Planet Earth is one of the greatest documentaries ever made

  • Excuse my ignorance but is this Planet Earth collection both series?

Seems like it's the 5 disc 1st series AND the 2 disc 2nd series right?

Amazing deals ! Those blu-ray prices will keep dropping as those movies get upgraded to 4K

    • It will take as long for all BDs to get upgraded to 4K as it took all DVDs to get upgraded to BD.

Future films will support it, but the back catalog is going to take a long time.

      • One reason I skipped the Dark Knight trilogy in this deal is apparently Nolan has been working on it this year. With the popularity of comic book heroes, the fact it was shot on 35mm and IMAX, would improve with HDR and the amount of money it could bring in it'll likely happen within the next 12-24 months.

XMen movies won't be any better regardless of a 4K upgrade, might get slightly better visuals/audio but not much.

No point getting Jurassic Park collection, more Jurassic World on its way
X-Men of course also not including all movies

    • It's a shame the X-Men box doesn't contain Logan or Deadpool (which was set in the X-Men universe), two of the best movies to come out of the series. At $3 a movie on bluray it's hard to complain too much though.

Plus none of the movies in the pack will be much improved in 4K except Apocalypse, whereas Deadpool was shot in 4K and Logan in HDR. So it's probably not worth buying any earlier films anyway, and there's at least a couple more years of films to come.

  • If I order this can I add it to my Netflix?

No only Stan, that's why I'm with Stan.

  • I was really hoping it was the 90s X-Men cartoon

Shame the Planet Earth disc collection does not include this episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4dYWhkSbTU

  • Wow nice. Got the ultraviolet + digital content too. V nice. Thanks OP!

  • I've somehow only seen the first X-Men film, so guess I will pick that up. THanks.

  • Which card are people finding the best to avoid currency conversion fees - and card service fees?

28 Degrees MasterCard is the one. No fees and better exchange rates than Amazon.
