  • You should just add it to the Aldi post with the TV , all the specials should be linked to that to stop the spam, Great deal though!

    • it was,

almost a dupe, really need to categorize these…

Totally agree one day everything in the catalouge will be a bargain and listed here, becomming a spam site now alas

  • Can you get firmware updates?

    • When they find out it has problems , yes

Personally i would be reading up on the last pvr that they sold to check if it got a firmware and how buggy it was

      • Thanks, yeah it would be nice to find out some more specs about it!

  • The consensus seems to be its naff and nasty.

Also be aware that with moves afoot on DVB-T2 and IPTV, there's likely to be upheaval in the HD PVR box market in the next few years.

    • I am curious :) - what does the second url (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1201261) have to do with this current offer - it relates to a model well over a year old and does not refer to this model. For example the early posts note there is no USB socket and this one clearly has one.

  • This is not a deal. I bought a similar one from Aldi a couple of years ago, and it spent more time in the repair shop and the moment it went out of warranty, it became cost prohibitive to fix. Save your 200 bucks and put it towards something more reliable by the majors.

  • I got the 320gig version about a year/18 months ago that doesn't have USB (wish it did). Once the firmware was upgraded, don't have anything to complain about for the cost. I've no experience with other PVRs, but the menus and the navigation in general is pretty clunky, but it works. I think they are rebadged dtech models (or something similar), which were selling for a lot more that the Aldi one.

  • these things need a dvd player built in, wonder if you could attach a USB DVD player….
    ohh and network player…
would be great if they updated the firmware to allow usb wireless!

Did anyone get one of these? Are they any good? Aldi was sold out when I went :(
