Buy an Amaysim Unlimited 2.5GB SIM for $20 & Get $30 Cashback (Approved by Feb 28) @ Cashrewards

3620

Similar to the very popular deal in June, Amaysim & Cashrewards are offering something new until January 21. Potentially a $10 profit and access to a 2.5GB SIM on the house. The main requirements are that you are a new Amaysim customer, activate prior to February 10, and you click out via the Cashrewards link in the post. Enjoy :)

Please read these important guidelines & T&Cs before proceeding:

  1. You MUST click out through this link or the Cashrewards link in this post (then select Shop Now).
  2. Once you've clicked Shop Now, DO NOT exit the Amaysim site until your purchase is complete.
  3. If you are an existing Amaysim customer, you will need to create a new account with a new email address to be eligible for this offer.
  4. Order the Unlimited 2.5GB SIM for $20.
  5. You must activate the SIM before 11:59pm AEDT Feb 10, 2018 to be eligible for cashback.
  6. If your SIM arrives pre-activated, contact Amaysim. They will reset the activation date so you get the full 28 days.
  7. Cashback will be APPROVED in your Cashrewards account no later than Feb 28, 2018.
  8. Offer applies only on the 2.5GB $20 SIM so ignore other T&Cs on Cashrewards for any other Amaysim plans.
  9. Only one cashback of $30 per Cashrewards account is permitted.
  10. Cannot be used with any other Amaysim or 3rd party promos/codes/referrals.
  11. Cannot stack with Cashrewards Refer-a-Friend. Doing so will invalidate cashback & referral bonus.
  12. This cashback offer expires 11:59pm AEDT Jan 21, 2018 (final purchase date).
  13. Your CR tracking email may show an estimated approval date in March. Ignore this as approval will be as stated above.
  14. Remember that AdBlock may cause issues with tracking technology, so please disable before using Cashrewards.
  15. If for any reason your sale fails to track after 7 days, open a support ticket and the team will look into it for you.

          @hetzjagd:
It is really kind of you to reply with such lots of information.

I will just wait for 7 days then lodge the claim.
I will also try it out in another computer and see what is killing my track.

Again, thanks a lot for the great reply.

    • I was also worried about not getting an email. Came through in about 10 or 15 minutes.

  • On a side note (just asking generally), do people have problems with adblock preventing them from getting cashback? My friend insists he never has problems so I kinda started getting brave and leaving my adblock on too. Seems to still work.

    • I accidentally left mine on with quite aggressive blocking, I guess we'll see!

    • Yes there's definitely issues, I'd recommend turning adblock off when dealing with any sort of cashback, I've missed cashback before because of it. I wouldn't risk it personally, turning it off just for CR redirects doesn't affect me much and takes two seconds.

      • My adblock was on…. no email notification or tracking update on cashrewards :(

    • I wouldn't risk it mate, adblock could suddenly get very strict with its filtering and then Cashrewards (and/or its affiliate partners) would be blocked by the adblock algorithm and then you'd be without recourse!

      • +1

Yea lol I don't disagree, it's not "worth" the risk for what is very little "effort", was just wanting to see other people's experiences!

        • Spot on. Especially for a cashback as large as $30.
Also, from my limited experience, when you submit a cashback claim support, the rep can see if you had adblock enabled or not.
          YMMV.

I use a few different plugins and found that after tweaking up ublock to block third party scripts by default (at least I think it was that that did it) ala NoScript, the redirect from CR to the merchant broke.

For that reason I have Chrome Canary installed with just the CR add-on and use that exclusively for purchases and other quick testing.

    • +2

Yes. I face problems with a few tansactions. CR CS is not exactly forth coming to address this. Below is their reply:

      Thanks for getting in touch.

We’ve identified that ad-blocking software was enabled on your device on 25/12/2017 and 28/12/2017 while you were shopping through Cashrewards at eBay Australia. Whilst security software keeps us safe when shopping online, browser add-ons such as AdBlock are known to impact the effectiveness of cookie tracking - which our stores use to report transactions back to us here at Cashrewards. We can see that this is why your sale did not track through Cashrewards.

For our tracking technology to run at its very best, on future purchases please temporarily disable your ad-blocking software while you shop through Cashrewards. This is the most effective way to ensure that your purchases will be reported back to us from our partner stores and that your cashback will appear in your account as pending!

If you have any questions for us, or would like some other tips about using Cashrewards, please don’t hesitate to reply to this email.

      Kind Regards,

Will this work if I just add +1 to my gmail address when making a new account? (e.g. [email protected])

    • +2

Think so - I'd imagine still be considered a new email address for all intents and purposes.

Sounds a bit risky though.. making a new email account doesn't take too long. I would personally just make a new one.

    • +4

I just change the position of the dots in my gmail :)
For example main email is [email protected], I then use [email protected] :)

    • +3

yes it should works, also works by using @googlemail.com domain too!

    • Yes this does work. I have done it before.

  • +1

I keep entering my details and then clicking to go to payment and it will not laod the next screen. Any suggestions?

    • Try a different browser.

      • +1

Thanks. Was buying for my daughter and turns out that it wouldn't accept registration with her date of birth - just wasn't giving me any error messages. Frigged around for 2+ hours as I was after a particular number and it kept disappearing for 20 minutes after each try. Do love the fact you can choose your number though (well, sort of). Now need to figure out what to do with the Kogan voucher I purchased the night before……

    • +2

It's not just cash rewards that does this, it's any cashback company over the world. They have numerous partners which they do these deals with, it's the discretion of the partner as to when they pay the cashback, that is why there is always a period of time up to which your cashback will be paid. I have had no issue with any cashback company, most important CR, and their support is really good for any of my dealings..

The issue is probably just with the company who offers the cashback, not CR themselves, as to when your cashback will be available.

    • +3

It's not cash rewards that the problem, it's the retailers. Cashrewards only pay you once they've been paid.

    • +1

You know why retailers have a set amount of time before approval? To prevent people from making purchases, cancelling/returning for refund and cashing in on the cashback. Abusing this would result in a massive loss to the businesses involved. Makes sense for high value purchases too.

I've booked overseas holidays through CR and they've all tracked and been approved in the end.

      • Ditto what Frukoz said above.

      • You are missing my point. I understand the waiting period exists for that reason, but when you are months past the waiting period, yet subsequent, smaller purchases from the same store work just fine, it starts becoming suspicious.

        • Because smaller purchases are less of a risk compared to high value purchases. I've never had an issue with my $500+ orders as long as I stay within the rules of cashback.

    • Update: Tightarse is helping me out now :)

  • I wonder how much cashrewards is making of this

  • +1

Thank you TA! Gotta love free money!

  • +4

    Free honey!

  • I must be missing something. How do I create a new Amaysim account? All I see is the option to log in and a new email address was not recognised.

    • Doesn't matter, worked it out, I noticed that I have to create the new email address as part of the new plan signup.

  • So if I don't recharge after 28days, will the number still remain active (for incoming calls/text)?

    • +1

It stays alive for a further 365 days

      • +1

If you’re lucky you’ll get free credit to come back.

      • Oh wow, I thought it was 6 months :)

        • +2

sorry, you're right about the 6 months, so it's actually 365 days (active) + 6 months (passive). However I've got a sim from amaysim that refuses to die for nearly 3 years now without any recharge

        • @bonz:

I've got a sim from amaysim that refuses to die for nearly 3 years now without any recharge

          Lol

    • yes you will just change payment method to bpay and plan to pay as you go before the 28 days and you will get about 6 to 12 months extra time before sim becomes invalid

  • +1

Basically. You spend $20 and cancel your mobile plan right before the next cycle. After that you will make a profit of $10 as the cashback amount is $30

    • Is there any way to cancel without ringing amaysim up?

      • It's somewhere in the Amaysim account settings, I think it was under billing, can't remember though haven't been with Amaysim for over a year.

        • I logged into the newly set up Amaysim account and under Payment methods, I did't see any option that I could cancel the auto pay. May be it's because I haven't activated the sim yet. So just wait and see.

  • +1

Got this last time no problems. Hopefully all goes well again this time around.

If anyone is currently with Amaysim and wants to get this deal and keep their same number then you can transfer to Telstra (first order a free SIM online from them which is same day delivery in metro areas) and then transfer back as a new customer. It will take 3 to 4 days to complete the transfer out and back again.

  • +1

    Got a "500 error" when checking out…

  • Would Amaysim pre-activates the new SIM (to be sent to me) after I've signed up? Or do I've to activate it when I receive the new SIM ?

      • (5) You must activate the SIM before 11:59pm AEDT Feb 10, 2018 to be eligible for cashback.
      • (6) If your SIM arrives pre-activated, contact Amaysim. They will reset the activation date so you get the full 28 days.
      • +1

Thanks, TA. I recalled receiving my new SIM pre-activated the last time and that's why I'm clarifying. Not sure if it has to do with between porting and getting a new mobile number. Once again, you are the champ, TA!

        • +4

We made a significant number of test purchases before we launched this promo. It was a 50/50 split in regards to SIMs arriving pre-activated, and those that required activation. That's the reason this condition was added to the terms :)

        • +2

@tightarse: Keep up the great work!

        • @tightarse: previous experience is they arrive activated and you lose a few days. You might get it reset.

        • @wxyz234:

          You might get it reset.

If it arrives pre-activated, you will definitely get it reset if you ask. Amaysim has confirmed this :)

        • @tightarse:

I want to port my current number and my current plan does not expire until 10 Feb.

I don't want the SIM to come pre-activated.

          How can I avoid that?

        • @kpyam2000: Hi there. You'll need to raise this with Amaysim as they're the ones send the SIMs out. Thanks.

        • @tightarse: Just received it and already activated and 24 days left. Al they want to do is offer me credit. Can't reset, So much for they will definitely reset it. I see i'm not the only one. Nothing from cash rewards either so this could be a waste of $20. Cash rewards is hit and miss most of the time. End up wasting time trying to get cash back.

  • +1

If you repeat do this a 100,000 times you will be millionaire.

    • +2

      got a spare 2mil up front? ;)

  • Can I buy sim tonight in woolies and then activate offer, my present plan expires tomorrow

    • No, this is an online only offer.

      • +1

        Thankyou for your reply

      • can i pick a easier-to-remember premium number for $30,with $20 plan total amount is $50,and it still have $30 cashback?

        • +1

          Hi coolim. You sure can.

        • @tightarse: Thanks Rep,I found one very exciting number :)

        • +2

@coolim: 04TIGHTARSE ? Who knew it was a premium number?

  • Help! After paying via paypal I was unable to verify myself! Does this mean I won't be able to activate the sim and won't receive my cashback?

    • +1

You'll need to login to your Amaysim account to confirm your ID.
The ID verification page is after you've completed the transaction, so your cash back is on its way, it may have already arrived by now :).

  • +1

    Done, thanks SimArse!

    • lol, pleasure :)

      • Hi @tightarse, I just placed the order via CR portal. In memory I should receive an email from CR upon completing the order, shouldn't I? At this point I still heard no message from CR. Is my transaction recorded?

    • +1

      4gArse!

  • +2

Just brought one. And they cashback me lest then a minute.

    • +1

Just checked my Cashrewards and I've received the cash back :D

    • +5

      Where did you bring it?

  • +1

    I'm doomed.. it's not tracking…. T.T

    • Give TA a PM explaining what happened, TA is a Cashrewards rep.

  • Bought one, cashback track came in 10 minutes later, perfect!!!

  • +1

I ported out from Amaysim to Kogan. If I port the same number back to Amaysim, will I get the cash back?

    • wondering the same!

      • +1

Yes as the number was previously with another provider you receive the cash back.

Make sure to disable adblock and enable cookies in your browser, so cashrewards can track your purchase.

    • Yes as the number was previously with another provider you receive the cash back.

Make sure to disable adblock and enable cookies in your browser, so cashrewards can track your purchase.

  • Got an error when trying to make a payment. I tried 3 times no luck! Is it just me?

  • When it says do not leave the Amaysim website, does that include clicking on other tabs? It was taking its time processing so I just clicked around a bit. I presumed it meant not to close the page and try re-open but am not sure now?
    TA, can you confirm?
    Cheers

    • +1

All good NoDiggerty, I've even done the same and the cash back came through :).

      • +1

Yeah mine came through as well :)
        Cheers

  • Special Terms: Cashback is paid only on a new service (SIM) which is activated within 3 months of purchase and remains active for 60 days after.

Im already on the 6 months for like 18 bucks unlimited 10 countries so im good :3

  • I'm curious as to whether someone who has previously had an Amaysim account (but is using a new Amaysim account with an unused email) qualifies if using the same ID for verification.

And how many amaysim services can one have registered to their ID?

    • Same…

    • Same, I was not currently an amaysim customer. I had ported it out, so there would be no account or anything active for months. Some people who joined but left their sim unported from the previous offer, would still technically be existing customers.

If they wanted to stretch it more, then they could include everyone who was previously an amaysim customer dating back to when it was founded, but if the idea is to get people using amaysim again that don't have any active account at amaysim; then they have lost me. I hope they lose all their customers if this is what their "Existing Customer" definition is because that is a bad business policy.

Reasonably; if the same ID is being used then it should be fine for one cashback offer, if you followed the offer rules that tightarse mentioned.

    • As far as I know so long as you use an email address that does not have an active Amaysim account/SIM card you will be fine.
SIM cards can remain active for 6 months after the prepaid/postpaid plan has ended.

Make sure adblock is disabled and cookies are enabled in your web browser.

    • For those that were wondering the same thing, I emailed Amaysim to try and get some answers. Here's what I found:

      • Using a number that was previously with Amaysim but is currently not with Amaysim is fine
      • Using your own name (as you previously probably would have) with the previous cashback promo or previous Amaysim promo is fine
      • How many Amaysim services per ID? The answer from Amaysim in regards to this was vague. "Please be advised that this is applicable for one account" - they didn't answer my question (maybe deliberately?)
      • I asked about whether the same CC could be used for multiple different services - I recall I used the same CC last time for multiple services. They simply said "as long as direct debit is active and email is valid there will be no issue" - again, not really answering the question, but based on my previous experience using the same CC is fine.
  • great, didn't track. adblock was on as last time had been fine. $20 lesson or is there a solution?

    • Didn't track even my adblock was off. CR tracking has been a hit and miss nightmare.:(

      • Tracking email arrived 3 hours later. Lucky me

        • +1

Mine arrived after umpteen hours. So I didn't miss this time>:)

  • If I'm an existing customer do I need to choose a new number?

    • +2

Yes to qualify for the cash back you must choose a new number.

      • So I don't need to cancel my old (current) number or port or anything?

        • Yes that's correct, just need to select 'new number' when the option to do so comes up.
          Hope this helped :).

        • +1

          @Wystri Warrick: Thanks; sure did!
