Is GeekBuying reliable? I placed my order on Saturday, they contacted me on Monday asking me to provide proof of identity (fair, I was using my foreign cc) which I immediately provided… and that was it. They never replied to say documents are ok/need more. I never received any confirmation email that my order was confirmed. I tried emailing them but didn't receive any answer.

      Just spoke with one of the reps at Geekbuying. They advise they had no stock and had to order more (somehow even though I ordered before many people above, my order wasn't fulfilled first). They advise stock won't arrive until late this week and then shipping will be 5-8 days after that.

  This happened to me as well. When I first booted it, it went straight to the system with no need to setup fingerprint etc. I also realised that my box didnt have the plastic seal and only had two small circle stickers to hold the back. Is this the same for you?

    This normally doesn't happen but a couple of days after this post OnePlus released the Android 8.0 update and GeekBuying decided to install the OTA update before shipping. It's one of the reasons the orders were delayed.
    
    They're brand new and not refurbished.

Ordered mine on the 4th Jan and I'm still yet to received it some 20 days later.
After emailing geekbuying to tell them their service is absolutely pathetic and I will be leaving a poor review on every review website I can find, they promptly sent me an item shipped email - however when tracking the item at Australia Post website; it says the item has not been scanned yet and potentially has not been posted yet - this was on the 19th - 4 days go now. I am not sure who to believe.

After reading many similar stories on whirlpool regarding poor service and shocking delivery times, I regret my decision to shop with geekbuying.
If ANYBODY is considering buying from geekbuying - please do yourself a favor and DO NOT waste your time.
