Dell Inspiron 15 7567 Gaming Laptop: i7-7700HQ 256GB+1TB HDD, 16GB-RAM, GTX1050Ti, 15.6 IPS FHD LED - $1,598 (20% off)

My sister was laptop shopping and had the eye on this laptop, Dell eBay store is ~$80 cheaper ($1520 shipped) with its 20% off sales.

We were going to JB to "feel" the laptop before buying online but found that JB is doing 20% off as well.

She prefers to pay $80 more to buy from a brick and mortar store than wait 2 weeks to have it ships from Dell Malaysia as per listed on eBay.

  • Much of a discount?

Any good for video editing or wed u recommend different specs

It'll be fine, but if the upcoming 8700HQ CPU has 6 cores we're going to be wishing we had that instead haha. (I say that as someone who is having their 7700HQ laptop delivered today…)

Biggest issue I'd be worried about is colour accuracy of the screen on this one. Not bad for making the edits themselves, but I'd probably want to be outputting the laptop to a better desktop screen when colour correcting and grading.

        That's why I picked xps 9560 (+700$, 512GB SDD, no HDD).

Similar spec as Alienware, but half price

    • You like the primes ay

      • I really do. Though the gigabytes look pretty cool too.

    • Do they have anything near the price range of 1k to 1.5k? I've seen their Prime S looks fuuckin good. Also how legit are they?

  • Dell have these for $1199 with slightly different specs.

    i5 7300HQ
    8GB RAM
    No HDD

  • Just wait for Dell's eBay sales sometime soon.
It'll most likely drop to 1200-1300~

    • +1

As mentioned it's already on sales on ebay for $1520.

      I'd like to see a i7/1050ti laptop for $1200.

      • i7 laptops prob be on special in this Chrismas

        • There're some i7 laptops for sales under $1k but nothing with decent video card.

        • Everything will probably be on special at Christmas, but there's no guarantee and it certainly doesn't help someone wanting one now.

      • That would come with a nasty chassis and screen or be a model getting superseded. There's not much a a margin in entry-level gaming laptops.

Dell eBay store is ~$80 cheaper ($1520 shipped) with its 20% off sales.

The Dell ebay model has a smaller SSD — 128GB Solid State Drive + 1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive -vs- 256GB Solid State Drive + 1TB Hard Drive.

Here's the link to the Dell eBay model ($1,899.00 less 20% = $1519.20)…

    • LOL didn't notice that, good to know.

  • I suggest that a GTX 1070 class GPU is the minimum spec you should consider for a VR system.

Maybe some of you guys could wait for the max-q models. They are way lighter and more powerful than any of the gaming laptop currently on the marketplace.

Might take a few more months/years for them to reach the stores.

Might take a few more months/years for them to reach the stores.

No worries, I'll just put my life on hold in hopes of some future gaming laptop.

      • It is already on sale the current model Gaming 15 with a 1060 is available from the Dell store.

  • Review says good for gaming performance, but screen is not good for editing etc

    • Not good for photo editing? Light Room?

    • +1

Most of the online reviews were reviewing the unit with TN panel, the one on sales here is the updated one with the much better IPS panel.

      • The IPS panel still isn't great. You can got to notebookcheck.com for a breakdown of the IPS panel performance.

However it's probably good enough unless you're a professional or really keen amateur.

        • -1

True. TBH even for the amateurs, they should have a proper monitor for photos/videos editing.

        • @kinfungl:

A shit monitor can also be greatly improved through proper calibration.

    • I'd imagine that for the most part, you'd want it hooked up to an external monitor anyway for such editing.

  • For anyone wondering:

    Height: 25.44mm (1.00") x Width: 384.9mm (15.15") x Depth: 274.73mm (10.82")
Weight: Starting at 2.65Kg (5.84 lbs)

  • I have this exact build! Love it! Especially the battery

    • How long does it last?

      • +1

Just over an HR gaming and over 8hrs general use

  • Ordered this exact one, was around $16xx with a custom listing for 3 years premium warranty added.
Great laptop, delivery was around a week.
Far better off getting 3 year warranty, standard 1 year warranty is a damn joke for something worth up to 2 grand!

    • I thought that consumer law overrides that 1 year warranty?

If price is a certain amount it should last more than just x years before it bites the dust.

Example: Laptop 4k with only 1 year warranty, It breaks down 1year and a month later riiight? someone chime in please.

      • ACL does over rule the 1 year warranty but you might have to fight for it and wait a while, they probably just wont "give it to you"

That said if anyone wanted 4k for a laptop and offered 1 year warranty I would walk away as they obviously dont have confidence in their product

  • +1

For that amount of money you could get a Metabox built to your specs and IMO get a better machine

PS Metabox machines dont have bloatware either, just windows with no crap

    • +1

Not sure why someone downvoted you. Have an upvote.

I've been researching and watching prices for laptops for a while now. Will most likely be getting a metabox.

  • Just picked one up with Dell Mixed Reality Visor with Controllers for $1600. Not bad consider the reality visor is selling for $799 at the moment. Bargain!
