The old jv is returning :D
Same thing happened last time…
People negged, but the price was increased when the sale started…
You are probably correct JV. But you could have made your point in a less aggressive manner.
I don't think anyone knows what Dell will or won't do?
So asking OP such a questions is unfair or maybe you would say ridiculous. You could have just said.
"Dell increased prices last time so this deal may not occur." or something along those lines.@Gimli:
But but but, its jv?But you could have made your point in a less aggressive manner.
And how exactly was it “aggressive?”
I don't think anyone knows what Dell will or won't do?
So then we don’t really know if this will be a bargain or not…
anyone has recommendation which store to buy for gaming laptops for this discount?
an ebay one.
JW computers are quite good judging from past sales, prices and customer service.
coz i already booked from dell outlet refurbished (but this one the sales and the website listing written "as new" as they said some customer cancel/refund the order and have not yet been used yet" it cost about $2119 with the spec of :
Alienware 17 R4 Gaming Laptop, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ (Quad-Core,
6MB Cache, up to 3.8GHz w/ Turbo Boost);16GB DDR4 at 2400MHz
(2x8GB);512GB PCIe SSD (Boot) + 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s
(Storage);Windows 10 Home (64bit) English;;Killer 1535 802.11ac 2x2 WiFi and
Bluetooth 4.1;17.3 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS Anti-Glare 300-nits
Display;NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 1060 with 6GB GDDR5;Power Supply :
Alienware 180W AC Adapter;Lithium Ion (68 Wh) Battery;Backlit Keyboard, what do you all fellow ozbargainers think about of this spec and price?? should i go for it?
It's a good enough price for a 17.3"
But if you don't need 17.3" and can live with 15.6" there are cheaper.
But it's a good price. I would maybe buy it.,
think its worth pointing out that this is NOT a full-sized keyboard.
which is pretty normal for an 11" laptop I suppose, but if you're not aware of that it could be a gotcha.
Is it open/close hardware? That is, can we upgrade the shit out of it?
Have replaced the SSD and upgraded RAM
Bit fiddly to open the case, otherwise straightforward
I wish it had a touchscreen. What the average battery life on these laptops?
I bought one of these at the end of 2016 / beginning of 2017.
I originally bought it for use as an home theatre PC to plug into the TV (e.g. play videos off a NAS, YouTube, occasional browsing) which it has been great for. Personally I find the Windows based interface still easier and more powerful than others (e.g. Android) to use.
I also took this as a travel laptop on a long overseas holiday, and I was surprised by how good the battery life was. I don't have any numbers, but I didn't worry much about charging (unlike my phone which was daily). Didn't play games or do anything intensive on it though.
I think the biggest drawbacks are the quality of the screen (not a big concern of mine) and the size of the keyboard (but what's the alternative if you want a laptop this small).
Have used these on and off at work and was impressed so got one for school use.
The screen looks good to me even though its only HD.
Performance is absolutely fine. The kbd is typical for this so for desk work use a mouse kbd and screen if you have to.
Its probably the case that Dell are making stuff all on $300 since this thing has a full size 120Gb samsung ssd inside.
Battery life will last an avg. work/school day.
Make a gen 2 and put in a FHD screen.
Touch I'm less inclined as the thing does not fold flat etc. and they have a 2 in 1 version anyway.
Just snapped up a white one, now the ridiculous delivery wait begins.
Does this have an IPS or TN display panel?
How do you know Dell won't increase the price?
It happened last time.
