I could use my AMEX Harvey Norman deal to get the ipad for $260 ($300 minus $40 from TRS as Im going overseas shortly)
The only thing that puts me off the ipad is the low storage, whereas the Samsung i have expandable option.

Are you sure the ipad is eligible for the $100 off? Are Apple products not excluded?
TRS is not 10% off, it's (10/11)% off, so more like $36.AMEX cant distinguish what product you are buying, and many other OZB'ers are saying theyve received the cashback.

Why even ask? If you can get Ipad for <$300 then ipad is way better choice than this tablet.
Agreed. We had two Samsung tablets non functional after 12 months each. Ipad all the way!
Lucky for you they were covered by a 2 year warranty so Samsung repaired them!

Good tablet for $239. Not amazing and the chipset's GPU is pretty anemic — won't play 3d games at a good framerate but good for media consumption.
Can you give an example of what is amazing?
Don't get the tab, get a android phone.
