Not really a deal. Effectively $96.50 for the 100/40 plan and you're locked in for 24 months…

    • I recommend avoiding as unlimited data means that you can expect that congestion will occur due to Vodafone purchasing insufficient CVC.

4G backup service does add value.

      • Vodafone is running at 30:1

        • What does this mean?

        • +1

@SharedSugar: 30:1 is the contention ratio. It means that if you purchase a 100Mbps plan, Vodafone will purchase 3.33Mbps of CVC. On 25Mbps (most common speed) it means 0.83Mbps of CVC per customer. Industry average is 1Mbps per customer so this is around that.

What it means is that without quotas a few users on the same POI can thrash network (especially during peak periods). The unfortunately reality is that performance can change from good to bad literally overnight if Vodafone develop a reputation for good performance on unlimited plans as heavy downloaders will migrate.

  • Vodafone with NBN? That'll do me. ffs lol

Vodafone is a dirty word and still is.

Updated title and incl terms and conditions

Speeds are variable clause will cover their backsides in case of congestion issue. Especially since all their plans are Unlimited. Proceed with caution

Another one jumps onto the NBN bandwagon. Expect lots of congestion problems and several unhappy customers. The NBN is truly a great Australian scam

    • The scam is RSPs selling unlimited plans with insufficient CVC.
The NBN from day 1 was designed to see the primary increase in revenue come from data usage (CVC), which is smart considering the increase in requirements from SHD to FHD to QHD.

Anyone who signs up to an NBN plan with a lock-in contract (from any provider!) needs to get their head examined (Urgently!!) 😉

    • -1

Unfortunately many have to get a contract, because of the fees associated with the first time connection, which could be hundreds of dollars.

      • Of the top of my head, I can think of at least 3 providers that don't charge setup fees, don't force you to buy hardware from them and have no lock-in contract.

For those that charge setup fees on no-contract NBN plans, it's usually in the $100 mark or less.

Please please people, don't go on an NBN plan with a lock-in contract. That network is in a massive state of flux now with both the ACCC and NBN Co CEO saying that big changes to the wholesale pricing will need to be made

        • Could you give us any examples? Am looking for just that!

          @orange16:
Amaysim, Tangerine Telecom, Bendigo Bank Telecom to name but a few.

Neither charge setup fees on the NBN or have a lock-in contract

        • Thanks - Just a headsup Bendigo Bank no longer appears to offer NBN

I find TPG better though slightly slower speed than above plan probably. 6 months contract only, $59.99/month unlimited ADSL2+.

  • It’s already 3 months free without the promo code. I doubt it will give an extra 3 months free with the promo code.
