Ah the timing.. if I only hadn't purchased this one https://www.gearbest.com/men-s-watches/pp_688911.html?wid=21

    • Yeah, ran out of watch budget

  • anyone know if invictas come in less than 40mm? a 38mm diver in the classic submariner style is what I'm looking for ideally haha

    • +2
      • woah thanks! might actually pull the trigger on this one :)

        • +1

Just a heads up - that is a quartz model and one review says that the crown doesn't screw down, so the 200 metres water resistant claim is highly unlikely.

You should really look at the 40mm Pro Divers. Link to the deal is in the description.

        • @WatchNerd: thank you so much for the advice but on my wrist I prefer watches up to a 38mm so in this case (no pun intended haha) I will happily take a quartz movement over the auto :)

        • -2

          @WatchNerd:

I've got that in blue. Lovely compact watch. Problem is the crown doesn't screw down and gets knocked from below. It has stopped or changed times many times because of this!

I have a seiko one now. Much better on all fronts, although it's much bigger - which isn't good or bad, just different.

BTW Automatic is an inferior technology. Very inaccurate. Bulky, too.

        • @5k:

No probs, US$36.39 + $7.38 Shipping is the lowest price in nearly 2 years according to Camel.

          @tightwad:

BTW Automatic is an inferior technology.

That's debatable, but no one is going to win that argument. It all depends what you are after.

Put together a post on the regular Pro Divers in the 40mm sizing for those interested. Yours wasn't up mate when I started putting mine together, but I see they are different. Some good value watches.

    • +1

No worries, it's probably a better idea to have a separate post for the 40mm Pro Divers anyway.
      I will remove them.

      • +1

No worries. I added a link to your post on my deal.

  • +1

    got one, cheers op

    • I hope you like your watches big.

      • +1

As a matter of fact I do.
I'm currently wearing a Seiko sumo and I think it's too small.

  • +1

    That 3047 looks really enticing.

  • Looks like a great deal - how do these compare to the classic Seiko orange monster.

    • +3

No they are Invicta branded watches with a Seiko Auto movement, did you read anything in the description?

Please link to the watches that are a little extra with these specs?

How can you say they aren't quality when you clearly don't even know what they are?
They are great quality watches for what you pay, so I am always going to post them on Ozbargain.

It's usually always the people that have never owned or seen an Invicta Grand Diver or Pro Diver (Seiko Auto) that come out with these uninformed comments.

Thanks for giving me a reason to post my favourite comment on this subject from Watchuseek member - HoustonReal

Even if Invicta is an order of magnitude worse in quality control than Seiko, what does that mean? Do you have a 1/1000 chance of a bad Invicta vs 1/10,000 chance of a bad Seiko? Nobody here has actual statistics about quality and failure rates, so everything is anecdotal. There are lots of people here who have had no problems with their Invictas. There are also a lot of people here who have never owned an Invicta, who will tell you horror stories about someone they heard about who had one. The NH35A movement is basically an upgraded version of the 7S26 with hacking and hand winding, AKA the Seiko 4R35. Seiko uses them in a few upper end 5's and the new Monster divers, so it should offer the same bullet-proof reliability.

Buy from someplace with a good return policy, if you're that worried, like Amazon. If Invictas were really as awful as some people here think, they would be out of business. Instead, their big ugly monster watches, not only sell well on Evine, but there are pirated versions of Invicta Reserves being manufactured in China. Do you think Evine would continue hawking Invictas if a significant number of them were getting returned?

Invicta's Pro Diver line is somewhat respected here, with the 8926 being really popular for modding The 9404 is the same basic model, with different color choices. I have heard people here who have had bad experiences with Orient watches, but that brand seems immune to the hate Invicta garners.

like i said i'd prefer quality.

read plenty of reviews about this brand and still not convinced sorry

        next!

Voting is impartially indicative of whether a 'deal' is a bargain or not.

The first item in this post (Invicta 3045) has the lowest price in 8 years according to Camel.

Whether it is a 'deal' to anyone at any given time is subjective. It may be a 'no deal' for you, but your neg was uncalled for, especially when a member has taken the time to write up a post and contribute to the community.

Know the force you contend with.

merely expressing my opinion of this deal and the watches in general.

in future i will keep posts a shade of beige and not express my opinion or feelings.

don't care that i got negged for expressing my opinion.

i know how the mob mentality works on this forum.

        like i said

          @j4ck: bahahaha love it!!!!

          Hi,

No one minds you expressing your view, but there are rules/laws/canons/maxims/regulations covering use of deal votes, that's all.

And it's your comment that is being voted down, not you personally.

Your initial comment asked if they were "knock offs" - well they clearly are not - it's branded but with a Seiko movement. When you kick things off with something that is simply untrue you shouldn't be surprised if folk rank your comment as not useful, which is what the comment voting is all about.

But none of that is important right now. What is important is that HoustonReal is from Bunker Hill Village near Houston, which sounds like there's been a bit of shooting. It is part of a collection of upscale residential communities with over 90% white folk, but not actually part of Houston itself. Actually no, none of that is relevant either, which is why i risk having my comment voted down as well.

You did more than that. You negged a deal without legitimate reason …

For what it's worth here's my 2 cents
I just received the watch today.

    It's huge. No problem there
It's heavy. This is a problem
I have large forearms and the weight of this watch annoys me. Plus it's so large but has small features on the dial. I wish the hour indicators were bigger with brighter larger lume areas.

Another negative about this watch would be the untasteful writing engraved on the sides… It's so ugly.

The band looks and feels really good. Movement looks to be fine. Can't complain for the price but I'm Aussie, I must have winge.

    • Yeah that's why I mentioned the size 3 times in the title / description.
Once you wear it for a while you probably won't even notice the weight.

I don't think the writing on the sides stands out that much when you are wearing it. But they could save some money in the manufacturing process by not doing it and it would also look better.

      • Don't get me wrong, I love the size :) totally agree with you on the engraving.
I've seen some mods on YouTube for these watches, some owners have removed the engraving and it looks much better.
I love this watch size and I will only buy watches from now on that are similar in size to this one.
