don't you just miss one of these phones?

I wish they are unlocked with over 7 days standby time.

basically thats all you need for a mobile phone.

I bought one for my parents last year. They love it for the small size, light weight, but big numbers displayed, big buttons, loud speaker and easy to use, simply as a phone without fancy technologies they don't need. Superb for the seniors. This one is the old model though. The new one looks more fashion even attracts young buyers. At last, it would be good if unlocked.

what's the model number of the new one?

      • The phone I bought isn't Telstra branded: CAPITEL S718. The new one is S728

        Googled the links:
        S718: http://www.myluxphone.com/capitel-s718.html
        S728: http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale/wholesale-capitel-s728.h…

        • I think I got it wrong. See themonty's post below, it should be made by ZTE, not CAPITEL. Sorry

        • Eh.. You are half-right. ZTE don't "make" anything as such, they just get some other suppliers and rebadge. I'd imagine CAPITEL do the same. Finding the OEM is usually a rather difficult endeavour.

        • "Old people / Old men / Old man mobile" lol

  • this one's got 300 hours standby time (~12 days!) though the talk-time is a bit low at only 5 hrs..

      Only 300!

My E52 is rated at 672 hours if I disable 3G
      http://www.nokia.com.au/find-products/all-phones/nokia-e52/s…

I use it heavily and still can go a week between charges

      • Can you buy an E52 for $1?

Also lol @ your claim of using your E52 heavily. From the specs you linked to:

        "Talk time (maximum):
        GSM up to 8 h
        WCDMA up to 6 h"

Wow sounds like you use it real heavy for it to still last a week.

is there an upgrade to android 2.2?

    • I'm fairly sure someone at XDA has 2.2 running on it but it is not stable enough yet.

  • Limit 1 handset per transaction (except SA)

All telstra deals never have a limit in SA. Anyone know why?

    • SA have some very strange laws.. I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't allowed to enforce quantity limitations, even on sale items.

They also have very different competition laws; I once read the T&Cs for a comp that stated that residents in SA were allowed to simply fill out a form, instead of making a purchase, to enter the comp. Lucky them! :P

  • it's a good deal, but i just double check on the Telstra website, There was no any $29 recharge card exist.

  • Can't you select a different offer when buying pre paid credit in order to get long life credit? I think that would make the deal a bit more appealing when purchasing for Seniors etc. Looks like a nice phone for them.

my grandma and grandpa will like it very much

  • I bought two today. You don't need to buy recharge at all.
