P5OZZIE
Credit to Wandan for the (slightly) lower price

Made a big splash when it was posted back in July at $80
Now its $15 cheaper, but I'm predicting it won't do as well vote wise. Maybe 20 +-5. We'll see

Albany WA, which is 400kms from Perth. Postage on Ebay is a $52, a bargain in comparison…

    "Dishwasher Safe: No"
Deal breaker for me as I hate manually wiping down my cook tops….

  • I recently had to but an induction cook plate while I wait for my new kitchen (don't have a stove). I'm very impressed with the heat up time and amount of power they provide. Bought the Big W cheapo at $45 as the tefal unit was close to $100 at the time. The tefal will work with a small pot down to 12 cm …. the Big W one needs a bigger pot, says 15 cm min.
This Tefal one looks nicer and you are more likely to find instructions on the internet if you loose the ones that come with the unit.
They are also great for outdoor cooking of things like fish so house doesn't stink out or get that oil mist in the air.

Next ambition is try it on a flat bottomed induction compatible wok and my induction paella pan.

Induction cooking …. try it you will love it.

  • Wouldn't mind a good deal on a double plate

  • I've been eying these induction hobs for a while now. A lot of online comments complain about how these units (not just Tefal, but all induction hobs) are very poor at simmering. Does anyone have experience using a "simmer mat"? Does it fix the poor simmering?

  • Reassure me that you aren't cooking meth and that when you indicate "Pickup at The Good Guys", that will not in any way involve you dressing-up as a sophisticated street urchin?

    Tentative upvote.
    Lucky vote 13…

    :-)

Lowish deal-vote concerns, be-cos, salad weather?

Hmm, well I was joking. No reply equals worst fears confirmed.

If scotty's thread looks like it won't reach 1000 comments, I'll be looking for your "Clothes for Sophisticated Street Urchins Anonymous" as a charity suggestion.

The world is going to hell :(

      Have an uneventful weekend.
