same thing happenend at my local JB hifi the other day , it was mislabeled $229 but they quickly fixed it after myself and someone else picked one up
Amazon to Ozbargain is like dbrand to YouTube, everyone's going to be posting up deals
I don't really know this product at all, but Jbhifi have had a promotion for a few days on what looks like the same product for $229, so maybe not an error?
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/deals/tv-home-entertainment/audio/…EDIT: ah I see what you mean, the wording on the Amazon white one is the Alexa version
Looks like the same price at HN

Old model
I want the Sonos One to be on sale
Alexa is not available in Australia so no way they will sell it here, I bought it from the US site
The Sonos one is available from the Sonos AU website (at RRP $299, free Delivery), with a clear listing saying that the voice is not functional yet.
Still rather the newer mod over the old one
Bought it from jb hifi yesterday
Agreed.
I believe the areas of the home in which this model is likely to be used, make having microphones a useful feature for future applications. Think bathroom, kitchen, rear surrounds, bedroom, etc. and the various digital assistants that are going cross-platform.
Black version description refers to play 1. Amazon rely on manufacturers to provide accurate descriptions - so most likely a marketing/packaging issue with sonos…
I went to HN the other day and they had old model with new model all in a big pile and a sign saying $229 each
Grabbed the new model and was told it was a mistake and only the old Model was on sale. I put up a little stink about it be under a big sign and loads of them but they wouldn’t do anything about it and I wanted to buy 2 of them
The person at JB told me they were legally required to honor the mistake for the Sonos one, they were all in a stack with the price on top. I guess it depends on the staff member
Yea this is technically what they should do. I mean people make mistakes, and also customers move stuff like this all the time to try and get discounts.
RRP of this product is $229 so effectively a $1 discount https://www.sonos.com/en-au/shop/play1.html
They recently lowered the RRP from $299
You can buy it cheaper if you shop around :)
Just going into a VideoPro at this time of year and haggling should be sufficient.
Old model
Being replaced in a month or so time
$229 is now standard price.due to description error I was given a full refund and advised to donate or dispose , can not fault Amazon customer service :)
Hmm, I'm surprised AmazonAU are making rookie mistakes like this?
