US$150 cheaper than VORKE Official Store on AliExpress

Looks like a great alternative to Intel NUC Skull Canyon that I purchased few months ago and very happy with it. Not as small as most NUC liks PC but still very portable having sub A4 dimensions - (L x W x H): 19.00 x 25.20 x 5.10 cm.

Needs RAM, HDD, keyboard, mouse and monitor for a pretty decent machine.

Higlights bellow copied from GeekBuying web site.

Intel Core i7-6700HQ

VORKE V6 MINI PC is powered by the Intel Core i7-6700HQ, a quad-core processor based on the Skylake architecture. In addition to four CPU cores with Hyper-Threading clocked at 2.6 - 3.5 GHz, the chip also integrates an HD Graphics 530 GPU and a dual-channel DDR4-2133/DDR3L-1600 memory controller.

Nvidia GTX960M

An upper mid-range, DirectX 11-compatible graphics card, GeForce GTX 960M is based on Nvidia's Maxwell architecture and manufactured in 28 nm. The GTX 960M offers 640 shader units clocked at 1097 - 1202 MHz (Boost), besides the fact that it comes with a 4GB Video RAM.

Dual Channel DDR4, Maximum 32GB, Dual M.2 22*80 SSD

One of the check-off features of the i7-6700HQ-powered VORKE V6 is the support for dual-channel DDR4 memory, meaning that you can install 2*16GB DDR4 RAM stick to the host. On top of that, the 2 M.2 slots bring access to both HDD and SSD memory of unlimited size.

Dual Band WIFI

With support for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz band, it can transmit higher amounts of data, and its naturally less congested.

For those who are not sure what a barebones is, this is a computer that requires some additional assembly and parts to make it work.

You'll need to buy and add in DDR4 memory and M.2 Solid state drive (altogether cost maybe $200~300) before it is functional.

Also has a standard 2.5" SATA bay. Would probably be cheaper than filling the M.2 SATA/PCIe slots.

    the fans look loud?….

I keep looking at these mini PCs as I wanted something that was quiet (mainly fanless) and didn't use much power But I guess I might as well rebuild my desktop to something newer.

    • Check out the Eglobal machines on aliexpress. I don't know anything about them but they do look interesting. Prices were very tempting on 11.11

They were the ones I was looking at….

  • It will kill Skull Canyon in Graphics (IRIS Pro): Even though everyone bags out about the 960's performance compared to the newer Pascals.

  • Most of the eGlobal machines have ultrabook CPUs (i7 is still only 2 cores just like i5). Their [rebranded version] (https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Eglobal-Game-Killer…) of VORKE is $US837 (there are one or two similar speced ones in different form factor all above $US800 mark)

    • Worry not! The 6700HQ is a quad core processor with hyoerthreading.

      • That is exactly my point, VORKE uses proper desktop CPU.

  • would this be good for a 'daily driver' looking to go back to windows from MacOS … just need it for net, email, stalkbook and coreldraw.

    cheers
