    Slightly misleading title as the purchase can be made anywhere

    Purchase a Western Digital 2TB Caviar Green or Black hard drive from participating WD retailers and receive a FREE $20 Visa Card that you can use to spend anywhere around the world in any retail store!

    But then who else is a participating WD retailer?

    This is from their website:
    Shipping if required is charged at $5 for Perth metro area, $12 for West Australia Country and $19 Australia Wide.Or pick up from Osborne Park. Optional Shipping insurance is charged at 5% of the total cost. Visa, Mastercard and AMEX Credit cards attracts 2.3% surcharge. Diners 4%. AMEX and Diners are only available on in-store pickup orders as a signature is required.

    $19 seems a bit steep for postage for 1 HDD to Vic + another 7.3% if I pay with visa & take insurance
    total for me approx $130 - msy are currently selling for $109

      Netplus have a flat shipping fee.
      Good when you want lots of things or something big/bulky but not good when you want something small

    As others have stated, the 20 dollar Visa card is not exclusive to them, and its first come first serve for 100 lucky ppl.

      Garratt… Doh - where is the false advertisement here. The heading doesnt have to say everything, there is a limited amount of space in there. Even newspaper advertisments have some fine print.

      NOW if they didn't disclose the details like they did then you would be correct in voting the way you did.

      In the TEXT the poster says quite simply that there are only 100 available..

      And everyone above you have already stated this… so you are telling us nothing.

    Netplus was my favourite computer shop. But very sad about this advert.
    Only 100 nationwide!? What a scam. Why would Shaw promote such a thing?
    This is pure bait. Worse than bait-and-switch, since you pay and then find out you get no card.

    NEGATIVE NEGATIVE NEGATIVE. (No point voting since negatives are never welcome. Must reduce the sites revenue.)

    I was after a 2TB drive anyway so have bought one and registered for the $20 cash back. No confirmation email from WD as yet.
    PS. Called Netpls before heading down and saleperson didn't seem to have a clue what I was talking about regarding the $20 Visa WD deal. If it isn't being promoted very much, it could increase chances of making it within the 100.
