      • Didn't realize you shower from Flush water supply.
No, rain water is connected to flush tanks and garden taps only.

        • +1

I know people who wash their dishes and shower with rainwater. Didn't die yet. If you take proper care of your water tank there shouldn't be any problems.

        • @bargainparker: Might only be in areas where water is limited with no water supply other thank rain water…

    • I'm not connected to mains water. It's either rain water or no water. I only filter water for drinking.

      • What’s a good filter for rainwater ??

  • I have Japan withdrawals solely because of this

    • +1

      Withdrawals about deposits? Hmmm.

  • this is gonna be the next enloop? lol
better jokes than condom posts here

  • +2

    What a shitty deal.

  • So wats the process after a no. 2? Spray n wipe or wipe n spray?

    • I think trial and error and what you're comfortable with. The problem with spray then wipe is because the area in question is wet, the toilet paper gets soggy, disintegrates and will stick to you. It's really only suitable for pat drying after a wash.

I've heard of some people (from countries where washing at the toilet is the custom) who will, when at home, wash on the toilet, then dry using a small towel. If you've washed sufficiently well the towel shouldn't get dirty. And then I assume they'd wash those towels separately. Sounds gross I suppose, but it'd be similar to washing reusable cloth nappies, or shit Stained baby clothes.

      • Spray and dry. That's the best combo… At least according to my experience in Japan.

  • I’d be concerned about Russian Hackers

I'd be concerned about Australian slackers

    • +1

      Denial of service?

    • +4

That's not entirely true. Not all of Xiaomi's products are sold on mi.com as they have other online stores, and very few products are made by Xiaomi themselves.

Xiaomi often invest in other companies to produce products. In this case it's made by Smartmi who manufacture the Air Purifier and other products which are sold in Xiaomi stores. Smartmi also have xiaomi.com (mi.com) emails on their own contact page.

Well you shouldn't have titled it with Xiaomi Mijia, it should have been "Zhimi Smart Toilet Seat". This bidet is still not a Xiaomi Mijia product.
It retails for RMB999 which equates to AUD$198, surely it doesn't take $205 for shipping to Australia.

        • +2

I didn't title it nor did I post it. I'm just saying that Smartmi is a Xiaomi company.

Taking a shit fast and furious style

  • +2

    Waste money

  • No dryer function!

    • Do you want a blow wave ?

    • Use a hair dryer.

    • Just dont pee on the seat

    • Can Use the vornado 660 for tornado blow

    • +1

you don't want dryer function, it's inefficient (takes forever to actually dry) and warm air only helps with breeding germs easily. better wipe off with a couple TP.

  • Perfect gift for the smart arse of the family :)

    • @TA

  • Does this take eneloops?

  • Who came here to see the poop comments ?

  • +1

Only IPX4? Would have though it'd have to be IPX5 at least. Personally I need IPX9.

  • +1

Am I poo late for the toilet runs puns?

  • +1

Damn, I guess I'm shit outta luck, just bought a conventional toilet seat which I now have to dump

  • “I am honoured to accept your waste.”

  • This toilet seat has more talent than me

  • What a product!

  • Only came in for the comments

    • They're crap quality.

  • -1

Xiaomie is bramding everything. I wont buy their products simply due to this alone.

  • +1

that a shame. no power socket near my toilet seat

  • thanks brought ZERO

  • As a fan and owner of a few Mi things now I am now waiting for DaPoop monitor! And seriously if you have not traveled in Asia I would say many Asian countries have smart toilets and they make a lot of sense. Pros include less wiping, less paper, warm water washing some bits (and ladies get another angle with the right switch). The cons, not sure, you need to get power and water to the seat, that is about it I think.

  • It's all about different cultures.

A bidet is actually better for the environment, and gives a much better and faster clean.
If you calculate how much toilet paper we use per year, the financial savings alone are considerable.

And these things clean much better than even the softest most expensive toilet paper.
People saying "No Way!" have never used one and are negative on it with never trying one.

They are slowly making headway here, but too much fear about god knows what (too gay or something?) prevents them from experiencing something quite pleasant!

You really do feel much cleaner afterwards.

    • +1

Once you make the switch from toilet paper to baby wipes you notice the difference. Just don't flush them.

      • Just wet the toilet paper before use for the same affect.

        • +1

If you like the feeling of a finger making it's way through the wet toilet paper.

        • @petestrash: Some would say this is a bonus.

  • As you sit down, the inserted sensor senses the user sitting on the toilet seat…..

    Ummm, no thanks

    • Followed by flickering data lights on your internet router

  • +2

I bought one. The issue is that the water pipe is on the right and the pipe that connects to the toilet seat is on the opposite side (left) and the pipe given is no where long enough to route the water pipe to the seat. Also the filter supplied has terrible quality on the thread, I had difficulty connecting the normal toilet pipe to the filter and ended up stripping the thread. I took it to Bunnings apparently Aus standard pipe is not 100% compatible to the Chinese one.

    • Did you manage to get it working?
If so, hows it holding up so far?

      • I bought water hose extenstions so I can connect the water from right to the seat on the left. It's still not working in terms of unable to connect the standard aus toilet water hose to the filter. I'll keep looking for an adapter maybe on the weekend. Bunnings don't have any as I went Sunday.

  • If you have read this far, here is an Easter egg:

order it from taobao and the Chinese domestic price is 999 RMB, which is a bit less than 200 AUD.

    • 999 RMB you have to wait a month plus delivery.

1199RMB you get it delivered right away

But postage from China is tricky….
If you know how TaoBao works, then it's gonna cost roughly (I am guessing ) $50_$70 postage by sea. Airport is double almost I believe.

Unless you have friend to bring it over for you, I believe it's cheaper from geekbuying or gearbest.

But still postage time is about 4_5 week

      • Not even sure what happens if custom gives you sh*t when clearing custom

  • I really really want to buy one …But my wife says no. She doesn't believe in this sh*t. Stubborn beeeaach

    • +1

It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission

    • A woman that wouldn't want a bidet!? There's a rare creature. Tell her it means less cleaning of the toilet - no 'clingons on the starboard bow'.

  • I bought this one a couple of years ago from this seller during an eBay 20% sale.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Auto-Electric-Toilet-Bidet-S…

It has the same functions + added heated blow dryer. It hasn't missed a beat, and is currently $265 shipped without using any current coupons like p5ozzie

    • How did you go with installation? Any pointers?

  • -1

I don't know where the original price come from, I can get Japan made TOTO toilet washlets for same price,I think this original price should less than $200

    • The Toto ones are great quality and the ones I most regularly see used in commercial applications. Where do you get them from?

  • +1

It was reported in August that this would be $150 USD: http://www.homecrux.com/2017/08/14/78107/xiaomi-unveils-us15…

  • Do these heat the water continuously, or does it only start heating when you sit down? Does it have some kind of tank to store the hot water?? I'd like to fit one to a motorhome, but not if it's using power 24/7.

    • Once the sensor sees an arse, it starts warming the water.

      • +1

So it won't waste power unless politicians drop by to visit me in the motorhome. Thanks.

  • If you wanna save some money these also work perfectly.

Imho better than nothing and cheaper than a domino's delivery meal deal.
