Damn I thought it was an inanimate carbon rod, how am I going to save the day now?

  • Actually an ok price for this tripod. The Sirui gear is very nice. I have one of their aluminium tripods and a carbon monopod - the quality is excellent. I would like one of these for walking…just not prepared to stump up the $250 atm. There is an aluminium version at a much lower price, but it has a lower load rating too. Love their gear so far though!

  • This is a great travel tripod, it is super lightweight, tiny when folded yet almost full sized. It is no RRS TVC-45 but it is awesome when traveling.

Here is some photos I took recently in Singapore with a Sony A7R2 on this tripod.

  • i've got the aluminium version of this tripod and highly recommend it.

Very compact but works a treat holding my mirrorless setup

  • Wow so now you guys are pretending to be random newbies posting deals for Selling Out Soon?

    You guys are so annoying.

    • I must have missed something. Who is that directed to?

I've been a member here for a while, however i've never posted a deal, nor do i read all the banter in the comments (generally skip over and only read those that are useful toward the deal).
This is my first deal that i've posted so apologies if anything here has offended you.

Trying to be like the true OzBargainers on here, i reached out the the seller and requested a better deal than the standard price.
I am not affiliated with the seller, apart from messaging them and purchasing this product from them, but if you want me to mark it associated i am happy to.

Sorry bud, I jumped the gun too fast.

SOS tend to not be the most popular on OZbargain.

        Cheers, best to you.

  • I had the aluminium version of this tripod, was fantastically lightweight and this would be moreso. I eventually got rid of it for a slightly taller tripod (I'm 6'2") but miss how portable the Sirui was. One issue I had was that the centre column is fixed in place, you don't have the option to drop it down for extra support. This meant that the tripod moved a lot if there was any wind around. Might not be an issue for you though!

    • It does seem like the high centre of gravity (mostly the camera) would cause some issues, thanks for pointing that out!

  • Add my name to the list of happy Sirui users.. I have the slightly taller/sturdier (and therefore heavier) Carbon TX series T-1205x and it's been fantastic. I did look at the T-025x but with a Full Frame DSLR and a hefty lens it was a little unstable with the centre post extended and a little too short without but for a lighter combo it would have been ideal.

  • You can buy something similar on ebay for $90ish

The Sirui us 0.8kg vs the one in your link being 1.2kg
The Sirui height when folded is 30cm vs the one in your link at 35cm.

The Sirui is a more portable tripod, but the one you linked is certainly cheaper. Can’t speak on the build quality but the Sirui gets fantastic reviews.

For me, compactness and well reviewed product wins out over the unknown ebay one, even at greater cost.

      • I did say similar but at a $160 saving for those considering wanting to use for holiday/travel photos which in my case I did buy that "unknown brand" at the time and was built well to do the job for my hikes over my heavy duty CF manfrotto which I left back home.

The specs difference are very minor, either way both are very compact/lightweight and comes down to best bang for buck.

Added bonus is that it can convert into a monopod as well.

There are similar knock offs with good reviews on unknown brands
