Birkenstock is crying out loud… col

    • Is it though?

I tried the kmart crocs for $8 and they were rubbish.

Any idea if these are comparable to birkenstocks

It's good for walking around the house or in a garden.

It's soft but a bit thin, I did stumble couple times when going outside.

    • +12

Yes don't drink & wear Kmart slides.

    • +1

Why would you wear shoes inside the house?

      • +2

        Because:
        Some people have flat feet.
Some people have high arched feet.

        • +2

I have flat feet and don't wear these in the house because I keep my floors clean.

      • +13

Because there are loads of cultures where removing them isn't standard practice.

        • +1

          chuckles… like australian!

      • -1

        Because the cat vomits.

  • +6

These are great for camping where you need something light or if ya going to get wet.
The birkies can stay at home in both cases.

    • Definately more a fan of the closed footwear when camping

      • +2

Sorry, moreso for walking around the campground, not trekking as such.
        Thats for the proper birkies.

  • +1

(profanity) I bought 3 pairs for $4 each last week. End me now.

    • +2

How can you even look at yourself in the mirror??

      • +3

        With style

    • +4

Rebuy and return. Get that 6 wicked wings.

    • My heart goes out to the "addon avocado" you could've spent that on

  • +4

    The ultimate import look 👌🤌

    • If you're wearing them out in public and you aren't in a beach town.

      • +2

be OK if you're wearing socks too!
        ahem

        • +2

          That's the complete look lol

  • Damn oos

  • +2

Back in my day slides were called slippery dips, and these things were called sandals.

    • -1

      boom boom boomer basil!

  • +5

I love mine. Theyre really comfy and look great dressed up or down. Good for the office

  • +3

I love mine. They're really comfy and look great. Good for lining up in the dole queue.

  • +2

Using these for awhile. They make a loud squeaking noise when first putting them on, and the areas that fold have cracked a little bit. But have definitely got the value out of the amount paid. For $2 even better

  • +2

Kmart clothing/footwear clearance? Good luck ever finding the size you want.

    • Funnily enough was in Kmart today getting other things and saw a pair reduced from $6 to $4 in my size. Scanned at $2 was a nice surprise. Ironically I was there to look at the shorts that are on clearance but there were none of the ones I would consider buying.

      • And you didn't share the deal earlier… tsk tsk

  • Ah safety thongs. Always drink and cause injuries.

  • When you select size is that AU or US sizing?

    • +1

Would like to know this as well. Going off previous purchases, my assumption is AU/UK listed.

      • +3

        AU/UK

    • Oh good question.. i just bought a pair assuming it is US sizing

      • -1

Why would you assume US sizing? We live in Australia, so you should always assume Australian sizing. Especially from an Australian company like Kmart.
Maybe if you're buying an American brand like Nike, then you can assume US sizes, but Australian shoes in Australia will almost always have Australian sizes.

        • +1

I don’t know. I think almost every pair of shoes i have bought online (not many) was in US sizing.
And on top of that, I remember long time ago when i first moved to Australia, i was in some sports store (likely rebel) and asked for a specific size (i was referring to AU) the guy comes out the back with the shoes in US sizing. I was a bit surprised but the guy was like: yeah we usually just use US sizing by default when it comes to shoes.

          • @Save 50 Cent: Fair enough. I have lived in Aus my whole life (almost 50 years). When I was younger there was never any confusion. Everyone only talked in Australian sizes. However I have noticed the shift towards US sizing over the years. There was never any official announcement about this though. It’s just one part of the larger Americanisation takeover that has impacted this country. Still though, Australia’s offical shoe sizing is the same as the UK sizing and until the shoe gods say otherwise, then we have to go with Aus sizes as the default. Kmart is doing the right thing here.

            • @PleasureMe: Ive lived in metropolitan Melbourne all my life and only ever referred to shoe sizes as US or UK for the past 40 years. Perhaps Ive never bought Australian branded shoes before.

            • @PleasureMe: Isn't US shoe sizing just 1 smaller? Pretty easy to remember. I just hope we never adopt that god awful imperial system of measurement that they use.

              • @Windows7forever: yes, that's correct. But this thread started from the OP saying he assumed Kmart listed sizes in US since Kmart website does not state whether the size is UK or US.

So I was merely pointing out that if you must make an assumption, then for an Australian company you should assume Australian (a.k.a. UK) sizing.

  • Clogs $2 too

  • Got them for $4 and found them super uncomfortable, better off with the crocs.

    • Same, been rocking the faux crocs though

  • Stop! I hate saving money!

  • +1

Just came back from kmart to test them and only these ones are worth it. The others are so hard that you might as well walk barefoot

    • +4

      they look horrific

      • they look like this

        • Nice advertising plug

    • Just for others, these feel hard initially but soon soften AND continue to soften rather rapidly so don't expect years use out of them. They are comfy though - I went back and grabbed another pair when they were $4!!!

  • +1

Warning with the printed thongs, I got a pair last year, on the first day I wore them, the print started to come off in summer. So much for a summer themed thong print, it was all gone on both after 4-6 months. They are landfil by 8-9 months as they wear thin.

Less than 12 months? Surely that's an ACL complaint right there?

  • -4

    What a ugly shoe

    • +1

Obviously doesnt know how to dress it up or down or match with different outfits

  • +1

    Got 3 pairs. Thank you.

  • +1

Mine arrived yesterday and I can confirm these are the most uncomfortable POS shoes I’ve ever worn. Literally feels like walking on a block of plastic.

    • +1

I love mine. Had black and ordered blue and green. Comfy for me. Maybe your feet are bad.

      • +1

Or my feet just know what good footwear is meant to feel like lol

    • +2

Lol it's good for walking around in the garden or going to the mailbox. Wouldn't walk a mile in these shoes.

  • they are very light foamy material
