Not if your iPhone is already water resistant. This will just add one more layer of protection.
Some people aren’t going to care about that though, and will think this will actually be waterproof so use it the way it’s being advertised in the pictures for any phone.

More expensive means better quality? I think you find that unless you're buying a well known branded product, they're all the same.
