This should be much cheaper with the S25 coming out in Jan.

Being an import stock, there is the risk being banned, right? I learned that recently

All the global version we have sold over this year have had no problems S928B

    • Yep, imported phones are far more likely to be blocked, generally speaking (or not have the required bands)

      Yes

MyMobile have invented their own "AMTA tick" certification: https://mymobile.com.au/blogs/news/3g-network-is-shutting-do…

But then as an Australian based retailer, they list this BS:

Disclaimer: This information is subject to change without notice. We cannot be held responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on this information. Please contact your mobile carrier directly for the most up-to-date information regarding your specific device."

all website that have listed anything about the emerging calling on 4G including telstra and Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association, have the same disclamer , is was a legal requirement, yes it is BS, but needed red tape for infomation about 3G closing down

        • Do you guarantee that all 3 phones listed in the deal will work with all 3 carriers during their listed 12 month warranty period?

If so, what remedies will you provide if the phone is IMEI/TAC banned during the warranty period?

          • +2

@Look Up: we have tested the samsung 24 ultra and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra 5G and the Sony Xperia 1 VI XQ-EC72 on all 3 networks and they all work perfect

            • +1

              @MyMobile: Please answer the question

What remedies will you provide to customers who take up this deal and find their phone is IMEI/TAC banned during the warranty period?

              • -1

@Look Up: Hello Look up , we have not really thought about it to be honest as we are very confident the phones will not have any problems , I would like to hear want you think would be far please

  • OP, can you please provide the TAC code for one of these devices? (first 8 digits of IMEI)

I will check when in the shop tommorow, you want to check the amta or telstra compatible website ? we have tested both many times

Imagine a third party import being cheaper than official distributor with such a huge difference. The level of price gouging by local AU distributors and retailers is next level.

Hence, why the local telcos and resellers of local stock saw a big "christmas bonus" when there was a "business opportunity" with 3G shutdown. Just invent a "block list" for phones perfectly capable of 4G so people will have no choice but to cough up more money during this "cost of living crisis"

  • Id steer clear of grey import Samsung's purely on the manufacturer warranty hassle, but with a potential risk of it being blocked in Australia is a second deal breaker.

Had a horrible time claiming warranty on local warranty handset. Samsung is notorious for giving you the run around.

      • I had Samsung just flat out refuse warranty for grey stock. Live and you learn I guess..

        • I am sorry to hear about those experience, I think we have had 3 samsungs returned for wararnty in 2 years, one was s23 ultra dead pixels , it was quite a large amount not really sure want happened but we replaced his screen and he was happy , the other was samsung a15 ac port was not charging , we just replaced the port very easy job , last one the phone was freezing another a15 , can not really find the fault but it is the 2nd time he come in we will replace it .

I hope you guys know what statutory warranty is. That 12 month bs is not cutting it anymore.

  • I'm still using my grey imported Xiaomi 14 with no issues. Agree that everyone should weigh up their own risk appetite. But I do commend MyMobile for bringing this deal and taking the effort to test it out on the local networks before posting.

  • Aw No Oppo Find X7 Ultra or Vivo X100 Pro / Ultra ?
