    Thanks, bought one.

    Ended up with Order Total:AU$0.94

    • 91c with 28 degrees :)

    • Screwed up my pricing woops.

  • Shame there isn't the option for a crossover version, which really comes in handy when there isn't a hub/switch about.

    • +4

Normally don’t need crossover cables anymore. Should auto detect / negotiate.

      • …only applies to gigabit(And newer/faster) NICs, megabit ones and earlier still requires a cross-over cable….

        • +3

I think that LoopyLou was talking about Auto-MDI-X which is a fairly common* feature on network interfaces that let you use a patch cable as a crossover cable for 10/100Mbit equipment.

          • Wasn't that common in the real old days, but I'd be surprised if recent 10/100 device didn't have it now

Megabit technology is so last decade. It's amazing what you could do with 10 of these will get you though. They pop open down the middle, snip, solder, crossing tx and rx and then close back up.

Then you have 9 normal, 1 cross over for $0.94 + 15m of your time at MOST

Tape centre back together if necessary and label X-OVER

    • I thought crossover is just swap the wires around?

      Example

Edit: my bad. Didn't check its not an RJ plug but inline socket.

    • Be more useful if they were keystone for patch panels, wall plates, etc.

  • I just bought 1 for $5 from jaycar because I needed one same day
    Frigging ridiculous

Your scenario pretty much describes how they stay in business.

    • Been there, done that.

Did they try upsell you from the $5 version to the $17-$20 versions, too?

      • jaycar isnt that bad, better than mr dick

        • Never had that at Dick Smith, get it all the time at Jaycar.

Most of the time its comically amusing, so I don't hold it against them. When you prove you know what your talking about they back down pretty quickly anyway.

Everyone's got to make a dollar somehow right? End of the day they're just doing their jobs.

    • …could have got one from me….for 50 cents pickup if you live in Perth(or near there at least anyways)…..got loads of them on impulse purchase….lol Never-mind, you live on the other side of Australia…

Ew, the site makes you register to test the code, only to tell you after the code has only 36 uses. Smart way to get thousands of shoppers to register at the cost of just a few bucks.

Pretty much all Chinese sites require you to register to use coupons. Infact that's the case with most websites in general.

      Welcome to OzBargain!

      • Just seems kind of sneaky. Gearbest don't limit their OzBargain targeted deals to 36 codes.

        • +1

Gearbest are owned by a multibillion dollar clothing empire so they can afford the loss unlike these smaller companies. They do however have 5pc limits on some super deals occasionally.

Government brodened it for the NBN.
