The colour as shown on the Amazon page is a bit naff looking - so I'm hoping that this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ-fdhJ267w

video is a better representation, given that I've just ordered one.

TY ex-28, this was exactly what my poor old eyes were hoping for - and as the chap in this video stated, if you don't like the thought of an Invicta, just think of it as a really cheap hi-end Seiko…
It also comes with the Invicta warranty, and ships to Amazon collection points in Oz :-)

    • Thanks terrys, I forget about the US$1.00 Off if you send it to a Parcel Point pick up, added to the description.
Did you use the referral links for US$5.00 Off?

Agree about the Seiko comment, really the most important part is all Seiko (the movement)
Also this one is 300 Metres Waterproof so it should be well constructed.

I thought the referrals were only for the app - I keep my phone clear of those ones :-/ There is one sad video of someone who had the winder-weight fall of his 8 year old one, but he was a bike rider [vibration], and it would have been the earlier non-crown winding myota movement. Even then, I doubt a semi-skilled jobbing repairer would have much problem popping the screw back in with a touch of loctite. I've had Seiko dress watches cope with rock-climbing, bush walking and such like with merely the [rolex style] strap suffering, so I believe I have a watch here that will see me out…

Yes you need to use the App, but I think it's worth having for another US$5.00 (AU$6.60) off.

  • I thought Invicta were Swiss made?

    • It varies from what I have read - Invicta - A real Swiss company?

    • As I understand it, Invicta WAS a Swiss brand who is now 100% owned by the Americans.

Typical race to the bottom they are now made in China with JP or MY Seiko mvts.

They do have some expensive models that are assembled in the US just so they say they can they are 'made in the USA'.

They are specialists in that thing where they say the RRP is $595 but its on amazon and joma etc at $99.95.

There are heaps of reviews of the Grand Diver over the cheaper pro, I just bought one like the above for around $200… its a rarer model than the above but $200 is a throwaway price for a watch IMO.

I dont like the Pro Diver as it looks like a straight up Submariner clone but this one looks a bit better IMO.

Friends don't let friends buy Invicta.

You make a compelling argument, I will cancel my order. Haha, no but seriously thanks for giving me a reason to post my favourite comment on this subject from Watchuseek member - HoustonReal

Even if Invicta is an order of magnitude worse in quality control than Seiko, what does that mean? Do you have a 1/1000 chance of a bad Invicta vs 1/10,000 chance of a bad Seiko? Nobody here has actual statistics about quality and failure rates, so everything is anecdotal. There are lots of people here who have had no problems with their Invictas. There are also a lot of people here who have never owned an Invicta, who will tell you horror stories about someone they heard about who had one. The NH35A movement is basically an upgraded version of the 7S26 with hacking and hand winding, AKA the Seiko 4R35. Seiko uses them in a few upper end 5's and the new Monster divers, so it should offer the same bullet-proof reliability.

Buy from someplace with a good return policy, if you're that worried, like Amazon. If Invictas were really as awful as some people here think, they would be out of business. Instead, their big ugly monster watches, not only sell well on Evine, but there are pirated versions of Invicta Reserves being manufactured in China. Do you think Evine would continue hawking Invictas if a significant number of them were getting returned?

Invicta's Pro Diver line is somewhat respected here, with the 8926 being really popular for modding The 9404 is the same basic model, with different color choices. I have heard people here who have had bad experiences with Orient watches, but that brand seems immune to the hate Invicta garners.

Possibly the Kathmandu of watches? Their rrp isn't believable but they have some decent quality there.

  • Honestly, for the money these are pretty good. Certainly nothing wrong with the movement.
