  • good prices. thanks op

hmm after i bought nikon d5400 to upgrade from my canon 700d canon decides to have some deals :-(

  • Any of these also not bad at doing video? Looking for something with 60fps at least.

  • That is an awesome price for the G7x MII, but still a gamble. All the sony 1" sensor cameras have varying quality of lenses from one camera to the next. So much so that reviewers keep emphasising lens sharpness (or lack of) more than likely unique to the individual camera they are testing.

  • Is the A6300 a really good bargain at this price? I notice it is body only… And is it worth the premium over the A6000? Time to watch some A6300 v A6000 comparisons on YouTube sigh

I did a lot of research recently on a mirrorless, the A6300 has overheating issues (have a google) & is apparently best to avoid. The A6500 doesn't & is apparently a far better camera but quite a bit more money.

We settled on a Panasonic GX85 whcih was only about $600 & comes with a bonus lens as well as the kit lens via redemption

      • Where did you find the GX85 for 600 plus lenses thats is a great price!

Edit: looking around and found some… Ans then realised i was thinking of G85… Getting myself confused

The gx85 is definitely one of the best bang for buck right now; great camera. And you can get reasonably cheap, great quality lenses (primes). Also great range of great zooms. It's one of those things though - do you commit to micro four thirds? I have, and I think it's pretty safe. Panasonic and olympus are the main players here and are providing great cameras and great lenses in a fairly small form factor.

  • I bought the g7x on boxing Day. Cos they dropped the price again, any chance I can ask to get refunded the price difference (cos I paid a 100 more?). I remember when JB hi-fi kept dropping the price on a LG tablet the week later they gave me the money

  • Y no Fujifilm!

  • I'm after a light camera for hiking… any suggestions?

      Canon 200D or Nikon D3400 :)

Damn, I paid $1k for the 800d about a month ago. FML.

  • The 200d with 24mm pancake would be a great combo. Small, light, durable, long lasting battery life and easy to use

  • Awesome! Thanks TRENT86. Was going to pull the trigger on buying the 800d from jbhifi last night but got distracted. Then your post comes along saving $150!!! Woohoo!

  • Which is better between Nikon D3400 and Canon 1300D?

    • The D3400 has a better sensor than the Canon 1300D but both are very basic cameras but the D3400 does have Bluetooth and you can control the camera with a phone/tablet with the Nikon App.

Both cameras are ok for beginners but none of these have self cleaning sensors which means the sensors so when they get dust on them they will need to be manually cleaned a lot more than the more advanced models, this might not be a big deal if you don't plan on changing lenses much or just stick to the kit lens.

The Canon 200D is a much better camera than the 1300d so if you can stretch your budget a bit more and want to get a Canon you are much better off spending that little bit extra to get a much better sensor and better auto focus system in live view mode and better video, the kit lens in the 200D is also a lot better with faster and quieter focusing and image stabilization that you don't get with the 1300D kit lens.

      • ""Bluetooth and you can control the camera "
Not the D3400, as it doesn't have WI-FI. You can't even transfer full files to the phone, only FHD copies.

        https://nikoninframe.co.uk/hints-and-tips/a-quick-guide-on-h…

*Because the D3400 doesn't support wi-fi you can't use the remote photography from your smart device, transfer still images at their original size, or transfer movies.""

You do get a better sensor with the Nikon, and focusing using the barrel rather than the front ring felt more natural to me as a rank amatuer but you cannot save to raw or use your phone as a remote control.

  • I got HN to do a price match on a Canon 800D because none of TG stores near me had it in stock, really good price after the cashback offer!

  • It's the lens that makes a good camera, put your money into that instead.

  • Damn, just bought the G7X for $588.40 after cashback via this 20% off eBay TGG deal on the 19th of December.

Reckon I can return this and then get this mad special?? ergh, so typical.

    • Wow the G7X is a monster bargain lol

      • IKR!

Can never win on OzB! haha

      • They've jacked the price up to 750 now

  • TGG also have the Sony RX100 III on sale now - maybe the OP can add it to the list?

  • Excellent camera and you can get sigma 30 1.4 with 20%off from ebay's seller, dcxpert, which has tax invoice.

  • The m3 comes to 400 after cash back and discount. Am I missing something?

    • Thats coz GG just upped their price….
Was gunna purchase but not now…

      • Oh. I bought it anyway step dad was after one and he was going to pay 600. So 400 is still good for him.

  • Looks like the deal is over.

  • Has anyone had any experience with click and collect with the good guys? Ordered the G7X this morning and have only got the "order received" email. How long will it take? It should be ready if they have stock no?

    • As it appears it was a pricing error(so one of the local store reps advised) it won't surprise me if some orders are cancelled…
      Hope not…

  • Just curios was the price error on all cameras or just the G7X?

    • all cameras

    • +1

It was the Good guys matching Jb's prices but they forgot they already had a 15% off code on cameras so you basically got around 25-30% off
