  • Anyone know the quality of this product?

  • a lot of stuff on your desk.. just get a usb mic?

USB Mics don't play with mixing decks - which are critical to play nice with any professional level setup.

      • I've got an AT2020 XLR mic. Probably should have got the USB model but thought I'd be fancy.

I currently run the XLR into a Zoom h4n when I want to get audio directly into my computer via USB. Looking for something more permanent to sit on the desk. Can you recommend a decent USB device for handling two XLR inputs (w/ phantom power option) and outputting to my computer by USB?

          Maybe BEHRINGER U-PHORIA UMC202HD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QHURUBE ?

A Roland Duo-Capture-EX will do the job, but at over $200 it's not the cheapest. I got mine from a generous friend (long story) a while back…

Search for the cheapest mixing deck with usb output. I think the Behringer 1002 has a usb model for example. Should be around $100 . Plastic spacemans link is nice and more modern, but a mixing deck is what you'll eventually move to.

  • This is a lot of kit for the price and for amateur use it's a perfect deal. All the bits allow maximum flexibility if you choose get into it further too so unlike a simple USB desk mike, this collection can be used as you buy more expensive gear over time. I have a few Neewer accessories and they are typically good quality generic chinese stuff badged as neewer. I've been happy with my gear from them so far.

I just noticed this combo is US$50 on amazon and they wont ship to AU which shows this deal to be rather good.

  • Deciding between this or a Samson Go. Was planning to get a boom stand as well which would've been $65 for Samson Go.

How do they compare for ease of use and just simple desktop use for chatting to mates?

  • I laughed at the comment "provided you have a computer with a USB port."

I can't think of ANY computer that wouldn't have a USB port! Even my 'vintage' collection of crap still isn't that old…

    • Depends on the computer and required usb port version. You might need to get other connectors like if you have a macbook.
