no they would repair the phone or give you another one so you have a repairedd 2 year old phone or a 2 year old refurbished phone.

you can relive that new phone smell.

        smells like cabbage

        • Lol why did people even downvote this comment

The only store I could actually find that had it in stock was Hobart.

Everywhere else was either out of stock or limited - please call (which basically means out of stock).

    • Interesting, when they had Z623 speakers for $88, my local store said out of stock, still called and they had one left. May as well give it a shot.

  • The were a few in Victoria (8+ stores checking two postcodes) - perhaps not so much in Tasmania? I would look but it's a PITA to check/confirm.

    • +3

I literally just tried 10 random Victorian post codes from google on their website, and not one came up with 'in stock'. As I said, 'limited - please call' 99% of the time means it's out of stock.

BTW I'm not in Tasmania, I just did a quick search of all the state's CBD postcodes and Hobart was the only one to show up any stock.

  • Doesn't support dual sim + microSD card.

    • +3

few do support 2 sim and memory card , hence its 64gb ….

      • +2

64GB is possibly heading towards acceptable for storage, but I'd much prefer phones to simply support dual SIM + microSD card.

    • +7
      • That is awesome.

      • I guess thats what the complimentary VIP Accidental Cover Package is for. I tried this with my note but backed out at the superglue stage as I wasnt prepared to destroy a 256GB card just yet :)

Superglue is a lot thinner then a glue gun and more permanent. Not always a good thing.

      • What's the point though if the second SIM slot is 2G only according to GSM Arena?

It comes with a hybrid nano-SIM/microSD slot. The secondary card can only hook to 2G networks while the primary one gets the full set of cellular connectivity.

        • Missed information I think. SD820 chip works with both 4g/3g or 3g/4g.

        • +1

          @HandsomeMonkey:

          hmm possibly. can anybody confirm?

        • +1

          @CVonC: http://www.ztemobiles.com.au/presale_AXON_7.htm

States dual sim 4g/3g/2g, pretty poorly worded but even 4g/3g is fine by me

        • +1

          @Jackson:

yeah 4G/3G is fine. That's still ambiguous imo though.

          edit: whirlpool said

SifuDean in response to this question yesterday says "… that when one SIM is on 4G the other will be sitting on 3G typically as the devices tries and stays on the highest available service. " – see this thread on the ZTE forum.

          :)

        • +1

@CVonC: time to start gluing unpacked SIMs to that backs of memory cards then

    • +1

Storage: 64 GB with the option for 256 GB MicroSD expansion

  • +9

Wait so it's Australian stock and also dual sim???

    • +4

… why did this get -3 votes (I wasn't being sarcastic or anything)

    • +4

Yes, if it's officeworks it's always going to be Australian stock, and this phone only comes in dual sim

  • +2

Tried multiple stores and none available to collect, Why are people voting up if there is no stock available ?

  • This is probably one of those deals where there's no stock nation wide and it's unavailable for delivery. So it's only a deal if you can actually buy it.

    • Not worth an up vote then…not sure why these got posted unless it serves the purpose of benefiting most people who see this thread early

  • +1

Hobart store has them fully in stock. Rest are limited or out of stock it seems.

One single store on an island with stock.

      • +3

I bet you wouldn't complain if it was Rockhampton.

        • So true. But alas the Rockhampton store is out of stock like the majority of Australia is.

        • @hollykryten: Because there is a massive population difference between the two (75,000ish vs 200,000ish) and heaps on the island could take advantage :P

        • @Clear: I'll have you know Rockhampton 'serves' a population of at least 240,000

        • +1

          @lethological: And Tassie has 2 stores serving 515,000ish ;)

  • Limited stock in Elizabeth and Russell Street, Melbourne CBD.

    • +2

When it comes to Officeworks. Limited stock status can mean a faulty return or no stock at all.

  • +3

I bought a sealed unit today from Carnegie, Victoria which had them noted as limited stock. Not sure if this helps but best to ring/confirm if looking to purchase. They held the item for me after verbal confirmation over the phone.

    • Do you know how much stock they had at the Carnegie store when you were there?

  • Just spent $400 on drills, must resist!

    @everyone complaining about no stock:
I just called Blacktown and they said they had 2 left. Put one on hold and going to pick it up in an hour!!

      i got the other one..
      none left.

      • Oh lol!! I can't wait to open it when I get home :> great deal op

  • Out of stock in VIC.

I wonder why the grey is different? Any potential to match/discount if the grey is out of stock?

  • +9

I have one of these, they are a great phone, has dual speakers and the sound quality is very good. It was also mentioned to be the best phone for using daydream as the phones speakers stick out of the sides of the daydream so you don't need headphones.

    Normally these are $500.

Got one for my old man a few weeks back, great phone for the money.

    • +1

Your old man is keeping up better than mine, he had to upgrade his nokia monochrome phone (after 2-3 battery replacements) when the 2G network was shut down, he got a flip phone with number buttons for $40.

      • Lol same here, had to get dad a flip phone when they shut down the 2G network. At the time the only one I could find was the Konka flip phone for $99, which flip phone did you get?

        • I don't know, it was something Optus offered him to upgrade.

      • Yeah, this was a huge upgrade for him coming from an old Nokia feature phone. Trying to teach him how to use an Android phone was a mission in itself, but he seems to being slowly getting the hang of it.

    Good for tax deductions

"so keep your AXON 7 out of contact with any liquids and don't loose it"

    How do I tighten it?

  • +5

Just picked one up thanks. BTW, Joondalup WA has one brand new one available still if someone wants one from the wait awhile state :-). Thanks OP, nice phone.

  • wow~~~with 2k screen!

    • You can also get a 2k screen on a Le Max 2 for 150USD if you don't mind a phone without band B28 and microSD. Comes with SD820, 4gig RAM and 32GB.

  • How long do they give you to return it for a refund if you don't like it? 30 days?

    • +2

Last I heard, OW don't have to give a refund if you use the phone for a few weeks and then decide that you don't like it. That's going to make it hard for them to resell once its opened and been used.

Under the same logic, can I drive my Lambo for 30 days and then take it back and be refunded?

    • +4

there is no returns for change of mind unless its still sealed.

      • +1

I always return goods to officeworks that I have opened , most of the time I am unsure of an item and the staff tell me if it isn't suitable for your needs just bring it back

    • I asked them today and they said normally 30 days but for PHONES it's only 7 days. Also make sure u don't set up a google account if ur still deciding or else they won't refund it!

      • +1

If you factory reset before return, (which you should anyway), why does it matter whether you set up a Google account or not?

After all, how are you going to see if the phone is suitable if you can't install anything off the Play Store.

Takes all right photos outside , but don't expect any good shots indoors.

Got rid of my s7 edge for this as I was sick of carrying around a portable headphone amp and this phone ticks all the boxes of a flagship at a fraction of the price.

I now have a s8 plus only because I bought a phantom 3 advance drone and it has a larger and brighter screen so my old eyes can see better in the sun

      • +3

Whoa, I actually think the battery is really good. I don't go HAM on it though but it's never not lasted me an entire day of moderate usage.

IMO, low points: camera is bad in low light, the three touchscreen buttons on the front are too close together

        • +3

the three touchscreen buttons on the front are too close together

It lasts the whole week… when used by my grandma.

Seriously, it all depends what you use it for. If you pound on it all day long then how do you expect it be excellent? You need to be realistic.

Battery Endurance ratings for 2016 flagship-ish phones. Axon 7 has 70hr rating, Average is 74hr. Battery is average.

Also since mine loses ~1% per hour screen off on stock Android and wifi I very much doubt your grandma can get 7 days especially if shes using the ZTE MiFlavor skin.

The Camera is usually faulty, if you force it to take pictures up close it goes nuts and you have to restart the phone for the camera to work again. Screen scratches easy, it has more scratches on the screen now than my phone 4 which I had for 7 years. The phone is too big for my hands, I think 5.5" is too big. Main reason I bought it though was for daydream and it recommends 5.5"

      Other than that, good phone.

    • I assume you meant Highett, on Nepean Highway. They have 4 in stock but only the gold colour which is $355.Still a good price. I called ealier. Ask for grey. Same with Chadstone I was told.

      • i didn’t ask about color but did ask about price and was quoted $299 ….colour isn’t a big deal for me as i keep phones in flip cases.

    • Called wentworthville and person said , no stock any where and will despatch from warehouse in 2 - 3 weeks..

    • +2

When I went to Joondalup WA to see if they had one, I called first, they checked their stock and said they had none of them. I was in that store ten minutes later to double check (Picking up Friday Grog from the drive through bottle shop nearby), and when I was in the store they had one brand new one that I picked up, and another there too (I asked the lady serving me why I was told that they did not have any when I rang, and she said that they did not show any on hand on their in store computer stock check, but they actually do have them. She said it happens all the time).
So better top go look yourself, or don't :-)

No stock in Prospect SA, but I was told that even though I can't click and collect online, I can go in-store and they can order one from the warehouse for me. Not sure how true that is, but might be worth a shot.

i am able to grab one in just $199/- one of the store had the last piece with opened box… but they sold me as NEW.. :)
