quite large!!You gotta be crazy to spend $1k on a pram.
My wife bought the bugaloo donkey^
you gotta be crazy to spend $500 on a Chinadroid with no local warranty or band 28 ….people do it.
Bargain is getting an item as cheaply as possible, not necessarily how that item performs compares to similar items.
My $120 Invicta watch seems to be as accurate as my $2700 Omgea, both are watches and tell the time.
Pardon my ignorance but it seems that the good price pram supply in yesteryears had gone and now being controlled by few supplier / shops that has jacked up the price like MAD . So , $1000 for a pram is quite the norm … wow , I got to start saving money for my growing up young adults for very expensive pram ontop of house in near future.
If you want to save further, it would be worth getting an RACQ membership for $26 to save 10% off DJ Gift Cards. Bringing it down to $988.10 if you need to buy membership, plus you'll have a years worth of pretty good discounts.
