  • couldnt find the speed or class for this , i just bought similar for 20 pickup class 6 wonder how it compares

  • Bought one of these a few week ago. Great price but I wish it came with an sd adaptor so I can use it with my camera.

    • what class is it? or hows the speed ?

      • Not sure what class but its not very fast. I just did some real-world tests i.e. transferred 1.5gb movie over to the card and back. Around 3.5MBps write and 4.3MBps read.

  • guys, just click the picture, scroll down abit you can see it has class 2…
    slow but cheap

    • Actually it doesnt say class 2 anywhere, on the picture of the card it has the number 2 though , so yes its a class 2

Not much of a deal except the free shipping

      http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=8gb++sdhc&s…

      • Mikinoz, please retract your "not much of a deal" comment, and compare apples with apples… your link points to SD cards - these are MicroSD!

        • Actually no mine is for all , take a look that the 6th item in the static ice search it is a 8gb micro sdhc

its faster ie class 6 and only 1 dollar more , anything else you want to pick out about without actually looking ?

Tigharse if you were right i would change it, but you are not!

        • Not in the habit of looking half way down a page when someone posts a Staticice link. Only look at the first few.

      • I guess it's the premium you pay for a SanDisk card :) Reported to perform on par with class 4/6 of other brands.

        • -1

          Jiggles, see post above.

      • Just followed the link on the 6th item down on the staticice link and it says out of stock. looks like a no name brand as well.

        • Hey your right no stock (i didnt mention they had stock did i?), did you also notice apus have a class 6 for just over 1 dollar more.

        • Mikinoz, im sure if you keep adding another dollar, the product gets better and better.
Can you give a direct link to the class 6 card, I cant find it on the other page?
Here is the link to the apus website and I can only find a SDHC card for that price, not a micro.
          http://www.apus.com.au/products.php?showProduct=32

        • so if you take off a dollar it makes it a bargain nickv18?, its an example

how bout you find it yourself 8gb micro type that into static ice

        • Mikinoz, can you post the link to the class 6 one please. Can't find it on Apus either.

  • Not saying that this is fake but just beware that counterfeit flash storage is rife on ebay.

    • 99.6% positive eBay votes out of over 24,000 generally points to a genuine seller.

      • More so that the products genuinely work than a seller of genuine products.

      • Its apus or shoppingsqaure

      • Actually that's no guarantee, most fake flash sellers work very hard to threaten, bribe or otherwise manipulate their way around legit negative feedbacks. They sell cheap items like screen protectors to build up positive feedback and then hold on to the account for a few months before they start flogging the fake flash. When they get too many negs they move on to another pre-prepared account.

The only time you can buy flash on eBay is when you're buying from a known legit retailer. For all the dodginess of Apus/ShoppingSquare's customer service, they don't sell fakes.

You should test any flash memory (especially USB drives, SD cards and cheap MP3 players) you buy from any source (online or in store) with h2testw.

    • +3

apusauction is shoppingsquare's ebay sales devision. Not guaranteed to be genuine but very likely

  • I think they are real, but again how do you know you get the real one in few days time after you receive the memory card?

    • You can test your flash memory products with a neat little program for Windows called h2testw.

You can download it here (click the download button, don't worry about the page being in German) or here.

Put your card in a reader (or digital camera, etc.) and plug it in to your PC. When you start it, click the English button. Then pick "Select Target", pick your card then click "Write + Verify". It'll take a long time (hours) but you can leave it in the background and do other stuff on your PC (no rebooting though) or you can let it work at a time when you're not using your PC. When it's done it'll tell you whether it passed or failed, and if it failed it'll tell you the real capacity. You can then delete the files it made on your card.

  • Don't understand why they can do free shipping on ebay but charging $9.99 @ SQ? SO they want to give ebay $$$?
