Similar to the very popular deal in June, Amaysim & Cashrewards are offering something new until January 21. Potentially a $10 profit and access to a 2.5GB SIM on the house. The main requirements are that you are a new Amaysim customer, activate prior to February 10, and you click out via the Cashrewards link in the post. Enjoy :)


Please read these important guidelines & T&Cs before proceeding:

  8. Offer applies only on the 2.5GB $20 SIM so ignore other T&Cs on Cashrewards for any other Amaysim plans.
  9. Only one cashback of $30 per Cashrewards account is permitted.
  10. Cannot be used with any other Amaysim or 3rd party promos/codes/referrals.
  11. Cannot stack with Cashrewards Refer-a-Friend. Doing so will invalidate cashback & referral bonus.
  12. This cashback offer expires 11:59pm AEDT Jan 21, 2018 (final purchase date).
  13. Your CR tracking email may show an estimated approval date in March. Ignore this as approval will be as stated above.

    • Change payment method to Bpay. Requires you to login on amaysim website

    • Goto Plan and click on the date for Auto-renews. It will pop up the Auto-renew settings page where you can turn off auto-renew.

  • My SIM comes pre-activated but when I contacted them, they said that they cant reset the activation date? anyone has similar issue?

    Just ported, and found Optus/Amaysim signal terrible for me, especially when there is an outage exactly where my office building is at the moment. It has been 3 days and it still has not been fixed.

    Heads up for people having issues activating. Make sure you login with your email instead of the number you're porting over to. Been logging in using the number im trying to port over and the activation failed. Logged into the email and had no issues. Asked me to initiate port. Very weird.

    Bought the SIM on 10/Jan without ID verification so the SIM wasnt activated.
    Activated today and got full 28 days. All sweet now waiting for $10 CB.

  • I went to activate it and it said expires in 10 days. I went to help chat and they were saying pretty much bad luck you activated it ages ago (which I didn't). Eventually she gave me $11 credit… I'm about to open a chat window for my partners sim as it's doing the same thing! Did anyone else have a similar issue?

    • I'm going to try today or tomorrow and see what happens. I think a lot of people received pre-activated sims and I've yet to hear anyone confirm if they've ever had their sim activation reset. So looks like a large majority of us wasted $20 and won't get the cashback.

      • I'm in the same boat and I agree that not being able to have the sim activation reset is a major pain. But we should still get the cashback because it was activated before 10/2.

  • Why is the sim card auto-activated before you even get the sim card? I got mine today and only have 18 days left. Do I still get the cashback even though I never activated it but they did it automatically 12 days ago?

  • Not sure how I apparently have managed to use ~800mb as my account is showing 1.7 of 2.5gb remaining when there is also nothing showing in the Usage History for the last 7 days or the previous month. Pretty sure the sim hasn't touched my phone save for the brief activation but whatever…just give me my cashback, chuckleheads

    Amaysim will always send SIMs pre-activated, but the card is not connectable until you have verified your ID. The first day of your plan starts on the date that the card becomes connectable.
    So, ALWAYS do the ID verification when you are ready to use your card and you will get full 28 days.

    Ordered two on separate cash rewards accounts for different family members.

    Received both Friday. Letters dated 22 jan saying it's activated. Login. Asked for I'd. And both expire 4th mar.

    Must admit a bit sneaky how they buried the auto recharge option in the login

    Do I need to do anything else?
    I assume since I've turned auto recharge off I don't need to cancel it in a month's time to be eligible for the cash back?

    Donita S Thank you for this information. Unfortunately we are unable to restart pre-activated plan but here's what I could do, I will credit the unused days of your plan. So I will credit $13 in your account that will be use for next plan payment. So instead of paying $20 again you will just pay $7 instead.

    Dmac I wasn't aware that the sim would be pre-activated and need it to be activated within a time frame to receive cashback on the item, as it was apart of an amaysim promotion

    Donita S I do understand that Daniel but with regards to cashback you need to contact them. n your plan here with us we can only credit $13 as replacement for the unused days of the plan

    Dmac I haven't used the plan. It wasn't clear that the sim would come pre-activated and I would not have purchased it if I knew that to be the case.

    Donita S I completely understand how you feel right now Daniel but let me explain this further. Our system pre-activated your account and plan. Since you are unable to use the service for 18 days what I will do is credit the $13 as equivalent cost of this 18 days. You may use the service now until 19-02-2018. Then one it renewed on 19-02-2018 you will pay $7 only since I will credit $13. Even though you are unable to use the 18 days I will replace is as $13.

    Dmac Why are you unable to reset the activation date? I know friends that had the same issue that were able to do this.

  • Absolutely raped on this deal. Free money… Pufft. Been charged $40 so far due to auto renewal and no cashback via cash rewards, let's see how that goes. Probably won't get cash rewards as I have cancelled the service.

      You'll still get cashback if you turn off auto-renew. It says you need the service active for 28 days.

      Would have been free money if you did it correctly, I thought it would have been common sense to turn off auto renewal the second you activate..

      Cashback will be paid as long as you activated the SIM.

  • I had issues activating prior to midnight on 10 Feb due to ID issues (foreign passport) even though I contacted them during the day (albeit only via email - which was one of the suggested methods).

    Not sure what's gonna happen with this.. but we'll see.

    • That means your ID was already verified, if it wasn't then your service wouldn't be active according to this link.

  • Anyone else's CR cashback get declined? I ordered a couple (for family and technologically challenged parents), and signed up under a new email address each time. Got the CR confirmation straight after payment. All the SIMs were activated by Feb 10. Just logged into the respective CR accounts and all cashbacks were declined 20/2! Perhaps it's because I activated each SIM using my own ID? Though this wasn't stated under the T&C's.. If I had known, I would've used different ID's each time. Any idea TA? Please tell me I didn't just waste $100!

      • No, different CR accounts for each purchase

        • Do you have more than one CR acct using the same bank and/or PayPal details across each acct? It may also have to do with Amaysim identifying you as having purchased multiple SIMs as you provided the same ID across your activations.

          @coolsteps: Hi coolsteps. If you followed the steps in the OP, the only reason it would have been declined is if you're attempting to claim rewards across multiple CR accts. If this is so, our fraud detection would have automatically declined the transaction as Amaysim won't pay us. As stated above, this is against our T&Cs. You will get a response to your ticket from our customer service team today who will advise exactly what needs to be done at your end. Thanks.

        • @tightarse: I've 4 adults in my home and each is having our own CR account. We ordered 4 sim cards and naturally have them delivered to the same address. My partner and I used the same credit card to make payment for our orders. I would be unhappy if this disqualify us from the cashback as all the orders are legit.

      Just to update that my CR account was flagged for suspicion in violation of T&C. TA timely call out to me and his personal follow up has resulted in having the false alert sorted out expeditiously. He made the difference for member like me to continue supporting CR. Kudos to TA!     • All genuine transactions have been approved. Please read this in case it applies to you. Only other reason for delayed approval is if your purchase was an untracked sale and you’ve lodged a ticket (meaning we’re waiting on a response from Amaysim).

        • @tightarse: Yeah someone from CR already told my mum about it when she requested to make a withdrawal a couple of weeks back and asked for her ID. Would wait for Matthew to respond tomorrow then.
          Just a suggestion, I think CR should send an email to members when a transaction is declined. I didn't even realise that I have so many transactions declined until I logged in to check on my Energy Australia cashback. It seems a little sketchy to decline so quietly.
