  • Deadwood can't be the complete series. He didn't end up making the closing movie.
I watched it again last year, and while I enjoyed it, I was surprised by how dated it was, considering how far out it was at the time.

    • Saw a lot of discussions about that as well, I considered putting in "(in)complete" but didn't want to open a can of worms.
Haven't seen it myself but have heard good things so will give it a shot.

    • Just curious, what about it did you find dated? I love it, except for a few aspects (never got invested in the acting troop) and watch it once a year.

      • Swearing and violence.

    • The movie is probably going to happen. There is a script, schedules are being organised, etc. They're aiming to shoot it next year.

    • It's completed in the sense that they ceased making the show.

      • +3

……..and incomplete "in the sense that they ceased making the show.", bastards. Rome and this one annoy the socks off me!

  • Very slow drama, some will love it, some will hate it.

    • An IMDB rating of 8.7 with 73908 votes, would tend to indicate a majority will enjoy it.

Just be careful ordering through Zavvi. After years of ordering through them I've finally given up on them. They screw up too many orders either sending out inferior variations of things you ordered, things turning up so damaged they look worse than a dog's favourite tennis ball or just flat out not sending items out at all leaving it up to you to cancel the order a month or so later.

Zavvi used to be alright up until a couple of years ago but after giving them 3-4 chances I can't see myself ordering anything from them again. I'd rather pay a little bit extra to say Amazon UK, you know you're not dealing with a tinpot operation.

    • they were always like that - you must have just been lucky until recently. Gave up years ago

      • I've learnt my lesson they're just too dodgy. The final straw was an order of two items a blu-ray and a graphic novel. A month later the blu-ray still hadn't even been dispatched and instead of sending me the graphic novel they sent a single issue comic that I could've bought at a local comic store for half the price Zavvi charged me. I was livid. The only reason I ordered the graphic novel was in the hope it would protect the blu-ray from being damaged. The last BR box set I ordered looked like it had been used as the office football before posting it out to me.

After a few emails back and forth they finally agreed to refund me for the graphic novel I asked if they had any plans to send out the other half of my order they gave a mealy mouthed answer so I just cancelled it.

    • Ouch, sorry to hear your experience. I haven't ordered from them for a while (last one was Dec 2015) and my experience have been ok.
Completely forgot about them until now when I was looking for some Tim Burton films.
Fingers crossed my stuff won't arrive mangled.

      • Hopefully not for your sake. Just one too many screwed up orders now on top of the numerous box sets I've bought from them with smashed disc holders inside and loose discs scratched flying around inside the case. I've honestly never had any issues like these with Amazon US or UK.

  • Absolutely loved Deadwood! I've watched it a few times. The character development is incredible, and the dialogue is excellent.

If you give it a few episodes you will be hooked!

If I bothered to buy physical copies of digital media these days I'd snap it up!

  • House the complete collection in bluray isn't a bad price either

  • +1

    …(profanity)!

  • Want the hobbit so bad but it needs to be extended edition thanks anyway op
