Marked as "clearance" on BigW's website.
Earlier in January I purchased mine for $69 (on special!) from Coles.
It is possible to use insert a microSD card into the USB stick and use as storage. Also unlocking is possible (search on Whirlpool).

Does Vodafone still charging for unlocking these USB sticks?
I have got a THREE SIM
will that work with this USB dongle, since the Vodafone and Three are the same company now.
Highly unlikely it'll work for Three, unless you unlock.
There are ways to unlock without $…. do a Google search :p
So without support for UMTS 850MHz it wont work with Hel$tra
Of course not.
Telstra has tow parallel networks
Faster/better 850 MHz "nextG" network
Bit slower 2100 MHz 3G/HSPA Network
On this modem it will only work with 2100 MHz bit slower network.
I would like to add that whilst this is a good price, that after owning one, i would have preferred to spend more for a better one.
$7 shipping kills the deal for me.
There is a code "CC40" showing on the right, for 5 bux off, but $40 minimum spend.
Now showing:
Free delivery - Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 November only.
FYI, the photo is incorrect (the one on the Big W site showing the retracting USB plug).
This is really good! I payed $99 for one from vodafone when I lost my old one.
If it is Huawei K3765…
- Getting it to work with Windows 7 64-bit is not straight forward. I think you need to install software from Vodafone Web site first (rather than using the one on the provided CD)
- The dongle is voice capable, but the default software does not have dialing pad. In case you want to use it, most broadband SIMs do not come with any call credits.
- Unlocking it is easy once you get the dongle to work properly.
My main gripe is getting it to run under Windows 7 64-bit can be a bit tricky. In terms of hardware capabilities, it is quite good.
If you can get it and activate the SIM before the end of November, you get 3G download (1 month expiry though).
I have one of these (vodafone prepaid) that I unlocked and now use with exetel (on their $0 / month for 50MB, then 2c/MB plan) for light use on an ubuntu netbook. It works great.
how did you unlock this one?
did you have the exact same model?
Specs would be nice…
