      Good find
But with some styles, discount price only applies to certain sizes
      Depends on store

      • +1

I think you might be confused. @xdestinyyx is not the OP, and did not find these shorts to post as a deal.

          No one cares lol.

City beach has/had a good sale extra 20% off. Wouldn't expect too much for Kmart clothes but they are cheap, best to try on and inspect yourself.

  • +7

Liberal definition of chino for those elastic pairs

  • Anyone tried returning clearance items at kmart? There is nothing specifically in the returns policy on the website. I'm assuming change of mind is fine? Has anyone had a previous experience?

    • +7

Yep all fine as long as tags still on and not used, and not in excluded category eg undies

      • Excellent thank you

        • +19

For $6, if they don't fit, just donate them to your nearest charity outlet.

          • +2

            @MS Paint: Yeah good point

          • +10

@MS Paint: So they can get chucked in the bin like most of the fast fashion they get? Or sold for cents per kilo for export?

You'd be better off getting your money back and giving that to the charity. You also get a tax deduction that way.

            • @Daabido: That makes cents. Cheers

            • +3

@Daabido: It can cost the charity money just to sort & possibly dispose of donated clothes. Lots goes to landfill!
If unsuitable, mine will go back to store down the road.

            • @Daabido: Yes good call

Big W is the one that doesn't accept change of mind returns on clearance stuff, Kmart still does though.

      • +1

I fell foul of this at Big W last week - popped into the CBD store on the way home and bought an item for my dd.
Turns out I guessed the wrong size, took it back (Eastgardens) to get the right size but was refused an exchange because it was a "clearance item" - I had no idea it was a clearance item - it had a little round yellow sticker on it which I am supposed to know means it's a clearance item? It was hardly a clearance price - maybe 20% off usual price, so this 'can't return clearance items' is a bit of a scam.
Anyway, lesson learned - I won't bother buying from Big W if I'm not 100% sure.

Big W often don't price match either - I've tried twice at one of the stores over the years, and failed both times. One of the items they still had on their shelf months later and ended up reducing it much less than I had tried to get a match for.

    • +2

Never had any issues returning clearance items in my local Kmart for full refund.

    • Bought big selection of $3-10 shorts over several orders - with free OnePass delivery.
(Shorts came from up to 1450k away!)
To use around house, shopping, gardening, etc.

Easy way to choose what I wanted.
Handy as local stores had few choices in stock.
Usually like to see & try on clothes in store, rather than risk wrong online purchases.
Happy with the shorts I kept.

Did 1 easy return of rest to store 2k away.
I grouped by order number, tags were scanned.
Staff member thanked me for being helpful!
Credit went back to my CC in few days.

    How is the quality?

    • +19

      Kmart

    • +5

Bought similar looking & described "Fixed Waist Slim Stretch Chino Shorts" from Target over 5 years ago.
Still in daily use. Some are a bit worn & faded, so used in garden. A great buy.

Got 8 in various colours @$7.50 ea. Original price $30. Hopefully these are as good.

None or 1 in local stores.

      Ordered another 2 @$10ea
+ 2 "Fixed Waist Cargo Shorts [Red]" @$5ea
      for delivery with OnePass.

      • +1

All 4 shorts dispatched for delivery👍

    • How Where is the quality?

    • +1

Kmart and BigW quality has come right down in recent years. My 5 year old kmart tshirts were starting to get a bit worn out so I bought some new ones. Within 3 months of wearing the new ones they look the same.

    • +3

Got a couple pairs of the "Fixed Waist Slim Stretch Chino Shorts" (https://www.kmart.com.au/product/fixed-waist-slim-stretch-ch…)
      - I paid full price @ $20/pair, so $10 is a bargain!
      - Good stretch, fit + comfortable
      - Thinner material than my Uniqlo pants (e.g. pockets), but have been good for summer
      - Survived a few washes + wears already, but we'll see how they hold up over the years

If possible, would recommend making the trip and trying in store first to get a good fit (much easier than returning online orders).

I also tried on some of the cheaper shorts in store - definitely MUCH thinner and not as comfortable.

Good thing is now I have the right fit + style and can order via Onepass if out of stock :)

    • +1

Good quality👍 But depends on which shorts.

Received order of 2 beige "Fixed Waist Slim Stretch Chino Shorts".
Perfect fit, soft & thick cotton, should last for years of my use. Put straight on - very comfy!

Ordered 1 size smaller, from previous experience with similar stretch shorts from Target. Which have lasted over 5 years.

      Very happy @$10ea👍
      Ordered another.

      Black is still $20💰

      • +1

        Next order arrived!
2 "Fixed Waist Cargo Shorts [brick Red]" @$5ea

Not quite as comfy feeling as the $10 "Stretch Chino Shorts".
Good thick cotton, should last a while.

        Another great purchase👍

        • Someone has probably said it but I wouldn't call any of those chino shorts, the one i clicked on ('chino shorts') look very short on the model.

Anyway they seem very cheap and good if they suit and happy with them.

What's the link to your favorite ones, may have a look.

          • +1

@G-rig: All the Chinos I bought are described as mid-length (to just above knee), which they are.
A good length at a great price.

But link has been removed from the Deal.
Here it is - less red irl. "Designed to fade".

Same length & look as the stretch Chinos I bought in Deal.

Saw some other Chinos that are very short. Checked Sizing - for females.

But when I add shorts to bag, Kmart keeps taking some out. Stock available for delivery keeps disappearing!

            Bought 7 more shorts now.
Some for gardening, some for lying in the Kmart wading pool…
Will be interesting how many are delivered🤔

            • @INFIDEL: Pretty good value haha nice work.
The cargo pants look better than most of their chinos which aren't chinos.

              • @G-rig: I avoid cargo pants now, after lower pockets kept being caught - severely damaging the pants / shorts & me. I almost never used those pockets anyway.

For travel, I use convertible pants - zipping off leg section, leaving shorts. Very adaptable to different weather conditions.

Chinos by definition refers to the colour of the fabric. So unsure what you consider real chinos.

                • @INFIDEL: Yes cargo pants are so 1995, I would never buy them unless you have a skateboard and wear vans still.

Ok chinos I consider the general look and tailoring, not the colour but the main thing is if you like them. Try some Industrie ones on and you'll notice a massive difference. Better tailoring/cut, better materiel thicker and stretchier whilst holding their shape forever.

I'd prefer one or two good pairs of shorts than 10 or 20 cheapies (but this is Ozbargain of course).

                    • @INFIDEL: Ok lol.
This is Ozbargain, quantity over quality is totally fine.

            • +1

              @INFIDEL: Ordered 7 shorts for $38.
For basic everyday use (around house, shopping, gardening, beach). That's what most Kmart clothes are good for.

These chinos are well made, with sturdy material. Last ones are still in daily use over 5 years later.

6 out of 7 shorts found in 1 Kmart 100k away. $8 one found in another store.

Free delivery with $12/yr OnePass is certainly easler than searching in stores

              • @INFIDEL: Cheap and should keep you going..

(they are still calling all of those Chino shorts when they aren't though - even those elastic waist long pants are 'chino pants' lol).

Story of my life with many things kmart

“This popular item has sold out online”

  • +5

Kmart uses some stupid courier company who seems unable to understand what "leave unattended" means and routes the order to the local post office, which is located …right next to a Kmart.

If I wanted to go to a mall, I'd go to the mall.

    • +4

In some cases that particular item you ordered may not be coming from mall next to the post office.
Courier people acting funny, well, that’s a consistent thing across.

      • +1

A delivery of a $4 small shovel was sent from store 1000k away!

    • Received all my unattended deliveries.

Well 1 was delivered to wrong front door (shown in email). Complained to CouriersPlease. Same package arrived next day.

4 shorts dispatched fot free delivery.

  • Any of the pants I tried were full price.. No matter what size I chose..

  • The shorts material is so thin, it's going straight back to kmart.

    • +1

Which of the many Kmart shorts?

Not an issue with the $10 "Fixed Waist Slim Stretch Chino Shorts" I bought & am wearing.

Soft thick cotton, should last for years of my use. (Based on previous Target version, bought 5 years ago & still being worn.)

Very comfy & happy with them👍
      Ordered more.

Passed on other Kmart shorts in store - so thin.

    • $5 "Fixed Waist Cargo Shorts [brick Red]"
Good thick cotton, should last a while.

    • Tip is: know your shorts material.

If shorts are drawstring or elastic waist (as in Deal image), material will be thin. More like boardshorts. Good for beach.

Chino, denim, etc are thicker material. Look more like dress shorts. What I bought.

      It's your choice!

  • +1

Also Fixed Waist Cargo Shorts.Red $5
Sizing is 1 size up, so order 1 size smaller.
Thick cotton, should last a while. Designed to fade.

Just ordered a few in Qld. May not be available elsewhere.

  • Shorts are on 1450km FREE OnePass journey 🚚

Bought plenty from $3-10. Returned many (not correct size, not suitable) to store 2k away.
Much easier than finding & choosing in store!!
