UPPAbaby Minu V2 - Jake (Charcoal/Carbon/Black Leather) $499 Delivered @ UPPAbaby AU

80

Well reviewed travel stroller with RRP of $649, looks like the v2 is getting discontinued in favour of the v3 (which doesn't support the bassinet adapters).

Very fast delivery via Startrack included, mine arrived in less than 24 hours.

Note that some other colours are discounted further but they appear sold out.

It's a good travel pram, but don't expect airlines to let you bring it on-board and force you to check it in.

figured i'd repost something i posted elsewhere on ozb as a PSA:

What I find when travelling is some airlines can be quite strict / uninformed.
Since Babyzen Yoyo is the most famous one, the conversation at the airport usually goes like:
    1. can that go in the overhead locker? Yes
    2. Is it a "yoyo"? No
    3. I'm not sure if that one will fit in our airplanes, you may be forced to check in at the gate to cargo.

I have seen some instances on my travel where people were forced to just check it in at the gate if it wasn't a Yoyo didn't even get a chance to "try to see if it fits".

    • Agree
We have a joolz aer and just say it's same as a yoyo and usually have no problems. We have had to demonstrate the folded size at the check in counter a few times.

    • agree with above however our Baby Jogger Australia City Tour 2 was allowed on, just make sure you have it in a bag and it should* be fine.

    • We had this experience recently and I found that the overhead luggage compartments for the seats on the two sides seem to be smaller than the compartment for the middle seats. We have an Aer+ and it couldn't fit into the compartment above the side seats but we were able to put it into the compartment above the middle seats. This was when we flew with Qantas.

So that explained why when we flew with Airasia, they wouldn't let us take the pram on board the plane, because it was a smaller plane and they only had the smaller compartments that basically no prams would fit into.

    • Travelling internationally and domestically with Minu v2 as carry on works better when before boarding you fold it up, pop wheels off (they come off easily) and put them in the basket, then sling it over your shoulder. If you get asked when boarding just say that its a travel stroller thats approved by the airline, and the previous flight it was okay. We have only had to gate check it when pushing it to the gate.

Also, for this model if the wheels get sticky and dont track straight, just pop them off and give the spindles a wipe.

      • Sorry for late reply but this is great info, thanks!

    1. Keep a yoyo in the side pocket - answer yes…
  • I wish the version with the Bassinet dropped in price further 😔

  • The new skip is a better pram for the same money.

Can you expand on that? Would love a comparison

      • I would doubt it - yet to test a Redsbaby that is comparable to UPPAbaby quality.

Pretty much my thinking. I have the Minu V2 and chose it over the Skip2 for various reasons (including build quality and folding design). We've compared Uppababy single and double prams to Redsbaby's and Uppababy always felt more solid in construction and ease of use. The latest generation of Redsbaby had fun features but their design around fold-ability and weight always felt lacking.

@CoreNex: The Minu V2 is better than the skip 2, but the skip 3 has brought features on par with the Minu V3. A comparison between the Minu V2 and Skip 3 is very favourable towards the Skip 3 particularly if you're actually intending to use it for air travel. The Minu V2 weighs a kilo more and does not fold anywhere close to small enough to carry on to the plane.

The Minu V3 will be a better pram than the Skip 3, but you will obviously pay for that.
