Flybuys Members Spend $80? Per Week at Coles 18 Nov - Dec 15 Get 1 $20 Voucher (Invitation Only?)

41

mod - update. This looks like it's for Flybuy members only and is only per your invitation.

If you threw yours out, you don't normally read their mail, you haven't received the advert or your advert is illegible then this info may be of use to you.

Most people confirm:
- you have to spend at least a set minimum every week between 18 Nov and 15 Dec
- the per week minimum varies from one invitation to the other
- some of the minimums quoted include $60, $80, $100
- most people believe or have read that the reward is one $20 gift voucher at the end of the promotion (and not one gift voucher every week, which it was originally believed to be from a drenched flyer)

I got a postcard from Flybuy yesterday.
It says spend $80 or more at Coles between 18 Nov and 15 Dec per week you will get $20 off.
Because it was storming over here in Sydney, the whole flyer got really wet could not scan it!:( I could bearly read it, hopefully I read it right. pretty sure I did.
I cannot find anything on the website, will try calling my local Coles to confirm.

Thanks!

  • Funny mine says spend $100 for those weeks to get a $25 card.

Sounds like it is by invitation with different spend levels, so if you dont get one of there cards in the mail I would not be counting on the voucher for the spend amounts listed.

looks its 25% off which is pretty good.
I wonder if my local Coles CSO knows about it.
Last time I went there with the $5 OFF survey voucher, they took 10 mins to work out how it works!

        Actually no…

You have to spend the amount ($80/$100) each week between 18/11-15/12. Is that 4 weeks or 5? Anyway it certainly is nowhere near 25%

From how I read it you only get 1 gift card for spending $80-100 each week for all of the weeks listed?

        • Sounds like a Flybuy deal!

        • I agree. Mine reads "spend $80 every week between 18/11-15/12, which is $320 in total, then you get a $20 voucher".

        • OMG, then I will probably forget about it.
I thought you get $20 each week as long as you spend $80 in that week.

        • mine says I have to spend $130 per week to get a $30 gift voucher. Im insulted!

  • Odd, I thought mine said $25 for every $75 spent. I only briefly glanced through it though. Will double check later.

  • Well mine says spend a minimum of $150 each week between 18 November and 15 December (4 weeks = $600 minimum) and get a $40 gift card by 31 January 2011. That's equates to about 6.7% discount. WOW…Not!

  • Mine was either $60 or $65, however I have no intention of participating. Wish I could transfer it to one of you guys!

    • My dad's one was $65/week for a $20 gift card.

      • This is probably the best offer so far;

$260 spend (over 4 weeks) results in $20 gift card.

        • I got $65 too

      • same here. this deal sucks!

i would like to spend the money in woolie's shops to get 20% off (amex's deal, 50 dollar gift card for every 250 dollors spent

    • Mine said spend that each week, get one gift card at the end.

  • Hey, so if this is by invitation only, then it's not a bargain? Mods remove?

    • I guess this post helps me to know what offer other people got, otherwise I would never know it can be $65/w or $150/w. I might like to call flybuys and ask if they could change my invitation to $65/w and $500 on C/C, then stack them up to get $40 out of 500 total spending, that's not too bad and I might participate.

    • True … we've left other deals up for those who generally chuck out the junk mail. Leaving it up lets them know there is possibly something in their Flybuys mail, this time.

Also, for the discussion as different people seem to be getting very different offers

  • I'm a Coles source master card user and have received a email today saying 'spend total $500 with the card before 15th Dec and get a $20 gift card', which is not too bad.

    • If this is the case I would say they probably would be stackable? One gift card being supplied by Flybuys and the other direct from Coles Source?

      • I believe so, but my source card said $1000 to get $20, which is not good at all.

    • 4% off, not too bad? dont think so.

amex and woolworths (including bigw, dan murfy, dse, etc) offer $50 gift car for every $250 spent before 15/12 too.

      • Don't have to spend $500 at Coles alone. You can pay utility bills with it

  • Mine was spend $65 a week, for the next 4 weeks to get $20 back.

So the cashback is really 7.7%

    • Not sure if the amounts are random or they are based off how good a customer you are for Flybuys, my offer only works out to be < 6.5%

  • Mine was $80 per week and get $20 gift card, and an email from source C/C said $1000 on C/C within that period for another $20 gift card. However I have no intention to participate either, flyer was in the bin already, I will concentrate on the hopscotch from amex this month.

Mine was $70 per week for those period and get $20 giftcard. This is from Flybuys.
Then my wife also got an email from Coles Source Mastercard, the offer is to spend more than $250 with that mastercard within the promotional period, then will receive $20 giftcard.

I'm thinking of buying with my wife's coles mastercard then scan my flybuy card, so hopefully in the end we will get 2x$20 gift cards.

Still, for me to spend >$70.00 each week at Coles, it's too much already. Wish I can use it at Coles Express as well for the fuel, then it's definitely good deal.

    • I believe this is definitely a bargain to combine both deals, spend $280 and get $40, that's 12.5% off your groceries. Plus you still get flybuy points like 250 points if use it wisely, which worth an extra $2.

  • I called source card service centre and ask why I need to spend $1000 to get the gift card, and the lady said that's because my source card has no annual fee. Any one can confirm that info? Are you paying annual fee to get the $250=>$20 offer? Cheers.

  • Mine was 4 X $75 once per week over the offer period for a $20 return. Completed today.

Ended up spending $600 in five lots - should have only needed to do four lots. Forgot my FlyBuys card 2nd last lot. Found trying to buy $75 of groceries ended up being over $100 usually - even $130. Normally over this period I'd only spend $200 to $300 in Coles. My Woolies spending dropped a lot. Successful marketing as far as I was concerned - I really only meant to just make the $75 each time but didn't do any adding up as I went.
