Prints photos in 4x6 (10.16 x 15.24 cm). If you want smaller sizes there are parts you can buy or can just cut em up to your liking.

Does not come with ink/paper but takes RP108 or KP108IN paper/ink consumables.

Looking around, a pack is about $39.95 so it costs around 0.369907c per print. This looks to be a lot cheaper than running fp100c or instax.

Is there any sense in doing this when store photo printing is both cheaper and better quality?
I just don't understand why people would buy this?

    • Parties and events

      • +1

        Diddy parties to be precise

    • My experience is this is far better quality than somewhere like officeworks but other photo specific shops may be better. The convenience of being able to print at home is nice too.

    • Bought my wife one a while ago, been quite surprised with the quality. As others have mentioned, the convenience of being able to print at home is great too.

Why would someone buy a photo printer rather than going to the store? Why would someone share their private photos with strangers when they could print it anywhere else? Why would you take photos with your phone when a standalone camera could be cheaper and better quality? Why would you store your photos on a tech company's cloud when you could store it on a hard drive? Why would you wake up early to see the sunrise when you could sleep in and see the sunset?

      • My thoughts exactly. That's why I usually sleep in.

    • Use case is printing out photos and artwork at home, e.g. imagine kids decorating their walls with photos they took of friends or artwork they like or made.

The photo labs like officeworks are a total joke in my opinion, not because of cost or print quality but because of the limited software they provide for editing, its inflexible and does not allow for the necessary control over the print process. You don't have this issue with a unit like this.

Also heaps better than using an inkjet with ink tanks.

  • Can this use any 6x4 photo paper?

    • +1

I don’t think you can. You need the ink cartridge which comes bundled with the photo paper.

    • +1

      No needs the special paper/ink

  • code doesn't seem to work. It says to Sign in or Link Rewards Card to use code, even when i have signed in

Thanks OP, have been clocking this for a year and it rarely goes below $10-20 off RRP. Great price.

  • Have one and it’s great - if you get the battery it becomes a completely portable kit (official battery is expensive but some on AliExpress for around $30-40). I’ve even taken it with me on overseas trips to visit family to print out photos while there.

Only down side is only two paper sizes normal photo print 4x6” or card size 2.1x3.4”.

Agreed with others it is cheaper to print in shop but much more convenient at home.

    • How long's the battery last - how many prints can you get? Assume you need the power brick to charge it back up?

      • +1

I’ve not really tested or measured battery life - google search says about 50 prints. Yes you need the power brick to charge as battery charges when in the printer so unfortunately can’t use a power bank - unless you can find an adapter for the power plug (large round DC input like some old laptops).

I also got a case from Ali that lets me keep the whole thing together (battery, power, printer).

Someones managed to get the type C to DC adaptor and make it work with a generic power bank, albeit one of those bigger ones that can power a laptop.
